Italy needs to do what Hungary has done: shut the door to illegal migration. It makes a mockery of a country’s immigration system, sending an open invitation to jump the queue, invites in the worst criminal and jihadist elements, and is economically unsustainable in the long run. Italy’s problem is longstanding. In 2021, nonstop Muslim migrant landings in Lampedusa became a “situation is out of control.” Lampedusa remains the problem area, as well as the entire Southern coast of Sicily.
Ignoring the problem has not made it go away, and now Italy is under a state of emergency in hopes of stopping the hijrah.
“Italy declares state of emergency amid migration influx,” by Federica Pascale, EURACTIV, April 12, 2023:
Italy declared a nationwide state of emergency on Tuesday for the next six months following the exceptional increase in migrants continuously arriving via the Mediterranean routes.
On Tuesday, the Council of Ministers led by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni (FDI/ECR) declared a national state of emergency on immigration after the Civil Protection and Sea Policies Minister Nello Musumeci proposed it. The decision also comes after a meeting between Musumeci and Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi.
The state of emergency will be financed with an initial €5 million in funding.
“Let’s be clear. The problem is not solved, the solution to which is linked only to a conscious and responsible intervention by the European Union”, Musumeci said after the government decided on the state of emergency.
“There is a condition of absolute emergency. It is not a new fact (…) It is a problem destined not to be exhausted for at least the next ten years”, the minister told Radio Anch’io, stressing the need to “neutralise the mafia of the scapegoats”.
Last February, the Italian parliament approved the so-called ‘Code of Conduct for NGOs’ – a government decree establishing a code of conduct for ships intervening to rescue migrants – despite criticism from the UN and humanitarian groups.
Migration flows in recent months have strained State structures, according to Musumeci, who called for a “responsible approach” towards migrants and their rights.
In particular, the minister highlighted the difficulty in managing the flows arriving at the islands – Lampedusa and the entire southern coast of Sicily – areas where first reception hotspots are constantly collapsing.
The Easter weekend was busy for national authorities, with boats breaking down and migrants at sea whereby about 2,000 people were rescued….

Stopping hijrah? Making a deal with the EU and bringing 500k migrants? Southern Italy has already been given over to migrants.

Thanks for that website and article, jean. But the next to the last statement says this:
“We must avoid that those who flee wars decide to rely on ruthless human smugglers,” he said, adding that in Libya, “the objective is to help in emptying the detention centers.”
I’m trying to figure out, what war(s)?? But these are YOUNG men, right? If there was a war in their country, shouldn’t they all be staying and fighting for it? If so many many young men leave their country, that would make the country FALL, to whoever is fighting them, because they wouldn’t have enough men/soldiers!!
And they leave their families behind too? Doesn’t make sense…then again, I know why their still coming into, not just Italy, but all the, what used to be, NON muslim countries.
When no more of these type of people are coming into all these countries, it’ll be time…

Hoping Giorgia Meloni will be able to convince others to do what has to be done and that other countries would follow suit.

Send them to France and elect people who are very strongly anti illegal immigration.

According to the feature article:

A little late…

Open borders and the muslim migration invasion is a huge mistake. But there are those in political and power positions in government who profited from allowing this to happen. Saudi Arabia and Qatar have spread lots of dollars around in pushing the migration of islam around the world.
Ralph says
ISLAM is the antithesis of civility and sanity. Any Christian nation who allows Muslim immigration is being self-destructive. Muslims do NOT assimilate, will not assimilate. Closing borders and deporting all non-citizen Muslims is the onlyanswer.
Peacelover says
+ unfortunately, many countries are ignorant in this matter and I tell ya’,some places.like in the U.S.,people seem willingly ignorant. It’s so sad.

So true, peacelover!

I wish news outlets and talking heads as well as politicians would stop referring to these people as a migrant or an immigration situation and call it what is really is… An Invasion.. A spade is a spade and not a shovel.
When anybody is invading your country then you have the right to shoot them, start doing that and then round up those already in country, men, women and children and deport them ALL, send them back to the country they came from and if they lie about where that is then tell them a country will be chosen for them and it will be somewhere they would not want to go too and if such a county refuses to accept them then land the Plane in an emergency situation, open the doors and kick them out.
We Westerners don’t seem to know that muslims ONLY understand revenge and this why they believe we are weak men while they laugh in our faces while they rape the Western women as they see they are just whores they do not have to pay for… If these young muslim ”men” claim they are fleeing War then they are cowards and we have enough of them in our Governments so we don’t need anymore,
thanks anyway… allah aint great… Their allah dude is a Fascist low life.

The only solution is the Australian solution. Use the navy to intercept the boats and send them around. They are not allowed to reach shore under any circumstances.
In Australia we have not had any boats land on our shores for the last 12 or so years. It works. Simples!
