“Make ready for them all that you can of force and of warhorses, so that by them you may strike terror in the enemy of Allah and your enemy…” (Qur’an 8:60)
“Nigeria: a thousand Christians killed in first 100 days of 2023,” La Croix International, April 18, 2023:
Over 50,000 Christians were killed in Nigeria by Islamist extremists over the past 14 years, with some 1,000 Christians brutally murdered in the first 100 days of 2023 alone, according to a new report by the civil rights group Intersociety.
“It has been investigated and found that no fewer than 1,041 defenseless Christians were hacked to death by Nigeria’s Jihadists in the first 100 days of 2023. Also, no fewer than 707 Christians were abducted within the same period… Going by our findings warranting this special investigative report, the number of Christians killed in the country for nonviolently professing Christianity between July 2009 and April 2023 has risen to 52,250,” according to the report, titled “Martyred Christians in Nigeria”, published by the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety). About 34,000 moderate Muslims also died in Islamist attacks.
“No fewer than 50 million Christians majority of them in Northern Nigeria are facing serious threats from jihadists for being professed Christians; out of which not less than 14 million have been uprooted and eight million forced to flee their homes to avoid being hacked to death. About five million have been displaced and forced into IDP camps within Nigeria and refugee camps at regional and sub-regional borders,” the Nigerian non-governmental organization report pointed out.
Also, at least 800 Christian communities have “uprooted and seized or taken over; with many of them renamed and Islamized by the jihadists” since 2009, reported Intersociety which has been investigating religious persecution and other forms of religious violence by state and non-state actors in Nigeria since 2010.
According to Intersociety findings as many as 18,000 churches and 2200 Christian schools and other Christian learning centers were most likely to have been attacked by the Jihadists or destroyed in part or in whole including being razed or burned down. The number of Mosques and Islamic learning centers attacked by jihadists is “minutely disproportionate” when compared to number of churches or Christian schools attacked, according to the report….

I just looked up some statistics and was surprised. This is from a 2019 Pew Poll:
Nigeria, which has the sixth-largest Christian population in the world (87 million), also has the world’s fifth-largest Muslim population (90 million).Apr 1, 2019
The country is a democracy on paper. It officially recognizes human rights the same way Western nations do. Here’s an excerpt from a Wiki article about the country:
On 26 April 2020, the Reporter without Borders World Press Freedom Index ranked Nigeria 115 out of 180 countries surveys. Reporters without Borders cited killing, detention and brutalisation of journalists alongside targeted attempts to shrink the civic space by the Nigerian Government as a reason for the ranking. However, this rank is higher than the 146 ranks which Transparency International gave Nigeria earlier in the year with regards to corruption The Reporters without Borders report further stated “With more than 100 independent newspapers, Africa’s most populous nation enjoys real media pluralism but covering stories involving politics, terrorism or financial embezzlement by the powerful is very problematic.”
This sounds like the kind of democracy practiced today by voters in China and Russia.

“Democracy” means nothing in today’s world. The rulers are doing whatever they please, and pleasing themselves means tyranny for the rest of mankind.

Indeed….

There is a Muslim president there, they will never return power to a Christian president through ruse and electoral fraud.

Nigeria is supposed to go back and forth between Christian and Muslim presidents–but now they have voted in the second Muslim in a row. Things are bound to get even worse there.

This is so truly saddening. However, the world is headed for Armageddon and evil will then be wiped from the earth.
This is the Christian belief and the Christian hope; that Jesus will keep His promises. In fact, God’s promises from the “beginning” in the Garden, where He told of ‘satan being bruised in the head,” meaning death for the demon, and all of those other promises, have “all become Yes by means of Christ Jesus.’
The Christians in Nigeria have that hope and that is why they can hang on and not abandon their faith is such terrible circumstances.
The evil murderers and those who abet, fund and support them, will all “reap as they have sown.”

I pray daily…more than once…the prayer Jesus taught His disciples; called the Lord’s Prayer, and by some, Our Father prayer.
For God to make people know His holy Name; to bring His Kingdom and to do His will here as He does in heaven.
When that prayer is answered…and it will be as Jesus prayed it…things will be as they have always should have been.

Sura 9/111 motivates to kill infidels until all mankind is Islamized.
Incidentally, date 9/11 was chosen because of sura 9/111

And the Pope and Christian leaders are where? The silence of the media and those who lead the Christian Churches is deafening. Maybe if we said the Nigerian Muslim murdered a thousand Trans. persons in a hundred days the world would care. Because killing Christians doesn’t seem to mean much.
tgusa says
Where are they? The answer to that appears to be… Never send a modern Christian leader (or media personality) to do a mans job.
gravenimage says
tgusa, the leader of Nigeria is Muslim, not Christian.

Yes I know gravenimage. I was responding to Old Guys post but I didn’t hit reply. My bad.
