While we are used to reports of regular Hindu citizens in Pakistan being threatened and forced to convert to Islam, turns out parliamentarians of other non-Islamic faiths aren’t safe in Pakistan either. Recently, a video from Pakistan, showing Hindu lawmaker Danish Kumar narrating the harassment he has endured for his faith, has surfaced on social media and gone viral. Kumar asserts that people from Pakistan’s majority community have regularly pressured him to convert to Islam.
He also stated that his fellow parliamentarians tell him, “You should recite the Kalma and become a Muslim.” Kumar adds that he is frustrated with the repeated calls to convert to Islam. “I have asked them not to force Islam on me till they don’t straighten up the corruption in their society.” On the floor of the parliament, he demanded that no one should preach Islam to him anymore. Instead, they should preach the goodness of Islam to those embroiled in anti-social activities and leave the Hindus alone.

How many people who’ve heard of Pakistan don’t know that its entire raison d’être was/is islam? It’s like East Germany, South Yemen, North Korea… once communism collapsed in the first 2 countries, they lost any reason to remain separate from their original countries. Similarly, if islam disappeared in Pakistan, they could remain independent, but would have no reason to remain separate from India
