“Gunmen Suspected To Be Herdsmen Raid Kogi Community, Kill Living Faith Church Pastor,” Sahara Reporters, April 5, 2023:
Jacob Wodi Hulobu, a resident pastor of the Living Faith Church in Aloko-Oganenigwu, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, has been reportedly killed by gunmen.
It was learnt that the gunmen, suspected to be herdsmen, invaded the town on Sunday.
According to a source, the pastor had escaped with some of his members to a safer area when they struck during the early morning service, but went back to check the state of the church after the attack, when the invaders shot and killed him.
“He escaped during the church service in the morning. He thought everything was calm and went back to check if the church was touched, when he was killed,” the source told Daily Post.
Hulobu who is survived by his wife and a child, is said to have organised a crusade programme billed to take place between April 13 and 15 in the church before the incident.
Kogi State has become a centre of renewed gunmen’s violence recently.
SaharaReporters on Monday reported that gunmen suspected to be herders killed several people and burned houses during a fresh attack in Oganenigu community in the Dekinal local government area of Kogi State.
A resident of the town who spoke to SaharaReporters on Sunday night lamented that the herders’ attacks had become routine, with no intervention from the government or security forces.
He said many people had been displaced to the neighbouring communities because of the attacks.
Yusuf Ojuwele and James Adah, the All Progressives Congress chairman for Oganenigu Ward were reportedly among those killed in the attack….

It is disgusting and barbaric what these armed Muslims are doing in Nigeria. All
adult Nigerian citizens should have national permission from their constitution or their government to carry a gun for self defense. (It is about 11 hours by car northeast from Lagos to the Kogi State and about 6 hours by car north from Benin City to the Kogi State.) The Fulani herdsmen are getting closer to the big cities. Not good at all. 😈

When I lived and worked in Abuja (2003 – 2006) as the senior Information Management Officer, I would often drive from Embassy in Abuja to the Consulate in Lagos but I not even sure if I would feel safe driving to and from the embassy housing area today. My wife’s job title was the “Special Coordinator” which fell under the political section and she spent a lot of the time being driven to a lot of places in the Housa speaking areas. Today it is not even permitted because of the dangers. I remember driving her to a newly built school in Plateau State funded in large part by a grant from the US and since it was on a weekend and we felt no danger (only worried about becoming lost) and it was a very special occasion. We would have dinner with the Emir of one of the Northern States when he was visiting Abuja. Today that would be impossible.
The security situation, especially for the Christian community in the Hausa States such as Plateau State has become so bad that I will be surprised if the southern states don’t secede from the sad state of affairs in Nigeria for them there. The only way to save the nation is to annihilate the Islamic Herdsmen and the ISIS related criminals but I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

To Ray Jarman- Thank you for that interesting account of your (and your wife’s) experiences in Nigeria 17 years ago. I am sure you would not be able to do now what you did then and still live to tell about it, assuming you and your wife are Christians.
It is such a shame too, that Nigeria is the richest country in Africa due to all things petroleum exports (crude, refined, gas) and yet has such inequality with respect to civil safety for all citizens regardless of their religion, and also with respect to Nigeria’s unbalanced economy for its poor and privileged classes. But these things can be adjusted to be fairer if those elected to the government want to fix them.
Please remember this famous saying from American author Mark Twain: “Loyalty to your nation – always. Loyalty to a government – when it deserves it.” Now ain’t that the truth? 🤗. Stay safe, and have a Happy Passover or Easter.
Ray Jarman says
Linde B., Thanks for the reply and have a Happy Passover or Easter to you also. Regarding the government being honest and fair, a Nigerian friend told me once that if an honest person were to run for high office, that person would not live to see the election results. It was true then and is more accurate today.
Linde B. says
To Ray Jarman- Wow, your friend told you that about Nigerian elections? Any nation that does not have free and fair elections is a hellhole in my opinion. Sickening. And I also think that Nigerians are very smart people too, so I do not understand how they can live under such hypocritical standards.
Thank you for your good wishes. I celebrate Easter.+

“Gunmen Suspected To Be Herdsmen ‘ Good grief! How about “mozlums, carrying guns, supplied by their mozlum-ruled government, murdered the poor man for being non-mozlum/
Probably the same skin color. Probably spoke the same language. But, he worshipped the God of the Bible and put faith in God’s Son. And for that, he was murdered.
These mozlum murderers give “herdsmen” a bad name.
Linde B. says
To somehistory- You are right, yet many of the herdsmen seem to be involved in the death squads killing Christians and non-Christians.
somehistory says
Perhaps all of the “herdsmen” currently in that nation are mozlum.
…but perhaps there are some still non-mozlum herdsmen in Africa someplace who herd cattle, but don’t go on killing sprees against Christians.
Perhaps there are even some Christians who have a few cattle, someplace.
The reporters should just quit with the herdsmen, and other words that hide, and say outright, they belong to the death cult known as islam.
Linde B. says
To somehistory- I agree. But you and I are not politically correct, so we could not be “journalists” in today’s “reporting” environment. 😝😭
OLD GUY says
Total agreement.
Mfon Inwang says
The herdsmen are all Mozlums
somehistory says
Most people who come to this site know that. But perhaps there are some readers of the source paper who do not realize it. so the “source” needs to say loud and clear that mozlums are the perps.

Lets talk about white supremacy. We white Americans, in the past, when our white cousins have needed help with maniacal killers have come to their aid. On the other side of the coin we have Africans in desperate need of help today so my question is, where is the help, the support? Where is the outcry? Will it ever come from their cousins, black Americans?I’m hearing a lot of silence regarding the carnage going on in Africa but I hear blacks in America have it really hard, so.
tgusa says
We also went to the aid of non whites who are not our cousins. Imperial Japan vs the Philippines, North Korea vs South Korea, North Vietnam vs South Vietnam. The only place among the three we had an obligation to aid was the Philippines.
somehistory says
The bm people are too busy raking in dough and complaining about how bad they have it, and how evil White people are, to even give a thought to little Black children in the U.s. who are being killed by other Blacks, much less to give a thought to African Blacks being slaughtered.
they just don’t care.
tgusa says
But if I dont go along with that I’m a terrible horrible most threatening on the planet white supremacist. Some people want me, a white supremacist, to ignore horrors going on in a place I have no obligation to care about. Imagine that. Oh well, I guess I am what they say I am.
somehistory says
I get called a lot of names…insulting kinds….but somehow, I just don’t give a fig. I once did care; I once did worry about it if someone seemed to not like me for some unknown reason. Caring didn’t stop those ones from insulting me or seeming to dislike me, and so seeing no future in worrying over it all, I just decided to not care.
Jesus was insulted and disliked, so that puts me in good company. Sounds like you are also.
