CVS is short for “Catholic vs.,” and has nothing to do with the pharmacy. This was a genial and wide-ranging personal conversation with a man with whom I disagree on a great deal, but we were still able to be civil, which is rare these days.

Vatican II Catholicism is Modernist, which has been condemned by many previous popes. Archbishop Lefebvre started the SSPX in order to preserve the true, traditional Catholic faith. SSPV was started in response to any compromise with the Vatican II church. You were persecuted by the Modernists of Vatican II, who reject the traditional Catholic faith, persecuted along with Archbishop Lefebvre, priests of the SSPX and the SSPV. I would hope that you could join the traditional movement and help preserve the true faith of traditional Catholicism.

Vatican I defined the infallibility of the Pope as having three requirements: 1. Officially as Vicar of Christ (Francis rejected that role, saying he is just the bishop of Rome); 2. On ethics and morals (i.e., the environment doesn’t apply, etc.); and, 3. As an obligation upon the entire church. The magisterium also cannot conflict with or abrogate the traditions/teachings/dogmas of the traditional faith they have received. We have NO obligation to follow anything that is not in line with the traditional faith. Vatican II is all “novelty.” Our mantra should be:
“But if it seem evil to you to serve the Lord, you have your choice: choose this day that which pleaseth you, whom you would rather serve, whether the gods which your fathers served in Mesopotamia, or the gods of the Amorrhites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.” [Josue (Joshua) 24:15]
