The remaining ISIS brides trapped in north-eastern Syria are looking to take legal action against the Australian Government for leaving them in limbo.
About 40 women, many who were stripped of their Australian passports after travelling to ISIS-controlled Syria, and their children, who are legal Australian citizens, say they feel let down by the government.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese last year brought home the first batch of ‘ISIS brides’ and promised to return the rest in later batches.
However, the Saturday Telegraph revealed no plans have been made for the remaining women’s resettlement almost seven months later.
Shayma Assaad, her mother Bessima Assaad, Mariam Dabboussy and Mariam Raad and their 13 children returned to Australia last year under a cloud of controversy.
One of their relatives now claims they see the government’s inaction for the remaining women as a ‘broken promise’.
‘(The government) have been indicating they want to bring them back but without providing any kind of timeline because now “is not a good time”,’ they said.
A team of lawyers with the assistance of Save The Children is looking to help 20 of the children still being held in Syria, as well as their mothers, file an Australia-first lawsuit in the Supreme Court.
The case will claim the women are being ‘detained’ by the Australian Government who have failed to bring them home from Syria.
If the case is brought to court, the women would be required to return to Australia to appear….

Well said, Keith O. I wonder whether the unpopularity of that move by the government in bringing back the first batch of women and children, I think it was 13, has caused the government to delay bringing these other scum of the earth ISIS women back to Australia. I’m pretty sure that they will wind up back here in the long run. Our authorities are bound to be too piss weak and they will end up polluting Australia with these vicious creatures. I do feel sorry for the kids but I can imagine how poisoned their minds are by now by their foul parents. Apart from anything else, once back in Australia, the taxpayers will have to pay a fortune, for years and years, trying to keep these ISIS scum under surveillance.

Keith O. You and Tim Gallagher leave little to be said. Why would any sane government wish to use such scum to defecate on its citizens. Were I an Aussie and living there, I would be crying for some like Johnny Howard as sane Americans are wishing for another Ronald Reagan to lead the government.

Thanks for the +1, Ray. This present Labor government have already brought back 13 of these ISIS brides and their children and it was very unpopular. I think that the unpopularity is why they are delaying on letting these ones back here. I am with you about both Howard and Reagan. I also liked Thatcher. All three did possess the courage of their convictions.

As you say, Keith O, I do tend to keep up with the news, especially on issues that seem important to me, although sometimes I am busy with other things, or I just get too annoyed with some of the garbage going on and have a bit of a break for a while. I’ll be annoyed if these ISIS types get back to Australia but I think it will happen in the long run.

They “decided” to go to a “certain state” in order to join a terror group which was murdering and enslaving innocent people and bragging that they were going to take over the world for islam. On “condition” that these women join up with this group, marry whichever terrorist wanted them, they broke laws and went to syria, knowing full-well that was before them.
If isis had done as they wanted, as they boasted and bragged they would do, these women would not be trying to guilt-trip governments into bringing them back…at government expense and at citizens’ risks.
If I held a law license and was involved in deciding, I’d say they don’t have a leg to stand on, much less grounds to sue.

I suspect, somehistory, that they will end up back in Australia. As I mention in my comment to Infidel it usually does seem to argued out here, by many people, that they are Australian citizens and we can’t leave them stateless so we will end up taking them back even though it is a pretty unpopular move with most Australians as you can imagine. Maybe, if the government gets the impression that it a really unpopular move to bring them back, then they might not do so. They might think that it might cost them too many votes in the next election.

Since “The Kerala Story” has been in the news for the last few weeks, one of the women in the story is in real life still in jail in Afghanistan, and in India, there has been complete opposition to allowing her back in (only her mom wants her back). The outrage in her case is that the guy who lured her into becoming an ISIS bride now runs a gourmet beef restaurant in the state, instead of being behind bars

Infidel, there would, without a doubt, be some members of the present Labor government in Australia who would want to bring these ISIS brides back to the country and probably all the Greens in parliament would want them to be brought back, but when they brought some ISIS brides and their children back a while ago, I think most people were not very impressed. I tthink that the unfavourable reaction by the majority of Australians would be making the government delay bringing them back for a while. Usually it seems to come down to the idea that they are Australian citizens and we are stuck with them and can’t leave them stateless.

‘Wrong’ for whom? Define ‘wrong’. As far as these females are concerned, things have already gone ‘wrong’ because they can’t legally invade Australia and continue with their Great Contamination which ‘right thinking’ Australians (and everyone else) want to avoid. But if they succeed in their appallingly impertinent and insolent action (muslims are good at that, aren’t they?) the resulting ‘wrong’ for all good Australians will be these ‘right’ for these women. But that’s always the case with these people, isn’t it? Whatever’s bad, disgusting, despicable or even outright evil to us seems to be what they live for despite all the transparent whitewash that they slap all over themselves. I believe that they call it the ‘clash of civilisations’, but since when was anything islamic ‘civilised’ by our standards? Maybe we’re expected to redefine ‘civilisation’ as well!

I actually don’t think these Muslimas would do any terrorist acts themselves. I have no doubt some of their children would when they grow up though.
