The Danes never considered that Ahmed el-Haj might have no interest in becoming a loyal citizen, and was seeking citizenship for practical reasons only. That would have been “Islamophobic.”
“He became a Danish citizen: As a ‘thank you’ he supported IS and shot at Fogh and Khader – now he is convicted of treason and terrorism,” by Karen Jespersen and Ralf Pittelkow, Den Korte Avis, May 3, 2023 (thanks to L.):
The empty cartridge casings flew out of the machine guns when the Danish citizen Ahmad el-Haj, together with three other jihadists from Denmark, shot at pictures of a number of well-known Danish personalities and politicians. The disgusting act was captured on video.
Among those who were shot at were the cartoonist Kurt Westergaard, Anders Fogh Rasmussen and Naser Khader. The video, allegedly recorded in Syria, was posted on YouTube in August 2013. Den Korte Avis wrote about it.
Now Ahmad el-Haj has been found guilty of treason and terrorism in the Copenhagen District Court. It has been reported by DR.
“I can inform you that it is a unanimous jury decision,” said presiding judge Karen Duus Mathiesen, according to DR.
32-year-old Ahmed el-Haj was charged in the case with having joined the Islamic State and for having participated in combat operations for the terrorist group during the armed conflict in Syria, to which Denmark was a party, for an extended period.
Ahmed el-Haj was also accused of other terrorist-related acts – among other things, because he took part in an IS propaganda video in 2013.
He was extradited from Turkey in 2019.
He is a Danish citizen and lived in Aarhus before traveling to Syria in 2013.
He was injured there, and today he is in a wheelchair.
A verdict in the case is expected on May 25.
The penalty in the case is up to life.
Ahmed el-Haj pleads not guilty.
His defense lawyer, Michael Juul Eriksen, can already say that he and his client are appealing the case to the High Court.
The latter comes as no great surprise. Many with a non-Western background who are sentenced in the Danish legal system have a tendency to appeal their sentences almost at the back of their mind. This, parenthetically noted, creates a serious strain on the Danish legal system.
Otherwise, Ahmed el-Haj is accused of no small things. Seen from Danish eyes, it is a shockingly serious matter that a person whom Denmark has accepted and granted citizenship so emphatically demonstrates his hatred for Denmark and for a number of Danish personalities.
As a member of the Islamic State, Ahmed el-Haj, according to the prosecutor’s office, participated in an armed struggle against Denmark, which was a party to the side fighting the terrorist state.

Denmark should have known better. This goes back to 2019:
The Official Apology From Denmark to the Muslim World, simply called “We’re Sorry!”
We´re sorry we gave you shelter when war drove you from your home country….
We´re sorry we took you in when others rejected you…..
We´re sorry we gave you the opportunity to get a good education…..
We´re sorry we gave you food and a home when you had none…..
We´re sorry we let you re-unite with your family when your homeland was no longer safe…
We´re sorry we never forced you to work while WE paid all your bills…..
We´re sorry we gave you almost FREE rent, phone, internet, car, and school for your 10 kids…
We´re sorry we built you Mosques so you could worship your religion in our Christian land…
We´re sorry we never forced you to learn our language after staying 30 years!….
And so….from all Danes to the entire Muslim world,we just wanna say;

Are the Danes going to maintain that status of being righteous among the nations?
