Sheer coincidence. And if you think it’s not, you’re a conspiracy theorist, election denier, DOJ denier and a spreader of disinformation who also needs to be investigated by the DOJ.
While the Biden admin and the Dems have mixed feelings about Manchin, they really don’t want to lose the WV Senate seat especially since, unlike Georgia, they’re not just going to be able to get it back by focusing on demographics and minority voter turnout. And that seat would prove to be quite crucial in holding on to the Senate.
What will the Biden administration and the hand inside the puppets do to hang on to it? You’re getting a taste of it.
If you thought election interference was bad in 2016 and 2020, hang on to your horses, this is going to be the big one. If the Dems can stay in power, they will transform the country. If they lose power, no one in the DOJ will actually go to jail, but some of those folks start to take the “lock ’em up” rhetoric seriously in no small part because they may not say “lock ’em up”, but they do mean it. So expect lots of investigations and the sheer operational power of their machine unleashing not just ballot harvesters but FBI agents and everyone willing to do their dirty deeds for them in exchange for a government job.
Nice life you have here, would be a real shame if something were to happen to it.

I thought that Manchin was going either (I) or (R). Didn’t think that he’d keep batting for (D), which is increasingly tough in WV. The DoJ is doing itself no favors by trying to rig WV: even a no-name Republican can win the state if Manchin doesn’t contest as a (D)

Manchin is finished in West Virginia (he should have declared himself at least an Independent if not a Republican two or three years ago but he foolishly missed this opportunity). And, as an “aside,” Merrick Garland is the most destructive Attorney General in American history—no contest even taking into account Holder and Lynch under Obama. He is beyond odious and has done his “bit” to destroy an impartial legal system. He should be reviled forever by all those who prize, cherish, blind justice.
West Virginia has flipped from reliably Democrat (e.g., in the 1980 Presidential election only six states went for Jimmy Carter over Ronald Reagan; West Virginia was one of these six states) to reliably Republican.
Rather like Vermont in the other direction, traditionally overwhelmingly Republican (e.g., the 1936 Presidential election), but which has flipped from reliably Republican to a solid vote for the major political party which is now, part and parcel, in the “business” of destroying America, i.e., the modern Democratic Party.
You can thank the exodus of doofuses from New York City and other metropolitan areas such as Boston for the likes of Bernie Sanders and Howard Dean regarding this “flip” in Vermont—“migrants” from what Thomas Jefferson recognized over two hundred years ago and that is that city people are the greatest threat to the resiliency and rugged independence that only small towns and the pure rural sector ensure.
Cities come with certain benefits like great restaurants and museums but they eventually exact a very high price for doing so, i.e., the optimal preservation of liberty. Jefferson knew this. Boy did he ever and just look where the main forces in the continuing destruction of America come from. Why, they come overwhelmingly from cities.
Yes indeed, just look at the difference geographically between blue and red America for confirmation of this hypothesis. The vast majority of fools still in the process of eviscerating America can be found in the twelve or so largest urban environments in the USA.
Oh yeah, cities come at a high price for the preservation of civilization, especially where liberty is concerned.
Do I want to abolish cities? Of course not. But I do very much wish they would be better understood respecting their strengths and weaknesses.

One thing I noticed is that Anchorage is a pretty red city in already red Alaska: had it been blue, it would have flipped the state, much like Vegas & Reno for Nevada. One of the things that depresses me is that even in ostensibly “Red” states like Georgia & North Carolina, cities like Atlanta & Charlotte are pretty blue
I was watching a report about crime in Atlanta being up some days ago, and police morale there being down. The thing that struck me: do states have a version of the 10th Amendment w/ regards to their cities/counties? What prevents Gov Brian Kemp from intervening and making sure that Mayor Dickens doesn’t make that city another ?hole like Chicago or San Francisco? I recall that in Texas, Gov Abbott prevented Mayor Steve Adler from making it a sanctuary city/allowing homeless encampments there. Couldn’t Kemp have done the same in Atlanta?
As for W Virginia, it’s amazing how it changed once the former KKKlansman Robert C Byrd – the prince of pork who made that state a state-of-the-art state in terms of infrastructure & amenities – retired & croaked: it’s never been the same since. I just wonder if Vermont can be similarly flipped, but alas: Phil Scott is just as left-field as other New England RINOs like Susan Collins, Charlie Baker, Lincoln Chafee & so on. In fact, even New Hampshire & Maine have been destroyed in the process

Good question about cities and counties with a 10th Amendment-like provision. One would have to examine each state’s constitution for specifics here but there is the feature of home rule in many states (e.g., Pennsylvania) that is enshrined in statutory law and which does guarantee municipalities a great deal of latitude.
As for a city like Anchorage, it gives one hope that perhaps at least some cities can retain common sense and a proper moral intelligence though I would hasten to add that such cities seem to belong to highly conservative states to begin with and are not removed as far from nature (nature regularly demonstrating that the facts of existence are conservative and not liberal) as almost all very blue cities are.

my understanding is that states have primo sovereignty…both w/the fed gov & counties who R also creatures of the state.

gershompesach: You have cited the theory, as enshrined in the 10th Amendment, but the 10th Amendment is now largely moribund as the federal government becomes more and more of an intolerant administrative phenomenon, ever growing and not concerned with the 10th Amendment, or many other amendments such as the 1st (listing freedoms), the 2nd, (gun rights) and the 4th (dealing with warrants and unreasonable searches and seizures—certainly violated in the raid on Trump’s home in Florida last August and on many, many other occasions).

Thank God under Obama rule Garland was blocked from becoming a supreme court judge ,his self life is limited if a Republican get elected president in 2024.
