The UN is a disgrace. It has not met the goals for which it was founded, and it will not do so. The U.S. should leave it and expel it from New York. But we would need a sane, America-First administration for that.
“Iran named vice president of UN General Assembly,” JNS, June 5, 2023:
Following Iran—a country that executes its citizens for “blasphemous” social-media posts—gaining leadership over a U.N. forum based on promoting human rights through technology, the Islamic regime in Tehran has now gained another position of influence within the international body dedicated to fostering peace: vice president of the General Assembly.
Israel’s Foreign Ministry called it “a shameful decision.”
It said: “In addition to murdering its own citizens, attacking innocents around the world and racing towards a nuclear weapon with the goal of wiping Israel off the map, Iran will now serve in a senior U.N. position.”
The ministry noted that Iran advocates for the elimination of Israel, a fellow member of the United Nations, saying “this decision, which defies all logic and reason, is an insult to the millions of Iranians protesting for their basic freedoms and to the justice, peace and global stability that the U.N. is supposed to stand for.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a short video with a simple message: “I have heard all of the reports about Iran. I have a sharp and clear message for both Iran and the international community: Israel will do whatever it needs to do to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.”…

It’s time for countries to start filing out of the UN. They’ve shown how effective they are in Ukraine, where they’ve had no hand in trying to resolve that war. Get rid of it, & all those “multilateral” bodies. Get back to the time honored practice of countries resolving their disputes among themselves, alone if they can, w/ allies if necessary

WHAT !!!!! ‘Filing out’ whilst their cheques are still in the post? You must be joking.

Yet again events have proven the prophecy of the John Birch Society. Long ago, in the early 1960s, the JBS began its Get Us Out the UN and the UN Out of the US campaign. No collection of collectivists have ever resulted in anything good or worthwhile. And so it goes with the UN – it and its supporters and apologists lust after world government and believe it to be within their grasp. And who can say they’re wrong. Bush 1, Clinton, especially Bush 2, Obama and now Biden are paving the way.
In truth, the JBS was never prophetic. Rather, it simply applied the lessons of history and extended the lines.
The JBS continues its Get Us Out campaign. More than de-funding the UN is necessary. Its elimination from our shores would be a solid first step. Let it go back to the League of Nations building in Geneva.

Whatever is wrong with the UN, and there is much wrong with it and the US should withdraw from it surely, referencing the John Birch Society by you, Frank Scarn is, to put it mildly, not the optimal way to proceed.
The JBS functions in Looney-Town mode again and again. Here is an example: Said society accused Dwight D. Eisenhower, the closest American in the 20th century to being in the mold of George Washington, of being part of an overall Communist conspiracy. And additionally, to the great credit of a great American, one William F. Buckley, Jr., a conservative to the core and the founder of National Review, Buckley long ago realized how extreme the JBS was and, laudably, read it out of mainstream conservatism (too bad the modern Democratic Party under creeps like Pelosi, Jeffries, the “Squad” and Biden have not done the same with the Far Left).
Whatever is the matter with America, and there is much wrong with it, it’s nothing the John Birch Society can fix otherwise than stumbling into the truth once in a while, rather like a stopped clock being correct two times in a 24-hour period.
Reconsider, that is if you are able.

U S should stop funding the U.N. But I doubt if the U.S goverment is going to have the political will to do so especially with Bidden administration

I barely believe this article (the world will do NOTHING) I have said for 20 years or more the UN is worthless and useless/worthless and an expensive con.
The ball is in America’s court that building on 2nd. Ave. should be shackled up and eventually turned into apartments. I blame America 100% it’s on their soil. Stop these criminals from ripping us all off. It’s a worthless joke. Go back to Nikki’s address to the ‘security’ council. She resigned shortly after as she knew she was talking to mindless cretins on the make.

When Rockefeller stepped in to fund the physical infrastructure for the UN, he went all in. The UN owns the land and building outright – it is not a tenant whose lease can be canceled.
The US could break its treaty obligations and cut off funding, but it is possible that other members, hostile to US interests, could pick up the slack in order to try to stay in NYC.
Invoking national security interests as a means of removing the freeloaders is certainly an option, taking the property by eminent domain, but would require an act of political will beyond current reality. Full employment for a lot of lawyers for a very long time. I am sure Mayor Adams and the Biden administration would jump at the chance to turn the whole property into a regugee center for illegal aliens.

The US could simply declare that all UN personnel on its territory are persona non grata, and that they’d no longer be allowed to use US territory to come to the US
Also, the Rockefeller grant does not mean that that territory is no longer US territory. Like all the farmland in the US that Chinese have bought – they’re not suddenly & miraculously a part of China. The US would have to sign a treaty ceding any territory. Have they done that for the Rockefeller Center?
Even if they did, the US could simply refuse to allow landing rights to people it doesn’t want there. They could make work in that building impossible
No, best thing to do is the US to withdraw from the UN, and tell the UN to pull out of the Rockefeller Center. Let them do their new headquarters in Geneva/Davos/Brussels/Beijing/London/Dubai or wherever else they please

Thank you to everyone here for your excellent comments; you are all critical thinkers. 🤗 ❤️ In my humble opinion, those
folks in our city, state and federal governments have pursued the almighty $ and have not been thinking critically on too many issues. 😫😭

75 years have passed since the formation of UNO. Yet it did not attempt to achieve the main objectives of the fathers who created it. The first, second, and fourth objectives are peace and tranquillity between nations. The third purpose is about hunger, famine, starvation, and disease. UNO is a silent spectator in the matter of Russia invading Ukraine and distressing People of Afghan and North Korean governments
UNO should be interested in achieving its four main objectives.
According to a report released by the Open Doors, the organization is that one in 12 Christians worldwide is persecuted: 11-Jan-2018 — About 215 million Christians are being persecuted due to their faith around the world. In this regard, the UNO is also a silent spectator.
But, the UNO is only concerned with homosexuals, transgender people, and abortion. UNO is going the other way. UNO is acting against its purpose. United Nations Organization has deviated from its primary purpose, so UNO must be abolished.

The UN was a good idea gone BAD.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
Not really. From the very inception, the idea that every country would have an equal vote, other than the 5 permanent members, was flawed. Essentially, it meant that the vote of a powerful country like the US was equivalent to that of a weak country like Lesotho. The vote of a rich country like Saudi Arabia was equal to the vote of a poor country like Zimbabwe. The vote of a country w/ a large population like India was equal to that of an almost empty country like Niger
There are something like 50 muslim countries, which contribute towards making islam an even more formidable bloc than communism ever was. Their power is not much, if countries like US, Russia, India, China, all had actively anti-islamic regimes. But in the UN general assembly, these 4 would just have 4 votes, as opposed to 50 by the muslims
We also need to get away from the idea that more countries are a bad thing, or that one way of all countries doing things are great
Noah Andeark says
In the 1980’s animated movie “Heavy Metal”, the UN was converted into low-income housing.
