On Friday, June 16, a Muslim mob attacked police in Junagadh, Gujarat, after receiving a notice from the Municipal Corporation about illegal encroachment on the walls of a dargah, an Islamic religious structure. The members of the dargah were directed to submit proof of ownership of the land within five days. Instead of going the legal way, they brought in members of their community to gather near the dargah. The assembly comprised 500-600 women and men and vandalized government and public vehicles. Several minors also partook in the mob violence. They threw stones at police vehicles and a public bus, breaking its windows with sticks. The mob closed the bus door from outside, as they planned to set it afire. The driver, a Muslim named Asif, told the media that the mob allowed him to disembark only after he revealed his Muslim identity. They then torched bikes parked near the dargah and attacked pedestrians. Four policemen and a Hindu civilian were injured in the process.
According to the FIR, officials reached the spot and asked the mob to present their points legally instead of creating unrest. The furious crowd paid no attention to the appeals of the police, resorted to sloganeering and launched attacks upon government officials. Heard during the mayhem were Muslim slogans including “Nara-e-Takbir, Allahu akbar.” At the same time, some also said “Burn everything,” “Police ko maro” (hit the police), and “Koi Jinda Nahi Bachna Chahiye” (no one shall be spared alive). Some Muslims also encouraged others, saying, “If we kill the police, no one will come our way.”
Commenting on the matter, Commissioner Rajesh U. Tanna said that the dargah authorities have failed to produce any documents claiming ownership. “It will be decided whether the land possession is correct or not only after the documents are obtained,” he added.
After repeatedly asking the crowd to maintain peace, the police were compelled to retaliate against the Muslim mob. They were forced to employ lathi charge and use tear gas to disperse the violent mob.
Soon, Muslim propagandists swarmed the Internet and disseminated videos of the police action on all social media avenues, with a convoluted explanation. The Internet was rife with false claims that the police were flogging innocent Muslim protestors and complained that flogging could not be practiced in a civilized society. They also peddled the narrative that Muslim structures were arbitrarily targeted, while the fact is that municipal notices seeking evidence of ownership were sent to many religious sites, including three Hindu temples, namely, Hanumanji Temple, Shantashwar Road, Joshipura, Judwa Hanumanji Temple, Vanjawad, and Jalaram Temple, Nilgagan Apa. However, no mayhem or violence by the Hindu community vehemently protesting the government’s order has been reported so far. Police filed a FIR against 31 accused in this case, all of them Muslims; 180 individuals were detained later.
Public flogging, a widespread practice and familiar picture in most Islamic countries, is undoubtedly not practiced by the Indian police. However, the lathi charge is a standard measure adopted by the forces to control unruly crowds, regardless of their faith and background. And the police, in this case, were compelled to resort to lathi charges only after the murderous Muslim mob launched fatal attacks on them and civilians.
Muslims have claimed land in other parts of Gujarat, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh by erecting fake religious structures without owning the land upon which they are built. Once a religious system is built, it becomes an easy matter for the Islamic Waqf board to claim unchallenged authority over the land. This has been continuing in India for decades.
Another major spot in Gujrat that suffered land-grabbing by Islamic groups is the island town of Bet Dwarka. The island has held major religious significance for Hindus since antiquity. It would not be misleading to say that Bet Dwarka is to the Hindus what Medina is to the Muslims. While the Muslims refuse to allow non-Muslims to set foot on the land of Mecca, they have populated the island of Bet Drwaka in unchecked numbers.
Addressing the growing land jihad in the island, the state tourism Minister Purnesh Modi tweeted: “In 1945, then rural Gaikwad (dynasty) had given 20X20 meter space to Muslims. According to the 1960 census, Muslim voters were 600 and Hindus 2786; with time, the Hindu population on the island should be 6,000 and Muslims 1200; instead, the Hindu population has dwindled to 960, and the Muslim population has increased to 6040.”
He also added that there had been a sudden increase in mosques, mazar and dargahs, suggesting that most of them are illegal and encroaching upon government land. The minister further reported instances of love jihad and forcible conversion, and claimed that the island had become a hub for smuggling. Bet Dwarka’s Ramzan Palani was arrested in a case involving the seizure of 237kg of narcotics at Narayan Koteshwar in the Kutch district in 2019. Another history-sheeter of Bet Dwarka is Talab Jadeja, who was arrested for smuggling cannabis and marijuana. The state authority has started to come down heavily on this now familiar tactic of land-grabbing, which in turn has started to anger the Islamic masterminds.

World is biased to violence and democracies are most affected. Countries with dictatorial monorchs do not face this mob violence problem because even if one person shows dissent, he will be shot and burried. No news paper can publish such news.
