On June 27, the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) held a press conference after five Somali women were killed in a car crash in Minneapolis. “Lake Street crash victim’s families grieve, call for ‘independent investigation,’” by Rob Olson, Fox 9,
Since the crash Derrick Thompson, 27, has been charged in their deaths, but community leaders want an independent investigator to see if law enforcement response played a role.
Thompson is charged with 10 state felonies for the deaths, plus federal gun and drug charges after being accused of going 95 mph on I-35W in a rented SUV before exiting at Lake Street and plowing into the young women’s car.
But CAIR wants to blame the police.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations is calling for the governor to appoint an independent investigator into law enforcement’s role.
In addition, community leaders have since also called for a ban on high-speed pursuits.
The state patrol says in charges that Thompson was already going a high rate of speed, and the trooper who clocked him was trying to catch up to him, unable to initiate a chase.
Nevertheless, TV stations, such as WCCO, are willing to play along with CAIR. Listen to the news anchors frame this story as being about “justice.” No one is buying CAIR’s call for an investigation of the police as justice. The big four local broadcasters WCCO, KARE, KMSP, and KSTP, left it to ABC affiliate KAAL to report a response from the police association:
Yesterday CAIR-MN and other groups held a press conference indirectly placing blame on police causing the car crash where Derrick Thompson killed five young women in Minneapolis. Thompson was driving over 95 mph when his car crashed into the vehicle the five victims were riding in and was charged with 10 counts of criminal vehicular homicide in the case. Police did not initiate a chase and cannot be said—in any way—to be responsible for Thompson’s actions.
The Police Association went on to say:
We demand justice and accountability for his actions of over 95 mph speeding, when his car crashed into the five victims, fleeing the scene, lying to police, carrying a gun, narcotics, and more. It is disingenuous for CAIR, and other groups to diminish Thompson’s actions by seeking to blame others rather than Thompson himself.
As this story demonstrates that CAIR is not here to help. They are here to fight with society and carve out concessions for their constituency. The TV stations are willing accomplices in this endeavor.
We will have to wait and see if TV stations will report on Minnesota Public Safety Commissioner Bob Jacobson’s statement that there will be no further investigation of the police.
In a written response, however, Minnesota Public Safety Commissioner Bob Jacobson made it clear that he did not believe an independent probe was needed or would be undertaken in connection with the crash itself.
Jacobson reiterated that his agency has been “in full compliance with the investigation” into the crash and that Thompson was not being pursued by the state trooper.
The criminal complaint by Hennepin County prosecutors “answers many of the questions that community members have raised about this incident,” he added, noting that the U.S. Attorney’s Office also “reviewed the full incident” before filing federal charges against Thompson.
It is unlikely that any TV station would end a story such as that of the Lake Street car crash on a note that makes CAIR look as venal, hostile, and contemptuous of the police and the broader public as it actually is. TV stations around the country want to help CAIR. The Lake Street car crash story is just one of a number of outrageous TV appearances of CAIR in the month of June.
CAIR started the month slow, but finished with a burst of activity.
On June 1, CAIR’s Amy Doukoure announced she was suing the Kent County Sheriff’s Office. This is CAIR’s seventeenth TV attack of the year, and a further example of CAIR using the hijab to create special laws for special classes. It is perfectly reasonable for a jail to search something like a hijab. Nevertheless, CAIR occasionally finds success trying to change prison policy this way. But, do not expect the TV to do a follow-up if CAIR loses their law suit.
On June 2, Joan Ditomaso told Maya Jamaleddine to mind her own business. Well, you don’t do that to Maya Jamaleddine, unless you want to be hit with a hate crime charge. The city of Melrose, Massachusetts decided to only charge Ditomaso with assault, but the whole thing doesn’t even rise to that level either. CAIR is representing Jamaleddine in court, and of course, they are handling the publicity. This is CAIR’s second attack of the month, and the eighteenth of the year.
Also on the June 2, CAIR defended CUNY commencement speaker Fatima Mousa Mohammed, calling her critics “Islamophobes.”
On June 9, CAIR National’s Deputy Executive director Edward Ahmed Mitchell announced on social media that CAIR was opening a new branch in North Carolina. He proudly recapped CAIR’s record in North Carolina, which included trying to pressure Shaw University to stop developing their property.
On June 10, CAIR was on Sound Vision Foundation’s Muslim Network TV. Abdul Malik Mujahid runs Sound Vision. He was the man who held an event at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas called “Stand with the Prophet” in response to the murders of the Charlie Hebdo Muhammad cartoonists in France. This is what prompted the American Freedom Defense Initiative to hold a Muhammad art exhibit and cartoon contest at the same Culwell Center; where ISIS irregulars, egged on by the FBI, attacked attendees.
On June 12, CAIR got involved in a very strange story about two bodies found in the burned-down home of a man who said he had been the target of gunshots and racist graffiti. CAIR had nothing to do with this, but tells us of its “concerns.” There are no CAIR broadcasts depicting the organization assisting in counterterror efforts. Instead, CAIR representatives get on TV over things like this story, which just is not their job at all.
Also on June 12, WTTG in Washington, D.C. crafted a story about CAIR demanding an apology from Montgomery County Council member. This was a diversion from the real story, which was about Muslims protesting against the gay agenda taught in public schools. Stations such as WTTG gave a lot of attention to the protests outside the Montgomery County School Board and featured CAIR and Zainab Chaudry exclusively in the broadcasts, never even mentioning the other members of the coalition, which included Family Rights for Religious Freedom.
By the 14th, CAIR was on Pakistani TV sounding the alarm about 98% of the names on the Terrorist Screening Database being Muslim. This didn’t run in the U.S., however. Apparently, even the compliant American media is not going to run with the idea that the TSDB is a product of racism.
On the 20th, everyone ignored CAIR’s attempts to use the TV to pressure Shaw University into not developing its real estate. Edward Ahmed Mitchell with his back to the camera was a fitting end to CAIR’s campaign.
On the 26th, CAIR was on television 4 times:
- An appearance on al Jazeera talking about the TSDB list gain. This time in Arabic.
- Two broadcasts about the Lake Street car crash.
- And a story about CAIR issuing lip service supporting Jews, saying they stand in “unwavering solidarity with the Jewish community.” In that vein, here is an interesting article from the Jewish News Service about CAIR’s unwavering criticism of Israel since joining Biden’s effort to combat anti-Semitism.
On the 27th, there were two CAIR broadcasts. One was about the FBI finally arresting Marian Hudak for years of espousing racism, including getting on a load speaker at a Sam’s Club to shout invective at blacks and Hispanics. CAIR’s National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper got on the broadcast to remind us that “if you do the crime, you might have to do the time.” He has nothing to do with anything covered in the broadcast. This was CAIR’s fourth attack in June and the twenty-first for the year.
Finally, there is a very confusing story about CAIR Oklahoma board member Masood Abdul-Haqq resigning from a committee after they agreed to have the Ten Commandments posted in public school classrooms. It was never explained why the Ten Commandments would offend anyone’s sensibilities. But given the fact that Abdul-Haqq has contributed to a book about the innocence of H. Rap Brown, aka cop-killer Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, and that his wife is full of racial grievance about George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Trayvon Martin, Emmett Till, etc., who knows what the Abdul-Haqq family might believe about the Ten Commandments.
June was a slow month for CAIR. It might not even make 30 TV appearances this month. But CAIR representatives made up for that by making five separate TV attacks against individuals and the police: that is more than one attack every week. They also made two irrelevant news appearances, one fake news broadcast about a “demand,” paid lip-service to the Jewish community, and made two foreign language broadcasts about the TSDB.
This year’s targets so far, once again including ordinary people among genuinely noxious forces such as Nazis:

With the wish to make the police guilty in the deaths of the five mozlum women, the hamas-linked mozlum group, under the umbrella of the mozlum brotherhood, wants to claim that it’s a ‘phobia’ and gain more attention and special consideration…sympathy, and whatever other concessions they can grab.
Five deaths and ten charges of homicide. Why the double charges?

somehistory,
Perhaps CAIR is also looking for someone to sue – with deep pockets.
somehistory says
Yes, james. that too….they are a lying and greedy bunch.

Exactly

Thank you, Spiro

“CAIR is not here to help.”
That says not all.

CAIR is a terror organization. Its officers, members, and supporters are terrorists. They should be treated as terrorists.

Yes…it’s obvious to JW readers, but too many are still clueless, and will remain so.

Derrick Thompson is black, the victims are black, that is reason enough for CAIRless to blame the cops.
A black killing blacks doesn’t fit the narrative of dem nasty police hating blacks and dem poor innocent mudslimes.
Also, if these slimeballs can blame the police, it then opens the way for a wrongful death case in court.

In my last piece, I wondered if CAIR was going to have 30 TV appearances in June. After all, they had only 3 days to make 9 broadcasts, but they did it.
There were 7 broadcasts in 2 days about Connecticut State Rep. Maryam Khan being assaulted by Andrey Desmond.
“Man charged with assaulting and trying to kiss Muslim lawmaker after Eid prayer in Connecticut” NBC Connecticut WVIT, June 30, 2023
“No plea has been made, but during Desmond’s arraignment Thursday, his attorney said Desmond had a history of mental health issues, including spending six months at an in-patient facility in New York. Muslim civil rights leaders in Connecticut expressed disappointment that a hate crime wasn’t among Desmond’s charges, and they’re calling for authorities to look deeper into the possibility that the attack was motivated by Khan’s faith.
“Representative Khan and her family were wearing hijabs, Muslim headscarves,” said Farhan Memon, chair of the Connecticut Council on American-Islamic Relations. “One doesn’t have to say the words, ‘I’m attacking you because you’re a Muslim.’ … We hope that instead of simply treating this as an assault, that the state actually brings bias charges.”
Two officers had been stationed at the event the morning of the 4,000-person prayer service, police confirmed, but Memon feels police should have had more of a presence in the area.
“We as an organization feel very strongly that there was inadequate police protection, given an event this size,” he said. “The cops were nowhere to be found when this incident was happening.”
But Hartford Police Lt. Aaron Boisvert said the attack occurred almost an hour after the event had ended, and the officers’ shifts had ended by then. Those that ultimately responded were from a different division, he said.”
Again, the patterns remain consistent with CAIR having nothing to contribute to this story other than their reaction to it, and blaming the police.
The remaining two broadcasts were about the Lake Street Car Crash, and the vandalism of an Islamic center in New Mexico. – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4WWRTFe1nE
CAIR is on TV every day. For example, according to my records CAIR has been on TV –
313 times in 2022
441 times in 2021,
277 times in 2020,
and 451 times in 2019.
For a total of 1,482 broadcasts about CAIR. But 4 x 365 is only 1,460.
They are on TV every day. They are never newsworthy, and try to harm people several times each month.
I don’t know how much longer they can continue this way, particularly if people start remarking on these indisputable facts about the Council on American Islamic Relations.

Thank you for keeping track of these malevolent acts from CAIR. It is valuable.

Always got to be to play the “Victimhood” card. They’ll take this nonsense in UK?Europe. It will wear very thin in the USA. Ought to take CAIR to court & sue them for false, malicious & slanderous/libelous prosecutions.
A right pain in the A**!!
OLD GUY says
All you have to do is realize that CAIR’s purpose is ti disrupt our society and install islamic rule on Americans. Thompson was breaking the law and whether the police were in pursuit of him makes no difference for his criminal actions. The death of these five women rests on his shoulders.
