When has Pope Francis ever said he was “indignant and disgusted” over Islamic jihad violence? Why, never. He has never acknowledged that Islamic jihad violence even exists, and instead has insisted counterfactually that “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Qur’an reject every form of violence.”
“Pope Francis decries the burning of the Quran in Sweden,” Vatican News, July 2, 2023:
In an interview with the United Arab Emirate’s daily ‘Al-Ittihad,’ Pope Francis laments the burning of the Quran, Islam’s holiest book, in Sweden, while urging individuals take to heart the values promoted in the Document on Human Fraternity.
“I feel indignant and disgusted by these actions,” Pope Francis expressed to Hamad Al-Kaabi, editor of the UAE’s daily Al-Ittihad, regarding the burning of copies of the Quran in Sweden in recent days.
“Any book considered sacred by its authors must be respected out of respect for its believers, and freedom of expression must never be used as an excuse to despise others, and to allow this, must be rejected and condemned.”
Al-Itthad is an Arabic language newspaper published daily in the United Arab Emirates. It is part of the Abu Dhabi Media group, a government organization….
The Pope, recalling his visit to Abu Dhabi in 2019, expressed appreciation for the Commitment of the UAE and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for the path taken to spread brotherhood, peace and tolerance, and called for young people not to be left by adults in the grip of mirages and clashes of civilisations.
“In my opinion, the only way to protect young people from negative messages and false and fabricated news, and from the temptations of materialism, hatred and prejudice, is not to leave them alone in this battle, but to give them the necessary tools, which are freedom, discernment and responsibility.
“Freedom,” he continued, “is what distinguishes a person. God created us free even to reject Him, freedom of thought and expression are essential to help them grow and learn.”
“We must never fall into the experience of treating young people as children incapable of choosing and making decisions,” the Pontiff continued, “they are the present and investing in them means guaranteeing continuity,” always following the golden rule of doing to others what you would like to be done to you….

No Golden Rule in Islam. Only apartheid and ruthlessness:
Muslims are merciful to one another and ruthless to the unbeliever, Koran 48:29
“Let them find harshness in you” (K.9:123, part of Islamic law)
Linde B. says
To Michael Copeland- Thank you for citing this verse: 48:29. I was unaware of it until now.
As far as the so-called pope is concerned, why hasn’t he given condemnation to Islam and its followers for the murder of innocent Christians in Nigeria? 😈
I am a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, so I have
nothing to do with the Roman Catholic Church. But nobody can stop me from writing a civil letter to this pope as to why he constantly speaks out for Islam but says nothing about the slaughter of Christians by Islamists.

Needs saying. Pope Francis needs a reality check.

Well, we can all see to whom he was talking, so I suppose he has to say that especially after (if I recall correctly) some charming disciple of the Great and Mighty Prophet already threatened to do to St. Peter’s what we probably correctly presume they did to Notre Dame in Paris. However, what’s it got to do with the Pope, or anyone else, what the Swedes decide to do in Sweden? it’s not even a Catholic country!

He is not an apologist for Islam because he is Catholic, rather he is a leftist. Leftists usually apologize for Islam and blame the Christians and Jews. Not surprising. Is he afraid of reprisals, or he simply whistling in the dark?

This idiot, lying creature, pretends to represent Jesus Christ. He references “the Golden Rule” without saying from Whom it came as a ***command*** and without ever saying “Bible.”
Jesus condemned the Pharisees for “gagging at the gnat and gulping down the camel.” What would Jesus say to this false shepherd about his defense of evil? *Defending demonic evil.*
The book which mozlums worship is packed full of evil filth. The demands made upon people who read and follow it, are demonic….’strike the necks, strike fear, kill, hate, treat with unkindness (as quoted above by MC, finding harshness is the opposite of being kind), take all of the slaves for sex your hand can find, never make friends, pretend to be friends while waiting for the right opportunity to kill, ‘
And this lying false prophet, false shepherd, condemns the burning, but what about the burning that came after? What about the threats of death made by his fellow mozlum followers?
What about the riots and burning in France? What about the attacks on the two priests by mozlums? Where is the condemnation of those? What about those things is a following of “The Golden Rule”?
The pope creature is a friend of mozlums, a friend to the entire mozlum world.
The Apostle James said, “One making himself a friend of the world, is constituting himself an enemy of God.” Jesus Christ said, “You are my friends if you obey my commandments.”
This false shepherd who pretends to serve Christ, is in deep trouble, but way too arrogant to see just how deep his trouble is.
No one who wishes to be a “friend” of Christ, should pay attention to the words of the false shepherd, pretending to *know* what God wills, and yet, “making himself and enemy of God.”
James Lincoln says
Yes, somehistory.
This horrific Pope is a “false shepherd”.
Anyone with a functioning brain should not listen to anything that he says.

Jame Lincoln,
This pope grew up in Argentina at a time when Nazism was fairly popular. That might explain his affinity for totalitarian islam. Just sayin. I wonder if the pope would get angry if someone burned a copy of Mein Kamph?

Truly he is antichrist evil.

Brilliant letter. Totally agree. The Koran has none of God’s commandments, it is a litany of evil from satan. Time is coming where Christians and others will have to draw a line.

Uh huh. And the model man for all humanity, Islam’s Prophet Mohammad, was a man of peace and good will toward all mankind, who never said “I have been made victorious by terror.”
How about a “proper” understanding of the life of the allegedly “authentic” Mohammad?

“violence against Christians. Muslims may start demolishing churches.”
“may start”? The “start” was a long, long time ago. He is silent on that. he is also silent on the slaughter going in places like nigeria, kenya, sudan, etc. although he must have heard of it.
No pity from me, as I believe he does know what is happening to Christians in Africa, pakistan, and other places where mozlums rule; I also believe he knows what he is “speaking,”…he just doesn’t know The God he pretends to represent.

I wonder if he felt just as bad and disgusted when in April-May 2002, Muslim terrorist took over the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem and were besieged by Israeli army troops. While there they took possession of the food that was in the church and tore pages from a copy of the New Testament using it for toilet paper.
I’m thinking, he probably did not feel bad or disgusted.
John Smith says
He knows alright as to what is happening in these countries. He’s been preaching what a beautiful peaceful religion is, since day he became Pope. He may well not of known the truth in the beginning, but he most definitely knows it now. After all these years someone must of told him the truth about islam. But rather than admit he was wrong, he continues with the lie just to save face.

To Athmanathan Seetharaman-Respectfully, I disagree with you. I think Pope Frankie knows exactly what he is saying about Islam, and says what he says on purpose to enable the moneybags of Islam to give him and his minions a nice $$$ kickback, anonymously of course. I might be incorrect, but that is what I think. Prove me wrong!

This Pope’s attitude towards islam is a disgrace. There have been clear sighted Popes in the past who called islam out as the unmitigated evil that it is. Christians are still being murdered by Muslims day after day, and yet this disgraceful Pope keeps defending islam and its murderous Muslims. Maybe this Pope is as senile and as much off with the pixies as Joe Biden is. There is really no excuse for his ignorance about islam which he calls “peaceful”, which it never has been and never will be. islam and the Koran do not deserve respect.

Wellington says
Pope Francis is indignant and disgusted? Well, that’s the way I feel about this monumental farce of a Pope.
And there is almost certainly worse to come after this SOB’s death because he has appointed many bishops and cardinals who think as he does.
The old Catholic Church is dead and it’s never coming back. It had a good run of some two thousand years but that old fool, John XXIII (1958-1963), did just about the stupidest thing a person can do and that is fixing something that wasn’t broken.
Vatican II (1962-1965), called by this silly old man, John XXIII, started the real rot in the Catholic Church and Francis is a horrible result, though there are many other examples of just how destructive Vatican II has proven to be, examples being the idiotic turning around of altars, the ever annoying and silly “let us offer each other a sign of peace,” and the evisceration of the Latin Mass. The Protestant Reformation of the 16th century, in retrospect, was a gift to Catholicism (because it forced the Church to largely clean up its act) compared to what Vatican II has done to the Roman Catholic Church, i.e., it destroyed it and an execrable creature like Pope Francis is one of many results of a self-inflicted wound.
RIP old Catholicism. You are dead for all time. Tragic not just for religion but for all of Western Civilization.
tim gallagher says
What you say is interesting, Wellington. i am a Christian and a lapsed Catholic. I am maybe more of an Anglican these days because I disagree with the obligatory celibacy for clergy in the Catholic Church and also I believe there should be women priests. I am, probably because I am getting old and have been thinking about becoming a better person and trying to reach salvation, and I feel at home in the Catholic religion and will probably stick with it, so I ahve been thinking about going to confession and going to mass again and trying to live that kind of life again and see if I can improve as a person.. I don’t mind at all the modern Mass. Having the Mass said in Latin never made sense to me. I even learnt latin at school, but having the mass in latin always seemed like mysterious mumbo jumbo. Things have changed a lot. I think people have walked away frrom the old style, pretty severe church these days. i looked up a few things. i thought that confession seemed to have disappeared to some degree. Apparently 35% of Catholics never go to confession , or reconciliation as it is now called, in the USA. same in Australia no doubt. About 37% go to mass every sunday in the USA. In Australia, it said only 12% go to mass very Sunday, which I think must be too low a number to be true. Anyway, things do change. I guess people do believe in a more mellow, loving kind of God. I can recall a pretty severe type of scary God from my young days and some severe types of priests. I’ll probably give going back to the catholic Church a go, though I’ll probably have to spend a hours and hours confessing all my innumerable sins after 15 or 20 years away from the church. I’m hoping to improve and somehow, miraculously, be able to be accepted into Heaven one day. Like you, I find that this Pope is hopeless on islam’s nature. I keep thinking he must think that, if he says islam is peaceful, somehow it might actually improve. To see islam become peaceful would be about the biggest miracle ever.
Wellington says
Thanks for your reply, tim gallagher. My best to you as you explore your options with respect to religion. Such choices are invariably very personal, as they were meant to be.
On the specific matter of the Latin Mass, just from an aesthetic point of view I would contend it is very worthwhile and it used to be a unifying language for Catholics around the world. I have no problem with Mass in the vernacular but Vatican II has been used to essentially destroy the Latin Mass. Both John Paul II and Benedict XVI tried to bring it back, especially Benedict, but the current pontiff has nixed that.
I still maintain that Vatican II did great harm, one of its greatest is the contention that all the major religions have valid revelatory elements. This has allowed for the foolish and destructive welcoming of Islam as one the three Abrahamic faiths, etc.—and which is a lie. Islam was not accorded in Catholic doctrine any respect until Vatican II (indeed many Christian theologians like Thomas Aquinas condemned it outright). No longer.
tim gallagher says
Thanks for the reply, Wellington. I suspect that you are right about Vatican II. It seems to have fostered wishy washyness. It is so long ago since we had the latin mass that I can barely remember it. My mother, who was a religious person and genuinely an almost saintly person, surprised me by telling me that she preferred the Latin Mass. I thought that it must have been something to do with the element of mystery or grandeur that had impressed her.
One thing that I will never understand, at least since I have looked into islam’s nature a bit, because back when I knew bugger all about islam back in the early 1990s I recall that I used to think islam was just another pleasant enough religion, how Christian leaders can go on with so much bullshit about how islam deserves respect and all that nonsense. islam is soaked in blood and is evil to the core, so this Abrahamic garbage means nothing to me. Evil and barbaric is evil and barbaric.
I hope you are going well these days.

SomeHistory, This sorry excuse for a pope seems ignorant of the fact that neither Paul nor Peter ever expressed his wish to kill the non-believers unlike the pedophilic mass murdering monster (who was a made-up character as Robert Spencer has explained many times). This clown who resides at the Vatican should read a little history about the slave trade of Europeans and the slaughter of Greeks, Spaniards those poor souls of the Balkans by followers of the Un-Holy book. To tim gallagher- I can recall to this day
my high school World History teacher in 1966-1967 stating that “Islam is known as the ‘Religion of Peace’” when we were studying the unit on “Major World Religions”.
But if I wrote to the New York State Board of Regents today and asked them to tell history teachers to stop saying that sentence, citing the outbreaks of murders by Islamists in the past decades, do you think they would? High school history teachers should be told to quote verses 9:5 and 8:12 of the Quran to give an accurate summation of Islam. But I HIGHLY DOUBT THEY WOULD BE TOLD TO DO THAT. 😩😝

I am indignant and disgusted that the pope passes as a Christian!
He considers that the Qur’an is holy because Muslims consider it to be holy! By that standard the telephone catalogue (if such thing still exists) may be considered holy by those who have invested their efforts in producing it!
Mr Pope, can you please quote one verse, just one from the Qur’an which deserves to be called holy?
The values you express are Christian in nature, like man being created free to even reject God! Don’t you understand that this is a Christian reality which has nothing to do with Islam? Don’t you understand that in Islam apostasy is punishable by death?
Mr Pope, you have chosen the wrong career. You should have become a diplomat. (A diplomat is an honest man lying abroad for the good of his country).
If you believed in truth you would find no basis for your “brotherly dialogue” with the Muslim leaders as you would find nothing that Christianity has in common with Islam including the claim that Islam is an Abrahamic religion. It is as empty claim as the claim that the Qur’an is holy!
Linde B. says
To Goofy- I love love love your comments of July 5, @ 4:55 am, and thank you for them. You really made it clear without being nasty or sarcastic that pope Francis has Islam all wrong. What he should do is ask Muslims to make a compare/contrast between the doctrines of Christianity and Islam. This way pope Francis is not “attacking” the persons who believe in Islam, but is targeting the doctrines of Islam so Muslims can see what they believe and endorse are not from any god that is “good” and “holy”.
