As George Carlin said, it’s a big club, and you aren’t in it. Princeton doesn’t care that Malley is an inveterate appeaser who has a clear affinity for Hamas and the Islamic Republic of Iran. If he were unsympathetic to either one or both, Princeton wouldn’t want him. And if the Princeton gig doesn’t work out for Malley, there’s always MSNBC.
“Malley, on leave from US Iran envoy post, to teach at Princeton,” Reuters, August 16, 2023:
WASHINGTON, Aug 16 (Reuters) – Robert Malley, who in June was put on unpaid leave from his post as U.S. special envoy for Iran because his security clearance is under review, will teach a course on foreign policy at Princeton University this fall, Princeton said on Wednesday….
U.S. President Joe Biden tapped Malley in January 2021 to try to revive the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, under which Tehran agreed to limit its nuclear program to make it harder to obtain a nuclear weapon in return for economic sanctions relief.
Malley was not able to resurrect the agreement…
Princeton’s School of Public and International Affairs said in a statement that Malley would teach a graduate course this fall on foreign policy decision-making and one or two undergraduate courses on some combination of diplomacy, negotiation, and foreign policy in the spring.
“While I am on leave from the State Department, I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with the next generation of public servants,” Malley said in the statement. “I look forward to my time at Princeton and returning to government service in due course.”
It is unclear when or how the review of Malley’s security clearance may be concluded. According to media reports, Malley’s clearance was suspended amid an investigation of his handling of classified material.

Another ugly inside-and-out snake. “classified material,” and he wasn’t a President of the U.S.
No prob. He’s on the side of evil, so the “classified material mishandled” will go into the forgotten machine to be chewed up and never prosecuted.

Why not just jump to conclusions and false equivalences without knowing the facts?

He may be somewhat of a scumbag and I certainly don’t support him in any way.
Nevertheless, there is no reason to equate his actions to those of ex-President Trump. At the moment it looks like apples and oranges — both are fruit but that may be as far as the comparison goes. Hopefully more will be disclosed in due course.
somehistory says
it’s clear, rarely, that you are anti-Trump….even though you live in another country and many Americans liked the way he was making changes….changes that would not directly affect you.
so, to you, it’s unfair if someone anyone is compared to Trump in the way I did.
A misuse of “classified materials” by anyone is a “misuse.” However, as President, he had some authority to decide which were “classified” and which were not….unlike this snake who is now going to “teach” his unlawful methods to young people.
Besides the facts of biden hiding documents all over the place…even in his car in his garage…and nothing has been held against him by the Court.
this guy abused his position. He should be held accountable.

Of course this jerk should be held to account for his actions. I suspect his actions were much more serious than Trump’s and the cases are not really parallel. I hope he will be dealt with accordingly but only time will tell.
DJT was clearly the manufacturer of his current “difficulties” and I am pleased not to be on his Christmas card list I liked the analysis given by Bill Barr earlier this week and recommend watching it. In spite of his criticism of DJT Barr wouldn’t rule out voting for DJT if he becomes the Republican candidate but that he would vote for whoever he felt would do the least damage. Can’t argue with that approach.
Since the state of democracy in the US is of prime importance to the entire free world and the power the US wields it would be silly to suggest that it’s “none of our business” who becomes your president.
somehistory says
rarely, just who are you quoting with the “none of our business”? I don’t see that in my comment. What line is it on?
I said as he was president in this country, and many Americans liked the changes he was making, you are not directly affected by what he did any more than I am directly affected by your ‘jerk-in-charge’ there in your country
Of course, one nation’s policies affect other nations, but if the pres manages to get the Congress to raise taxes, or to take property owned by a citizen, or some other awful thing, Americans are directly affected. And that is a different matter.
If you had a pm who was like biden…oh, you do….if you had a pm who was like Trump, or Reagan, or JFK, or Geroge Washington, it would be better for you direcly, and better for the rest of he world indirectly.
but, I never said it was none of your business.
Namwe says
I don’t see any jumping in his comment, he’s stating the obvious
somehistory says
He’s saying this guy is nothing like Trump….and I’m wrong for comparing the “classified” thingy to what Trump faces in his indictments.
Evidently, before all of the “facts” meet his requirements. Not like Trump, no way is what he is saying, even without all of the facts.
I don’t recall you commenting before; perhaps you need to go back and read some of his comments over the past few years.

For the record, Namwe (Rarely too), I’m with somehistory.
What is happening to Trump is persecution of objection to election results (and which Democrats like Hillary, Abrams and Raskin have done regularly).
We now have a two-tier justice system and even if you hate Trump (I don’t and I far prefer his policies to that of Biden’s), you should be concerned like an old-fashion liberal such as Alan Dershowitz is (no-Trump supporter by any measure is Dershowitz), to wit, that America is quickly descending into a giant banana republic, led by total scumballs such as Garland, the Fulton County, Georgia DA, the Manhattan DA and the forever jerk-like Biden and the now utterly compromised FBI..
Wake the Hell up, that is if you can. But I doubt you will.

TY, Wellington.

Maybe he has Presidential immunity (Biden)?

I hope every student in his class just audits the class and records him to expose how anti-Semitic he probably is.

During the Cold War the FBI would be swarming all over many of these colleges and universities for being a threat to national security. But today the FBI doesn’t care about that. They have America parents and patriots to go after instead. In a just world the FBI would now be going after the FBI as a national security threat. What a world we live in.

I listened to some of the speech biden made in WI….and the audience kept applauding and cheering. I couldn’t tell if there was someone holding an applause sign as they once did on game shows.
I wish I could turn the channel and see something wholesome and honest in this world.
tgusa says
I heard it was a laugh track. The applause ended abruptly.
somehistory says
Ah-so. that explains a heck of a lot. thanks. I didn’t listen to all of it…can’t stomach the creep. Calling himself “daddy” to the kids. Makes me want to vomit.

Virtually all universities and colleges in America are now “gone,” but the worst of the worst are the most so-called elite universities.
Like Princeton. Whose campus in Mercer County, NJ I have been to innumerable times, though lately when I have been there I have reflected on how fools aplenty—well educated but fools nonetheless—now predominate on that campus.
