The Archbishop of Canterbury wouldn’t be caught dead hosting foes of jihad terror and Sharia oppression for tea and cake.
“Archbishop of Canterbury hosts hardline Islamists for tea and cake,” by David Rose, The JC,
September 21, 2023 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
The Archbishop of Canterbury welcomed two controversial Muslim leaders to Lambeth Palace for tea and cake last week, including a cleric with close ties to the brutal Iranian regime, the JC can reveal.
Mohammad Ali Shomali, who met Justin Welby, spent five years as the UK representative of the Iranian supreme leader in his role as the head of the Islamic Centre of England (ICE), the London mosque that is currently the subject of a Charity Commission inquiry because of its role in promoting extremism.
Also on the guest list was Mohammed Kozbar, a leader of the Muslim Council of Britain who praised the founder of the Hamas terror group as a “holy warrior”.
Welby posted a gushing message after the event, saying it was a “pleasure to welcome friends”, adding that he had enjoyed “the honest sharing of different perspectives”.
Lord Carlile KC, the independent reviewer of terrorism legislation, said the Church had to be more careful in choosing its partners for interfaith events, citing the report published earlier this year by Sir William Shawcross on the government’s Prevent programme that is supposed to curb extremism.
He added it was a “serious error of judgment” to engage in discussions with those who have been seen as “apologists” for “extremism”….

So were the cakes & tea halal?
Keys says
He slipped ‘em kosher cakes.
somehistory says
Jesus said for His followers not to be calling themselves “rabbi” (Matthew 23) nor calling others “father.”
Right away, it’s obvious this guy doesn’t know God’s Word and the commands for Christians.
And this lack of knowledge translates to other disobedience on his part. For this circumstance of having ‘tea and cake’ with those who lie about Christ and would slit the throats of Christians, Pauls’ words apply.
“New International Version
You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons.” (1Cor. 10)
Likely he has heard these verses even if he never read them. But he chooses to ignore them, evidently believing he can do as he pleases and suffer no consequences. He’s a fool.
Jon Sobieski says
Well the Church of England isn’t a real church, is it? And that is why its members are abandoning it.

Justin Welby lost all credibility years ago. He’s just a puppet – watch closely and you can almost see the strings.
Isabel Frances Clark says
I was a regular church goer until the last two Arch Bishops took over.
They sound so political when they should be sounding and acting Christian. I thought this latest Archbishop would be an improvement but, sadly, no. He appears worse.
I am still a Christian but never go to church now.
Jim says
Well, you know, appeasers think that if you make friends with evil people, they will not want to hurt you. That reminds me of a story about the frog that carried a scorpion across a river, and then the scorpion bit the frog. He explained, he did it because that was his nature.
Also in a film I once saw, death was going to take Anthony Hopkins away, and the latter made friends with death. He asked him if he could not make an exception and let him live longer. Death said, no, there are some rules that have no exceptions.
One does not have to be a scholar with historical depth or a great theologian to know that these two stories tell us something about the people these priests and bishops try to befriend. And how much one can expect from them. They are not going to be moved by their tolerance. Rather, they think, these are fearful persons with a slave mentality. Easy pushovers.

A “pleasure to welcome friends” eh. How dumb can Welby be. If you read the Koran the hatred expressed towards all non-believers is ferocious and calls for Muslims to kill them when the opportunity arises. And Welby calls these creatures “friends”. For a Christian to be meeting these Muslims is about as sensible as a Jew meeting a bunch of Nazis. Maybe Welby was hoping that a miracle would occur and the Muslims would be converted and leave islam and stop murdering non-believers in their vile religion. I hope Welby told these Muslims to stop murdering all those Christians in various African countries these days, as reported on here at Jihad Watch..
somehistory says
Tim, I wonder if he’s not trying to outdo the pope in making kissy-face with those who would gladly murder him and brag about it. They would not hesitate to murder Jesus Christ if they were able to do so. They lie about Him and then claim He will come back and kill all Christians.
How can any sane person, much less a person who says they lead others to Christ, do what this guy and what the pope , have both done?
tim gallagher says
It is pathetic, somehistory, watching these church leaders sucking up to Muslims and all the time Muslims are continually murdering Christians in Africa. These church leaders should be calling out islam as the evil religion that it is. There are individual church ministers who do call out islam and point out its evil nature, but the main church leaders seem too cowardly to do so. God will not be pleased with such cowardice, that’s for sure.

Are there any anti-islam Christian denominations left? The pope loves islam, so does the Church of England, so does the Patriarch of Moscow, which means the leading 3 churches in Catholic, Protestant and Eastern Orthodox. So are there smaller denominations that people disillusioned w/ these big 3 can go to?
somehistory says
Good question. i haven’t seen anyone telling the Truth about islam, but there might be some congregation somewhere, even it goes against the hq of their denomination.. Maybe like some of the Catholic leaders in Africa have disagreed with the pope.
I do know there are individual Christians who are anti-islam….there may be thousands…or many more than that.
I no longer attend any denomination and haven’t for years.

This appeasing apostate abomination & mockery of Christ Justin Welby is a disgrace.
I feel sick to the stomach seeing this. Really.
For once, even words fail….
San says
Yes, tea and cake with the devil. Welby doesn’t give a damn about the persecution of Christians. I don’t even know if he’s really a Christian. I think he is only in name. He’s a disgrace to the faith he professes.
Eva says
He is obviously no Christian.
I suspect he entered the church only for the extremely comfortable life it provides.
When was the last time you saw a starving, freezing, stony-broke member of the clergy?
There may be some left who truly have a vocation, but I’d put money on non of them being the higher echelon ones.
Unknown guy says
This is one of the reasons why christianity is declining in Europe. Christianity is too soft very accomodating nobody stands firm on their beliefs. When you keep on saying that christianity is about love your neighbour and turn the other cheek, then people are bound to do these sort of things.
Biggles says
Agree. Way too soft/ leftist/ woke.
Fred Flintstone says
Caeci sunt, et duces caici!
Fred Flintstone says
Typo! That should, of course, be ‘Caeci sunt, et duces caeci!’
Andy Cap says
Wrong Fred! It’s Caeci sunt et duces caecorum’. Plural genitive of caecus, first/ second declension.

Re: The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby
Another Christian poobah who apparently just doesn’t “get it”.
But, hey, the Jewish Chronicle article’s references to extremism (3), and controversial (2) express subject matter ignorance, too.
The constant whitewash of Islam’s written goal of world domination by politicians, so-called journalists, and kufar religious leaders–anywhere–imperils the entire world (including themselves).
John Dough says
I really get the impression that it’s all wishful thinking. Like in ‘Peace in our time!’

The death of a civilized world will come from the sword of ISLAM.
Eva says
Not if those of us who are actually awake and aware are willing to fight.
I admit, it’s taking longer than I thought to happen, but I’d rather die free in battle than as a slave to the unspeakable demons of government and islam.

He is happy to turn the other cheek by getting down on all fours and… I wonder how long it will take before he is praying for it to end? Many of us have heard of the Illuminati but make way for a new group, the irrelenati. The new group are irrelevant and proud of it.
