Pope Francis’ representative in the Holy Land said on Monday he was willing to exchange himself for Israeli children taken hostage by Hamas and held in Gaza.
Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Patriarch of Jerusalem, made his comment in response to a question during a video conference with journalists in Italy.
“I am ready for an exchange, anything, if this can lead to freedom, to bring the children home. No problem. There is total willingness on my part,” he said.
“The first thing to do is to try to win the release of the hostages, otherwise there will be no way of stopping (an escalation). We are willing to help, even me personally,” he said….

Although I praise the sentiment that prompted the Patriarch to make this statement, I have to wonder, if he really thought there was a chance in h*ll that his offer would be accepted, would he have made it?

very beautiful thought and plan but i think has nothing to do with freeing hostages, Muslim extremists they simply want to annihilate Israel. But at the same time, they don’t relies, they fight against God ( Israel are God’s chosen people!).

I will assume here a noble and sincere gesture but it hardly gets to the root of the problem.
N.B., the root of the problem is Islam, all of it. Bet the Patriarch doesn’t get this. I know his current boss doesn’t.
