Humza Yousaf, Scotland’s First Minister, is refusing to display the Israeli flag in a show of solidarity with the people over there who are currently under attack by a terrorist organization and a bloodthirsty set of Muslims who support them. Nor will he light up the Parliament building in blue and white.
Humza started his political activism/charity work by being the media spokesperson for Islamic Relief, a charity that has since been proscribed as a terrorist organization by the Israeli government, and which has offices in the West Bank. The charity is contesting this in court, but it’s also important to note that the banking group HSBC closed Islamic Relief’s accounts over concerns that they were funding terrorism. In 2008, Humza also met with the senior official within Hamas, a man responsible for masterminding much of Hamas’ political and military strategy. “The meeting took place in 2008, when Yousaf was 22 and working as a parliamentary assistant for the late-Bashir Ahmad, Scotland’s first Muslim MSP.”
Humza has been in the news over the past couple of days, expressing his concern for his in-laws, who are currently visiting his wife’s elderly grandmother in Palestine. His wife is of “Palestinian descent,” even though she was born in Scotland to Palestinian parents. There is not much information publicly available about her, other than the fact that she is a political activist. She recently dropped a lawsuit against a children’s nursery that, she claimed, was racially profiling Muslims and refusing to accommodate their kids. The owner of the nursery stated that Humza and his wife had “colluded in a half-baked sting operation” against them, and had then “mounted a vicious and cynical campaign against us in the national media.” Both he and his wife appear to have been phoning children’s nurseries and giving out a host of Islamic-sounding names in the hopes of catching a “racist.” That’s not activism, it’s witch-hunting.
Hamas terrorism and the support and sympathy the jihad group engenders worldwide should give rise to deep concern about future terrorist acts in Scotland, given the First Minister’s past and his own and his family’s current political activism. What kind of crackdown can the people of Scotland expect on what any decent person would consider to be “Islamic extremism,” when there is a sympathizer in charge of the country? Anyone, particularly anyone in a position of leadership or power, with ties to Hamas or Palestine should currently be having all of his or her electronic devices seized and scrutinized. Humza’s refusal to light up Scottish Parliament’s building show us where his sympathies lie.
We’ve seen pro-Palestine demonstrations from London to Copenhagen, Paris and New York. In Sydney, Australia, demonstrators chanted “gas the Jews.” Scotland will have its very own pro-Palestine rallies this Saturday, October 14 in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow. You can expect more of the same hateful anti-Semitic nonsense to be spouted.
Given that Humza was the architect of the notorious hate-crime bill that was passed in Scotland, which can see family members arrested for private conversations over the dinner table, I wonder if we will see him put this law into place at the weekend when there will no doubt be very public displays of Jew-hatred going on.

Just over the past few days I have heard utter nonsense put forth by people I ordinarily respect (e.g., Steve Hilton on Fox News) saying things to the effect that Hamas has distorted Islam. Well, anyone who doesn’t realize that Hamas, Hezbollah and their patron, Iran, are most definitely not distorting Islam is either willfully ignorant or lying. What a bitter irony that the UK, and with great bravery and resilience, no sooner got rid of one totalitarian menace in Nazism, then it stupidly acquiesced to two other totalitarian ideologies taking over i.e., Leftism (just barely warmed over Marxism) and Islam.
Of all the tragedies in British history, quite arguably the most tragic is what British elites have inflicted on the Sceptered Isle since the 1960s, with someone like Margaret Thatcher fighting a rear-guard action against this, sadly futilely, just as Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump did, ditto for Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI—all doing their best to reverse the damage done to the UK, the USA and the Roman Catholic Church respectively. Alas, though noble efforts, still not enough and why the West continues to descend.

I see very few if any differences, James. Perhaps Leftism does allow for a modicum of a profit element and for some private property but I’m not even sure about this. Another possible difference is that Marxism is more purely theoretical while Leftism is rooted not as much in pure theory. I have to wonder, as an example, if AOC could comprehend and intelligently discuss such Marxist principles as dialectical materialism, determinism and the labor value theory. Whatever, both even if not identical are bad news for democracy, capitalism, a proper moral order and a fair legal system. In brief, they both suck.

Lots of UK cities are the same way. I lived in Sheffield for a few years back in the late 1990s and the muslims were busy worming their way into local politics, supported by the large voting block populating the paki district.
