There is a lot of outrage over this, but it is firmly within today’s academic mainstream. Our nation’s colleges and universities today are radioactive wastelands of hard-Left indoctrination.
“Students can get extra credit for attending Palestinian march says UC Berkeley,” by Ben Clerkin, The JC, October 25, 2023:
UC Berkeley has endorsed an academic’s plan to offer extra credits to students who attend an anti-Israel protest or watch an anti-Israel documentary.
Outrage engulfed the Ivy League college after graduate student Victoria Huynh emailed students on her course, Asian American Communities and Race Relations, about the scheme.
The email contained a poster for the “National walkout against genocide, settler-colonialism and the siege of Gaza”. It showed a young man holding a slingshot and a Palestinian flag in the ruins of Gaza.
Huynh wrote: “Hi everyone, we’re offering a field trip and/or extra credit opportunity.
“Students can attend the national student walkout tomorrow against the settler-colonial occupation of Gaza OR
“Students can watch a short documentary on Palestine and call/email your local California representative.
“Doing so will either count as a field trip or an extra 5 points on the field trip category of your grade.”…
James Lincoln says
UC Berkeley is not fixable.
Any and all government funding to this commie indoctrination center needs to stop immediately.
And all jihad-supporting students with visas need to be expelled – and deported.
DazzleMe says
UC Berkley needs all funding CUT.

I really get a kick out of oriental Asians criticizing others for war related stuff given their well documented track record for committing war crimes. Every Asian army we have ever fought has done that. And that extends beyond military fighters and in to the civilian sector. She says she is from a refugee household but in reality she is nothing more than a colonizer.
Headline of the future. US military conducts retaliatory strike on (insert college or university name).

People who constantly insultingly label a large group of people they don’t know, who have done nothing to harm the labeler, are hypocrites.
I’m not racist, but I have noticed numerous times that some people who come in from China, have as big a superiority chip on their shoulders as do mozlums. Those kind will run you over with grocery carts without blinking an eye…as if you don’t exist. Imagine how they are when trying to get ahead in schools…or business.
When I saw this news article on the msn, I didn’t expect it to be an Oriental Asian, but I’m not surprised. They can hate us as much as mozlums do.
There is an ad from years ago where a chinese guy is lecturing a room of them and bragging that someday, they would take over the U.S. and rule over us; and all of the people smirk and laugh. That’s what they want.
tgusa says
Exactly. So much hate, so little time. It is the world we live in today. The last time we faced Chinese forces was Korea. Back then the Chinese sent swarms of people at us with a backup. A backup that would shoot any of them that hesitated or tried to retreat. Even though the Chinese want to be like the Imperial Japanese in world conquest they will never be. The Imperial Japanese didn’t need backup to make sure their fighters fought.
tgusa says
Countries like Russia and China dont have the same regard for their own people/fighters that we in the USA do. They just throw an onslaught at their adversary, regardless. As much as we would prefer to avoid unnecessary carnage that really leaves us no other choice. If we want to win, that is. Are we as a people up for that? I dont know.

“A very similar thing happened in Japan. But whereas the Germans informally adopted meth, the Japanese embraced the drug with empire-building fervor. They called it Philopon, which translates roughly to “love of work,” and funneled it into all arms of the military, as well as into government factories. Particularly high doses were also given to Kamikaze pilots before missions, for reasons that are probably obvious. Incidences of stimulant-fueled psychosis exploded but as in Germany, these cases were downplayed at the behest of the pharmaceutical companies.”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karayuki-san
Karayuki-san (唐行きさん) was the name given to Japanese girls and women in the late 19th and early 20th centuries who were trafficked from poverty-stricken agricultural prefectures in Japan to destinations in East Asia, Southeast Asia, Siberia (Russian Far East), Manchuria, British India, and Australia, to serve as sex workers.

Battle of Chosin Reservoir.
30,000 United Nations Command troops (a variety of US troops from all branches of the US military along with Korean Marines, ROK) were encircled and attacked by about 120,000 Chinese troops. A brutal 17 day battle in freezing weather soon followed. The battle was between 27 November and 13 December. The Chinese troops were ordered by Mao Zedong to destroy all UN forces. The UN forces were nevertheless able to break out of the encirclement and withdraw. Both sides suffered heavy casualties, especially the Chinese.
The US X Corps and the ROK I Corps total casualties 10,495
Total Chinese casualties 52,098
tgusa says
And since the Chinese communists are well known liars it is probably more like 75 to 80 thousand casualties.

South Korea today has a formidable military well capable of repelling any Nork (Chinese expendable stooge, North Korea) invasion. South Korea also has access to superior air cover from the USA as backup if they ask. We have always been and still are in South Korea partnering with and helping them not to to repel the Norks, NO, they dont need it. Why we are still there has to do with a neighboring country. Now what could that country be?

My ex wife lives in Berkeley today, married with a Son who is around 18 by now. Her heritage is Russian Jewish, her Father bought land in Israel as he was first generation as was her Mother, both die hard believers in The State of Israel for obvious reasons, my ex wife is now a great fan of Obama and wants Elizabeth Warren to be the first female President and she calls Trump what you would expect somebody like her to call Trump… I discovered all this on her Facebook Page and even though I knew she was a bleeding heart though not that bad when we were together in the 1980s in San Fransisco I have to wonder if she is rethinking her thoughts about Trump as he did more for Israel than any President since 1948 and now she is surrounded by morons screaming for the end of Israel and death to Jewish people and these morons are ALL Of The Left just like my ex wife… Time to wake up from the woke slumber.

Only if she is able to put her emotions aside – and look at his policies.
Most people with Trump Derangement Syndrome cannot do that.

Exactly James. So sad they cannot see the good Trump has done.

Um – how is Gaza subject to “settler/colonial occupation” when not a single Israeli lives there and it’s run by Hamas?
Like so many on the Left, Victoria Huynh is just a mass-murderer wannabe.
