In Hamas, they don’t as yet realize it, but “it’s over for them.” The IDF is moving steadily, relentlessly, to smash what Defense Minister Yoav Gallant describes as “the biggest terror base” in the world. Israel will not allow Hamas to regroup through a “ceasefire.” It will not submit to pressure from anyone — not the UN, not the Pope, not Vladimir Putin, not Ayatollah Khamenei, not Rashida Tlaib or Linda Sarsour or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. What it has already accomplished is staggering. Yaakov Lappin gives a detailed summary of the first month’s achievements here: “Gallant: Hamas head Sinwar hiding in bunker, disconnected,” by Yaakov Lappin, JNS, November 7, 2023:
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said in a televised address to the nation on Tuesday that “Gaza is the biggest terror base built by man.”
“The whole of Gaza is a terrorism base,” Gallant added, noting that Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar is hiding in his bunker, “out of touch with his surroundings.”
There will be no humanitarian pauses for Gaza before Israelis held hostage are returned, the minister vowed.
The Israel Defense Forces is operating against Hamas in the heart of Gaza City for the first time in decades, IDF Southern Command chief Maj. Gen. Yaron Finkelman said on Tuesday….
Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, IDF spokesman, reiterated on Tuesday night that there would be no ceasefire, as the military presses on with its ground offensive.
“Hamas terrorists tell themselves that there will be a truce. There won’t be one. We are moving forward,” Hagari said. He added that the IDF has struck more than 14,000 targets in Gaza, destroyed more than 100 tunnel entrances and captured 4,000 weapons….
The IDF seized 375 automatic rifles in recent days in Gaza, some with grenade launchers, 43 heavy machine guns, 1,493 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and grenades, 427 bomb belts, 760 rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), 360 cartridges, 98 rockets, five anti-aircraft missiles, three anti-tank missiles, computers, phones and 167 maps, according to Hecht.
Discussing humanitarian efforts, Hecht said the Salah Al-Din route, which goes to the Rafah border crossing with Egypt, was open on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a temporary closure at 11 a.m. due to Hamas firing near the road. It subsequently reopened.
These efforts serve the IDF’s goal of dismantling Hamas by moving civilians south, bringing in humanitarian assistance and focusing on closing in on Hamas in Gaza City….
Col. (res.) Itamar Yaar, former deputy head of the National Security Council and director of commanders for Israel’s security, told journalists on a Tuesday call that the Israeli war effort has been mostly in line with plans drawn up after the Oct. 7 attacks.
Israel updated and adapted existent plans after Oct. 7, with two weeks of preparation and massive air strikes and special forces raids, he said.
The past two weeks “are going according to the plans and the IDF achieved most of it expected to achieve in this period of time,” Yaar added. “It means the IDF is not in a real hurry. The plans mean that they go step by step, and use operational field intelligence, information that they get from software and hardware that they find in the tunnels, buildings.” He added that they also use information from captured Hamas terrorists.
“The IDF is destroying every building and site that it sees fire coming from—at ground forces, aircraft and rockets and missiles,” Yaar said. Ground forces are also demolishing buildings that they have identified as containing threats.
Bulldozers are highly active as part of this operation—lessons learned from the First Lebanon War in 1982, Yaar said. “This also causes tunnels to collapse and much of what is underground collapsing through the use of bulldozers.”
Hamas terrorists have yet to understand that it’s “over for them, and it’s only a matter of time until they’re dead,” he added. “There are still people in Gaza City that you need to fight one by one or capture them.”…
That’s a lot to have accomplished in roughly the last two weeks. And now we learn that the head of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, is sitting in a bunker, surrounded by IDF soldiers, and all of his communications with the outside world have now been cut off. He is no doubt wondering if the end is nigh. He won’t, of course, be taken alive. His death will be a colossal blow to Hamas, that is already reeling from an assault of such ferocity that it never imagined could happen.

There are reports that Hamas snipers are shooting at civilians who are trying to escape from a hospital under which Hamas has an operation center.
What is wrong with the US demonstrators who can’t see that Hamas only cares about Palestinians as shields and fodder?

It’s pure antisemitic hate, they don’t give a damn about fellow Muslims…they want to wipe out Israel and the Jews…that’s what is triggering them.
Their fangs are coming out, we’re starting to see the real ‘Islam’ even though the Left is trying desperately to hide it.
The Palis are just an excuse to play victim, their goal is the same as Hamas…after they kill the Jews then they plan to kill us and take our lands/wealth and Islamify the world.

The leftists know. They’re REALLY good at ignoring reality.
If you can make yourself believe that men can get pregnant, you can certainly make yourself believe that Hamas are freedom fighters and the Jews are Nazis.
Some of them still think Trump is a Russian agent. The only thing they really believe is that patriotic Europeans are ALWAYS the bad guy. It doesn’t matter what Hamas or PIJ does. They’re brown and the jews are white and that’s all that matters.

In addition to Sinwar, take out Islamic Jihad, “Lion’s Den” and any other jihadist outfits in Gaza. Don’t leave them to do some other damage some other day

Hugh,
My question would be, if the assault on northern Gaza is possible without an untold number of civilian casualties because most residents have fled to the southern portion of the strip, how will Israel occupy the southern portion? Where will the Gazans find shelter from the fighting if Egypt continues to refuse to admit them. My concern is not just humanitarian, it’s about the well-being and standing of Israel around the world.
I want the entirety of Gaza occupied by Israel. I want Hamas removed entirely from the strip. The question is, how to do it with 2 million Gazan civilians in the way of the fighting.
Your thoughts?

I hope the Israelis keep pushing forward all the way to the end of Hamas. Going to war should not be taken lightly but when we do go to war the goal should always be complete defeat of the enemy. You can be sure that is the enemy’s goal – complete defeat of us. Of course, Hamas is only a small part of the larger enemy and Israel should not be alone in its fight.

BTW Christians believe in the laws given in the Torah{“pentateuch”}and the Prophets Daniel,Ezekiel,Zechariah etc.islam has no prophecy source ,no 2 Chief commandments..
Jews are Biblically sanctioned to be in Israel. That’s why God returned the Jews to Israel in 1948
“allah”{=hu baal of the kaaba} is NOT the Biblical God.
If it was the same God hizbollah would not want to destroy Israel. They are on the wrong side of prophecy! They don’t know it.

The last paragraph of that above jihadwatch auricle reads “Now we learn that the head of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, is sitting in a bunker, surrounded by IDF soldiers.”
What we may be rather sure of is that Sinwar is being treated better as a prisoner then the Israeli and Americans prisoners who have been kidnapped by the jihadists savages of Hamas.
What’s more those Israeli and American prisoners aren’t murderers, in contest to Sinwar who is a murderous jihadist chief.

I’m still having trouble believing that things won’t just return to the status quo we’ve always known. Even just ending the fifth column in Gaza seems like a fantasy.
Would the muslim ummah really accept the destruction of Gaza, or God willing, the entire “Palestinian” delusion? Seems unlikely to me.
What will happen to all those dedicated humanitarians in the UNRWA? Whose terrorist attacks will they fund or assist with?
“Palestinian” propaganda is at the highest it has been in decades. Much of the non-western world went from condemning Hamas to claiming Israel was committing genocide in about an hour. The propaganda is working, even on new targets like jew-hating American conservatives. Why would they give up now, when they have more worldwide support than ever before? Or when the West outside of Israel is weak and stretched thin by incompetence and corruption? It’d be nice, but I’m not buying it.
abu taleb says
The only way to make Israel really safe from Islamic terrorism is that all western countries stop supporting the Islamists and giving preferential treatment to Islam, stop giving money to Palestine (and other poor Islamic countries) unless it is proven for humanitarian aid, stop giving money to UN, UNRWA etc.
Unfortunately, the western governments are really in bed with the Islamists except a few like Hungary and Poland.

No aid should be offered Muslim countries by Western countries. Let the Muslim countries help their own.

If the people in Gaza voted for Hamas, they are learning what their mistake was. If Joe gave tons of cash to Hamas, Iran, Hezbollah and other Jihadis, perhaps he will stop counting his bribe money to refledt on his record as president. There is blame to go around.

Biden will not reflect on his record as President which is beyond absolutely horrific.
He is the head of the Biden crime family – and has no conscience.
