Those considering this blasphemous may have regarded the idea of placing Islam on the same plane as other faiths and discussing them together was tantamount to stating that Islam was a religion like others, instead of something that is supreme and stands alone.

Director Khairi Anwar Jailani, 31, and producer Tan Meng Kheng, 36, could face a one-year jail term if found guilty.
Both pleaded not guilty to the blasphemy charge in a packed magistrate’s court in the capital Kuala Lumpur and were freed on bail.

The film “Mentega Terbang” (a Malay wordplay meaning “Butterfly”) is about a 15-year-old girl who discusses the afterlife from the perspectives of different religions with her parents as she struggles to come to terms with her dying mother.
The film has been vehemently criticised by religious authorities for going against the Islamic creed in Malaysia where race and religion are highly sensitive matters….
It is common for censors in the Muslim-majority country to ban films entirely or cut scenes related to subjects they deem sensitive.

It is now illegal in Malaysia for a non mulsim to use the word allah in public even though that is an Arabic word and Malaysia is not an Arabic speaking country.
A Chinese Malaysian friend recently told me that when a Chinese or Indian Hindu Festival is parading down the street singing and dancing they must stop as they pass a mosque, stay totally silent as they walk past until they ”safely pass” the mosque and then they can resume their singing and dancing in accord to their religious faith because the muslims in the mosque,whether it is empty or full, will be insulted that people not of the islamic bullshit will feel their wee feelings hurt because islam is a religion of piss, oops I mean peace, that tolerate and loves everybody.
