The IDF has been uncovering reams of documents about the inner workings of both Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Most recently, it came across a cache describing the methods employed by Yahya Sinwar, the head of Hamas in Gaza, in dealing with those Palestinian Arabs he accused either of “immorality” or of “collaborating” with the Israelis. His methods should send a chill down your spine. More on this sinister figure can be found here: “‘Gaza’s Bin Laden’ Sinwar’s torture tactics exposed in secret docs revealing he’d bury victims ALIVE in poured concrete,” by Neha Dhillon, U.S. Sun,
Israeli troops operating in the Gaza Strip claim to have uncovered a secret document from Hamas’ headquarters detailing chilling cruelties inflicted by Sinwar.
According to the IDF, the file revealed the horrific fate of opposition leader Mahmoud Ishtiwi.
Ishtiwi, the former commander of the Zeitoun battalion, and member of the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades, came from a long line of Hamas loyalists.
He and his family were revered for having protected Hamas leaders like Mohammed Deif – until Sinwar entered the picture.
Back in 2015, Ishtiwi was accused of “immoral” acts, Hamas code for homosexuality, but unlike others who were quickly executed, the former commander remained under arrest for over a year.
He was accused of embezzling in connection to this crime, and for passing on intelligence to the Israelis.
Qassam concluded that Israeli intelligence had uncovered Ishtiwi’s homosexuality and accused him of offering information in exchange for keeping his secret.
The IDF claim that the new docs reveal the conditions Ishtiwi was interrogated under, the torture he endured, and the allegations he was forced into admitting
After his brutal execution in 2016, Hamas’ statement said that Ishtiwi had been sentenced to death for “behavioural and moral violations to which he confessed”.
The notes read: “The fear gripped me without end. I know that I’m lying to who is at the top of the pyramid.
“I know that Muhammad Sinwar [Yahya’s younger brother, a senior Hamas commander] is renowned for his cruelty. He almost buried me in Gaza, in the Shati camp.”
According to the IDF, Ishtiwi went on to detail his torture in the notes.
He wrote: “They would beat me 400-500 times … they held me blindfolded for five days … there were days in which I was beaten for 20 hours, and sometimes 48 hours … I was suspended by my arms and legs, swinging while four men whipped me … I confessed more than once under torture.”
The file also contains a letter that reveals the threats Ishtiwi endured whilst being interrogated by Hamas.
The letter describes how Ishtiwi was taken to an open grave and told that it was his tomb.
He was told: “This is your tomb. We will pour concrete on you until it reaches your mouth — and it won’t be the first time we’ve done this.”…
That is, high rank will not protect you. Even Mahmoud Ishtiwi, who had protected Mohammed Deif, Sinwar’s predecessor as the head of Hamas in Gaza, was not above suspicion, but was subject to investigation, excruciating torture, and execution.
Even as a young man in Hamas, Sinwar was not afraid to accuse his fellow officials of “immorality” — that is, homosexuality or other forms of what Islamic scholars consider to be unacceptable sexual deviance. He then took on the task of ferreting out those who, he suspected, were collaborators with Israel, whether they did it for money, or to avoid Mossad revealing their “immorality.” Sinwar and his even more violent brother Muhammad, it should be noted, have been accused by other Hamas members who were locked up with them in an Israeli prison, of homosexual rape, sexual assault, and pedophilia. But if you can torture and murder people, you can surely be a hypocrite as well.
While in an Israeli prison, Sinwar learned to speak excellent Hebrew. He was also treated by Israeli doctors for a brain tumor. They saved his life. I think you’ll agree that he hasn’t exactly been grateful. Sinwar was one of the 1,027 Palestinian prisoners released by Israel in exchange for a single Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit, in a trade that demonstrated, not for the first or last time, that Israel still has a lot to learn about negotiations.
Recent documents from the Israeli Shin Bet intelligence service revealed the transcripts from more than 150 hours of interrogations of Sinwar from when he had been captured.
In one of these, Sinwar described strangling one man with a scarf, when he was the leader of the feared Hamas security service, known as Majd.
In another case, Sinwar described mounting surveillance on a Palestinian called Rasmi Salim following claims he had turned his back on Islam and was now collaborating with Israel….
“We interrogated Rasmi, and he admitted that he was in contact with the Israeli intelligence, with a man named Abu Rami. He also admitted that he used to bring girls to his shop and mess with them….
“After strangling him, I wrapped him in a white cloth and closed the grave. I understood from Rasmi that he realised that he deserved to die.”
Oh, that’s okay then. Rasmi knew he deserved to die, and we obliged.
The documents, first revealed by the Israeli paper Israel Hayom, suggest Sinwar also told the investigators that although he had a gun he preferred to kill with his hands….
Yes, there’s something so very human and intimate about using your hands to curtail someone’s breathing, or to pull on two ends of a piece of cloth that you have wrapped around your victim’s neck. He can even look into your eyes as you slowly pull the cloth tighter and tighter and the life goes out of him. Yahya Sinwar wants to share his victim’s last moments. No shooting from afar for him. Such killings, up close and personal, provide him with a thrill, akin to that he must feel when he is raping young boys, or engaging in phallic fencing with a coerced cellmate, or when he pours liquid cement over a victim who has already been lowered into what will be his grave.
That is Yahya Sinwar, the Palestinians’ new hero of their “resistance,” who has still managed to evade the IDF’s dragnet in Gaza. What a man!
Walter Sieruk says
That fiendish and vicious jihadist chief of Hamas , Yahya Sinwar had for once , spoke the truth, which he let it slip out that “If not for Iran’s support for the resistance… we would not have obtained these capabilities. “
This is a horrendous reflection on Joe Biden because he has and still does strive to uphold that hostile anti-America and anti-Israel Islamic regime of Iran with as much financial help to Hamas , as he is able to.
Therefore, that “mullah regime” of Iran now has the money to send deadly weapons to Hamas.
So Joe Biden, Iran and Hamas and guilty of the murder of many innocent people, which started in October 7th. 2023, if not before that specific date.

I’m fine w/ that. Only problem: we have military bases in both those countries. Our Defense & Foreign establishments have a bizarre notion of what constitutes an ally

I heard he caught a flight to Tijuana, crossed the border on foot, turned himself in to a Border Patrol agent claiming asylum, was released into the country, already has a California Driver License, free housing, an EBT card, has had gender reassignment surgery, and has a 6 figure job in the Biden administration.

Israel needs to learn from this not to repeat the mistake of freeing Jihadi murderers as Sinwar was freed in exchange for hostages.

I have a problem with this story. Why tell all these things to your captor? Torture? I thought the guy was already dead? Why tell your torturor how he tortured you? He should know that himself, right? Did he tell the Israelis? If so, how did ham ass obtain this document?

It does sound confusing.
There are several sources for this compilation excerpt in the article. Documents found by IDF in Hamas property, including Sinwar’s own house–rather, one of them–which was also used by Hamas at this point. Also, interrogation records from Israel fills in the picture, from when Sinwar was a prisoner. There are many sources Israelis use for their info, including real collaborators, such as “Son of Hamas” aka the “Green Prince”–son of one of the founders of Hamas who became disillusioned with the brutality and senselessness of it all and worked for the Israelis as an informant. He speaks out about Hamas and Islam now, and recently came out of his normal life where he lives away from it all, to speak out in support of Israel after the Oct 7 attacks. HE said Sinwar was in jail in Israel when he also was (as a young man, arrested for arms dealing etc with his father). He reports seeing Sinwar kill people IN JAIL. Palestinians who were suspected of collaborating with the Israelis. He said he saw Sinwar hold a man’s head over the sink and decapitate him.
So there’s quite a file on Sinwar.
But I’m understanding from this that they found notes left there by Ishtiwi, among the various papers. Maybe I’m recalling that from hearing about it elsewhere recently. I’ve seen footage of meetings with Ishtiwi present when he knows he is in trouble, but is not yet “captive” and it’s pitiful–the fear in his eyes and a kind of resignation. Maybe it was Son of Hamas who was pointing this out as the footage played. Can’t recall when I saw that, not really recently.
Anyway, it’s the same-old, same-old. Recall how Mao killed his own best generals etc. after inviting them to a frank discussion and encouraging free dialogue about what they might think he (Mao) could improve upon–that kind of thing. They willingly obliged. Then he obliged in turn, by executing all these potential “traitors.” The despots always control their own people, at all levels, by terror.
Palestinians dying in Israeli jail, horribly, tortured, etc. NOT BY THE ISRAELIS! But by their own “brothers” who were in there with them.
So yes, the way this article is excerpted doesn’t give a lot by way of references; and the chronology is not clear. For example, they showed him the grave and told him what they were going to do to him to kill him. Because it wouldn’t be bad enough to just drag him there and dump him in and call over the cement truck. No, they wanted him to KNOW in advance, and SUFFER in his mind. It’s not clear whether this happened with Sinwar’s brother, who “almost buried me alive while in the Shati camp” or during the later arrest. Which actually ended in his death–not by concrete but by execution firing squad style. The notes Ishtiwi left were made during his months of arrest and torture, that’s my understanding. Were they found recently? By the IDF?
I think one of the salient point is the torture and brutality used by Hamas, including to those they want to use as examples to keep the others in line. The “death by cement threat” was apparently used with others but not, as it turned out, with Ishtiwi.
The brutality beggars belief, I have to say. And people are marching in our streets in support of these monsters.
