British Colonel Richard Kemp has long been studying the IDF, which he has repeatedly said, in tutte le salse, is the “most moral army in the world.” He has in mind the colossal efforts the IDF makes to warn civilians away from areas and buildings about to be targeted, through leafletting, messaging, and telephoning. In Gaza, that has meant fourteen million leaflets were dropped, six million messages were sent, and four million phone calls made, just in the first month of the conflict, all to keep civilian casualties to a minimum. In addition, Israeli pilots routinely call off missions if they detect too many civilians near the target below. And the IDF’s efforts have worked. The ratio of civilians-to-combatants killed in the Gaza War is close to 1:1 — that is, one civilian death for every combatant killed. The UN has calculated that in all the wars fought since World War II, the ratio of civilian-to-combatant deaths has been 9:1; in Afghanistan, the Americans brought that down to 4:1, and in Iraq to 3:1. But no other army has come close to the IDF’s 1:1 ratio. And this was achieved in urban warfare, in one of the most densely populated places on earth, with Hamas deliberately embedding its operatives and weapons in among civilians.
Now Colonel Kemp has some observations that were prompted by Iran’s recent attack, with 360 drones and missiles, on Israel. They can be found here: “Israel needs the unequivocal backing of its allies after Iran’s despicable attack,” by Colonel Richard Kemp, Express,
On Saturday night I witnessed the most intensive aerial assault I have seen against Israel. To the soundtrack of thunderous explosions, the sky over Jerusalem was lit up with Star Wars-like air defense projectiles colliding with Iranian missiles. But Iran’s historically unprecedented attack was a total failure, with the overwhelming majority of killer drones, ballistic missiles and cruise missiles knocked out of the sky before even entering Israeli territory. As well as 300 [350] air weapons fired from Iran, projectiles were launched by Tehran’s proxies in Yemen, Iraq and Lebanon, again without success. The total effect of this massive bombardment was the severe wounding of a child and only minor damage to an IDF air base. Nevertheless it is important to recognise this was not a symbolic attack designed to fail. That would have been done with far fewer missiles and drones. The response to this strike should be commensurate with Iran’s clear intent: to hit hundreds of targets and kill hundreds of people.
In other words, it is incumbent on Israel to respond to Iran’s attack as if it had succeeded. If someone shoots at you, but fails to harm you because you are wearing a bulletproof vest under your jacket, or because you have dodged the bullet in time, do you therefore not fire back, or do you quite sensibly conclude that you’d better return his fire, especially if you are sure he will try again?
Yet President Biden has told Prime Minister Netanyahu that he should consider this “a win”. In other words: take it on the chin. Did Biden pressure Ukraine not to respond to Russian missile strikes on its territory? No, he did not, and such a call to Israel now is preposterous. It is exactly this approach from the start of Biden’s presidency that has led us to where we are today — consistently appeasing Iran and responding with abject feebleness to repeated attacks against US forces….
That appeasement of Iran by Biden was on display just a month ago, when the administration reissued a $10 billion Iran sanctions waiver, unlocking frozen funds and allowing the country to access hard currency from Iraq’s continued electricity purchases from Iran. Ten billion dollars can pay for constructing a lot of drones and missiles.
Many world leaders, including Joe Biden, have been moving heaven and earth to persuade or pressure the IDF not to enter Rafah, at the southern tip of Gaza, in order to destroy the four intact battalions of Hamas that remain in that city. Instead, many now demand that Israel agree to an “immediate ceasefire” and an end to the war which, if Israel were to agree, would leave Hamas crowing about its “victory” over the “Zionist entity,” and reasserting its intention to repeat the October 7 attack “again and again and again.”
Similarly, the world was for all of two days on Israel’s side as the Jewish state spectacularly managed, with help from the U.S. and several other countries, to destroy 99% of the drones and missiles Iran launched toward Israel on the night of April 13. But then it was back to the mixture as before, with everyone trying to hold Israel back from launching its own attack on Iran, with Biden insisting that Israel should “take the win” and be satisfied, without inflicting any punishment on Iran. That, of course, would spell the end of Israel’s strategy of deterrence. Iran would realize it could launch a huge attack on Israel and ‘scape whipping, suffering only the cost of the offensive weapons it sent Israel-wards.
Israel should ignore the world’s buttinskies. Israel is now fighting a four-front war, simultaneously facing Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps in Iran. It’s a war for its very survival. It will inflict real pain on Iran — possibly destroying its nuclear program, that is now perilously close to enriching enough uranium for three bombs — and once that has been accomplished, the IDF will turn its attention to dismantling the terror group’s battalions in Rafah, again ignoring the advice given so freely by Biden, and the UN, and the EU, and everyone else among this giddy globe’s great and good, in order to hasten the last days of Hamas.

“Iran Issues Nuclear Warning to Israel”
“Iran said that it may have grounds to review its “nuclear doctrine” if Israel targets its atomic facilities as fear grows of a wider war breaking out in the Middle East.
The comment by a senior Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) commander on Thursday…
Israel has vowed to respond to Iran’s air raid, despite several of its Western allies, including the United States, urging for the tension to be contained before a greater conflict breaks out.
On Thursday, IRGC commander Ahmad Haqtalab, the head of Tehran’s nuclear security, said that the “threats of the Zionist regime [Israel] against Iran’s nuclear facilities make it possible to review our nuclear doctrine and deviate from our previous considerations,” as reported by the Tasnim News Agency, which is closely affiliated with the IRGC.”
“Haqtalab added that Israel’s nuclear facilities “have been identified, and we have the necessary information about all the targets…in other words, our fingers are on the trigger.”

One begins to wonder at what point decent and honourable men like Richard Kemp, and Douglas Murray, and the American military man, John Spence (am I remembering his name correctly?).. or for that matter, ordinary men like Tommy Robinson who have been unmercifully persecuted in their homelands for daring to speak up against Islamification… will start fleeing their rapidly-dhimmifying homelands and going to Israel to sign up with the IDF as Righteous Gentiles.
Perhaps the IDF needs to think about creating a ‘Foreign Legion’…
Way back in the 1930s, during the period of the British Mandate, there was the warrior Orde Wingate, an honest, honorable and brilliant British friend of Israel. A very, very different kind of man from the contemptible Arabophile/ Islamophile Glubb Pasha – sadly, much more representative of the mindset of the British foreign office and their ilk – who was all for the jihad against the Jews. Had Wingate survived WWII – he was killed in action in the eastern front – he may well have thrown his lot in with the Israelis, as a fighter with the IDF and a trainer of soldiers.
