Political calculations define the agendas of leftist politicians. Scotland’s hate crime law was driven by the transgender and the Islamic supremacist agendas, the latter of which is now wired into the woke agenda despite the fact that Islam rejects just about everything that defines what is woke. Scotland’s First Minister Humza Yousaf defended the law in line with his “Islamophobia” tricks.
Yet Scotland’s hate crime law is already backfiring, showing that Scottish politicians are entirely bereft of foresight. It seems never to have occurred to them that this law would be abused. Now, the volume of complaints coming in are “simply unmanageable,” and the law is being weaponized.
While jihadist thugs have infiltrated Western societies, threatening national security, the left is wasting taxpayer resources to expand its totalitarian agenda as it shuts down the freedom of expression. What will Scottish authorities do now with the “unmanageable” and expensive problem they have created? They will likely pull out all the stops in efforts to save face, as to them, politics is all about votes and power, not about sound leadership.
“Police ‘cannot cope’ with flood of hate crime reports inspired by ‘political point scoring,'” by Ben Borland, Scottish Daily Express, April 9, 2024:
The chair of the Scottish Police Federation David Threadgold has said that officers “cannot cope” with the number of complaints under the SNP’s new hate crime law.
Speaking on Radio 4’s Today programme, he warned that law is being “weaponised” by those who make complaints for “personal gain or political point scoring”. He added: “People will use this legislation for their own means and that is not an effective use of police time.”
Mr Threadgold said: “The confusion that exists because of the interpretation by people who look at this new legislation through their own viewpoints creates confusion for police officers in Scotland who are trying to deliver this law.”…

Well, duh. Who couldn’t see this coming? Only the willfully blind to the facts would have expected something different.
mozlums lie, whine, complain and demand anyway. Now that they have a “law” making the lying, whining, complaining and demanding a police matter…in their favor…it’s time to pass out the candy and do the ululation.
Did a neighbor say something about the fake prophet taking a child…and uh, doing some evil thing; or maybe that he had slaves and traded them? Call the police. Or perhaps the neighbor asked if it was really necessary for all those cars to park in his yard while the street filled with males carrying carpets and doing the bending thing.
Of course, others might …the perverts of the alphabet…be calling in to say someone quoted Jesus to them. He said, “In the beginning, God made them male and female.” That’s a sentence that will be putting people behind bars if the homosexuals and those with the idea of twisting the souls and minds of little kids, hear it.
Soon now, Poland police can also be saying the same thing about being overwhelmed.
Tony Rice says
Sad to say YOUR comments include something that could well fall foul of the new law by the implication homosexuals have the idea (and obviously your belief and accusation ) of ” twisting ” the souls and minds of little kids “. Shame on you , I wonder the real/hidden reason. Do you live in Scotland ?
somehistory says
Why are you shouting at me? It seems you do not understand my comment and yours make no sense to me
I feel no shame, whatsoever.
Do **you** live in Scotland or Lala land?

Any Law that regulates speech is bad… PERIOD
somehistory says
Speech should be free, even if we don’t like hearing it. As long as it isn’t calling for things like rape and murder.
John Smith says
Tony it was completely uncalled for to attack Somehistory like that. I understood what Somehistory was trying to put across, if you couldn’t then that’s your fault.
somehistory says
Thank you very much, John.
I hope you and family are doing well.

Agreed, John.

I interpreted her comment differently, Tony.
She was identifying two groups:
1. Homosexuals
2. Those with the idea of twisting the souls and minds of little kids
Hoi Polloi says
I agree. I thought sh was merely making the point that long accepted readings would be criminalized.

Thank you, James. And yes, HP, I was. (the nonsense of ‘trans’ stuff esp is being *protected*) And thank you.

The ISLAMIFICATION of Scotland gathers pace. But the current law is not as bad as it was originally intended and drafted by Hamza 2 years or so ago when he included the requirement that anything said in PRIVATE conversations should be reported to the Police for potential prosecution. When asked the intention, answer if any adverse comment made re HIS religion .
gravenimage says
Thanks for letting us know that this law was even *more* disturbing originally. Just appalling.
Sanatani American says
This was a dumb-ass act, to begin with. Isn’t SNP, (dis)ably led by a paki, all about Scottish independence from the English? So, on the very basis of this act, SNP can never criticize England or the English people as that would be deemed insulting. Thereby, the SNP would be guilty of breaking their own law.
D’oh!
gravenimage says
I doubt this law will ever be enforced in that way.
Hoi Polloi says
Humza Yousaf’s racist speech has been the target of many complainants. He says in answer that everyone who opposes him is merely far right and beneath notice. His relative was the target of a complaint under this policy for posting a swastika, but the complainant was denied for not being Jewish. Further, Humza’s BIL was just charged with abduction and extortion. It seems he should be the first one sentenced.
somehistory says
Thank you, HP, for that. I had seen the headline about the complaint of the swastika and its denial. I didn’t read it, and therefore, didn’t know the perp was so highly ‘connected.’
There is so much to read, so much evil coming down the pike, it’s impossible to take it all in with limited time. One reason for coming to this site and finding out what others know. I learn a lot from your comments.

How about since the victim died, charging the group of extortionists and kidnappers with murder?

I would suggest that the person who complained about the hooked cross, who had their complaint refused by the police because of their race, was in fact being treated “less favourably” than the police would have treated someone else of another race, insofar as the complainant was denied the right to make a complaint and have it taken seriously.
The police have acknowledged that the complainant was treated in this way because of a “protected characteristic” – the complainant’s race. This is actually unlawful.
According to the Equality Act 2010, race is a “protected characteristic” and if a person is treated unfavourably due to any of the protected characteristics listed in the Act, then that is an act of direct discrimination, which is unlawful.
If Police Scotland have a policy which has people being treated differently, and this results in anyone being treated less favourably due to a “protected characteristic” then that is what is known as indirect discrimination, which is again unlawful.
I would argue that Police Scotland were breaking the longstanding anti-discrimination laws when they refused to accept the complaint about the hooked cross because of the complainant’s race.
Hoi Polloi says
Very good point. I hope the complaint is refiled with this additional charge.

Yeah, that would be awesome. While at it, impersonate Paki, Iranian, Pali jihadists blaspheming islam while VPNing from those very countries, and send the police either on wild goose chases, or hunt down real jihadists on grounds of blasphemy

Many of the complaints about the inbreed invader Humza Yousaf – hilarious.

With regards Mr. Yousaf’s comments about the people speaking out against this legislation: Allegedly Mr. Yousaf said that the “only people” doing so were “far right.”
As a matter of logic, this means that where the subject term is people complaining about the new legislation and the predicate term is people who are “far right,” the subject terms is distributed and the A proposition (All S are P) is true.
Now here is Section 4 of the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act 2021:
4Offences of stirring up hatred
(1)A person commits an offence if—
(a)the person—
(i)behaves in a manner that a reasonable person would consider to be threatening, abusive or insulting, or
(ii)communicates to another person material that a reasonable person would consider to be threatening, abusive or insulting, and
(b)either—
(i)in doing so, the person intends to stir up hatred against a group of persons based on the group being defined by reference to race, colour, nationality (including citizenship), or ethnic or national origins, or
(ii)a reasonable person would consider the behaviour or the communication of the material to be likely to result in hatred being stirred up against such a group.
I could be argued that Mr. Yousaf’s comments are unlawful, insofar as he behaved in a manner that a reasonable person would find insulting, and a reasonable person would consider the behaviour to be likely to result in hatred being stirred up against all of the white Scottish people who have complained about the new legislation.
Note that by saying the “only” people who have complained were “far right” he was labelling JK Rowling as “far right” – I would suggest that any reasonable person would find this to be insulting to Ms. Rowling, and any reasonable person would consider her being labelled as “far right” to be likely to result in hatred being stirred up against her.
It follows that Mr. Yousaf is acting in a manner that is unlawful.

UK: Scotland police overwhelmed by ‘simply unmanageable’ volume of calls since implementation of new hate crime law
Speaking on Radio 4’s Today programme, he warned that law is being “weaponised” by those who make complaints for “personal gain or political point scoring”. He added: “People will use this legislation for their own means and that is not an effective use of police time.”
……………………………….
Any reasonably intelligent person could have foreseen this. What does this say about Scotland’s leadership?
Of course with a Muslim first minister this is considerably more sinister than just ignorance. I’m sure he wants to see Scottish police enabling targeting those who are deemed un-Islamic, while hobbling their attempts to actually protect the public.
Reziac says
“…the interpretation by people who look at this new legislation through their own viewpoints…”
Um. Isn’t that exactly what a “hate crime law” is intended to encourage??
abu taleb says
I just don’t understand how comes a muslim becomes a leader of a government in the west. Those who vote formthem must be brain dead.
