“The University offered to consider new proposals on divestment and shareholder activism”
Columbia University (to no one’s surprise) is going the way of Northwestern, and offering the terror supporters rampaging across its campus a deal.
Columbia University President Minouche Shafik published a letter to students today (Wednesday) following the removal of the anti-Israel protesters who took over Hamilton Hall on Tuesday morning and were removed by police on Tuesday night in which she revealed that the university administration had been willing to consider the protesters’ demands, including divestment from Israel.
Shafik said that during talks between the administration and protesters, “the University offered to consider new proposals on divestment and shareholder activism, to review access to our dual degree programs and global centers, to reaffirm our commitment to free speech, and to launch educational and health programs in Gaza and the West Bank. Some other universities have achieved agreement on similar proposals.”
Despite the violence, hate, and calls for the murder of Jews displayed at the anti-Israel protests on the Columbia campus over the last two weeks, Shafik said that the protesters “are also fighting for an important cause, for the rights of Palestinians and against the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza. They have many supporters in our community and have a right to express their views and engage in peaceful protest.”
She added, “We also must continue with urgency our ongoing dialogue on the important issues that have been raised in recent months, especially the balance between free speech and discrimination and the role of a university in contributing to better outcomes in the Middle East.”
Hardly surprising.
The Hamas supporters are negotiating with their own political allies after all. They know the university won’t do anything to them and that the more they escalate, the more concessions they win.
In this case, the concessions will include funding for “humanitarian aid programs” in terror areas, which will amount to funding for terrorism, and to provide more options for boycotting Israel.
Hamas supporters negotiate just like Hamas does. And Columbia U is playing the local version of the Biden administration.

Prospective college students need to look very carefully at where they go to school. Aside from places like Hillside College, and some southern schools, the choices are pretty slim.

Many universities and colleges across the United States and in the United Kingdom have been thoroughly infiltrated and influenced by the insidious stealth jihadists.

Let me see now: A bank robber goes in with guns and a note and tells all of the workers and customers to get on the floor, hands behind their heads while he puts all of the money and their jewelry in bags.
Alarm sounds and the cops show up.
What does the criminal want? A helicopter and freedom to leave the country or he’ll begin shooting.
The cops immediately give in, the helicopter lands on the roof, the criminal escapes and all of the customers are sent home without their money and jewelry.
Why does this happen? Because the criminal was born into a poor family, his father went to prison for killing a guy for his wallet, and the mother was a woman of the street walker type who drugged, slugged and robber her ‘customers.’. Gotta’ feel sorry for this guy. He had no other choice.
Besides, the bank has insurance and if the customers hadn’t insured their jewelry, that’s their just desserts for being neglectful.
Isn’t that the way “negotiations'” work when dealing with lawbreakers?

The response to schools caving to the Hamas promoters will be from American companies run by real Americans. Graduates from these schools will not be hired, period. Like any boycott, this comes with a measure of unfairness but war is never fair and this is war. If you come from a school that made a deal with the Hamas promoters, you better look for another company to work for.

Obvious and predictable. The conclusion of this spectacle was clearly written from the start. Orchestrated from the beginning with pre-made signs and identical pup tents, the ending to the saga was just as prefabricated. There’s always a method to the Red-Green alliances’ madness, even if they have to trash a beautiful campus to get there.
If we had a functioning DOJ and FBI, the personal cellphone and emails of this quisling (at best) president would be confiscated and investigated because by now we should understand the agenda of the Muslim Brotherhood whose goal is the destruction of America, as stated in their own memorandum.

The president of Columbia today said ‘The university has been filled with “turmoil and tension” after protesters took over Hamilton Hall and created an encampment that has resulted in clashes with authorities.
“The university made a sincere and good offer but it was not accepted,” said Shafik. “A group of protesters crossed a new line with the occupation of Hamilton Hall. It was a violent act that put our students at risk, as well as putting the protesters at risk. I walked through the building and saw the damage which was distressing.”
Shafik said antisemitism and anti-Muslim bias have existed for “a long time.” She urged student to show “empathy” and “compassion” for one another.
What a crock…. Antisemitism, Jew Hatred, and Israel Hatred have existed a very long time. There has been no such thing as anti muslim bias. Nobody prevented muslims from going to classes but muslims and leftists prevented Jews from going to classes and attacked them, and threatened them and threatened them againa and again and again… and all we get is this ugly lying about how it was just two people each being oppressed. What a crock, and she should be fired for that alone, not too mention the attacks upon the institution; the damages caused and the slander of Jews and Israel over and over.
