World Health Organization (W.H.O.) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Tuesday that Israel’s proposed “full-scale invasion on Rafah” would be a “humanitarian catastrophe.”
“We appeal to Israel not to proceed. We urge all parties to work for a ceasefire and lasting peace,” Tedros said in a statement on Twitter.
In another post on Tuesday, Tedros said he and Dr. Mike Ryan, executive director of the W.H.O. Health Emergencies Program, met with Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini of the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to “discuss the dire and extremely worrisome health and humanitarian situation in Gaza.”
The U.S. and many of its allies suspended funding to UNRWA, the U.N.’s Palestinian relief organization, in January after Israeli intelligence revealed that UNRWA employees actively participated in the Hamas atrocities of October 7. Several of those allies have since resumed funding, citing the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, even though the U.N. has not completed its investigation of how Hamas operatives came to be employed by the relief agency.
“The ongoing man-made starvation and blockade of humanitarian aid and basic services is increasing the risk of epidemics that can be deadly,” Tedros said, once again demanding an immediate ceasefire on humanitarian grounds.
Like many other international officials who have called for a humanitarian ceasefire, Tedros did not address the fact that Hamas is the party that keeps walking away from negotiations, essentially scuttling every round of ceasefire talks when the smallest compromise to its maximalist demands is proposed.
Hamas is, of course, also the party that started the war in Gaza, and one of the positions it refuses to compromise on is releasing the hostages it took during the outrageous crime against humanity it perpetrated against Israeli civilians on October 7.
It should be noted that Tedros did criticize Hamas for taking hostages in October and called for their “immediate release, on health and humanitarian grounds.” Hamas did not respond to this demand….

Tedros, although a health official, is oblivious to the fact that failure to wipe out him completely will result in the same type of massacre and war occurring in the future. Would he be in favor of stopping a course of antibiotics that are prescribed for seven days, on day, five because the bacteria are essentially defeated? Just as the bacteria would come back in super force and overrun the host, so too would Hamas rebuild, regroup, and attack again and again. They are no different than pathogens, whose purpose in life appears to be to kill!

Tedros and the W.H.O. miscalculated several things during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic, which arguably led to a lot of more desths.
I believe that he is also miscalculating in his comments here. If Israel doesn’t finish wiping out the dingleberries of HamAss, the terrorists will just regroup and murder, rape and mutilate a lot more innocent people. So, Israel has to exterminate them.

Mike, I remember seeing Tedros on the TV news quite a lot during the early stages of Covid, but I could not remember much of what he had said. I remember that some commentators said he was controlled by China to quite some degree. Just the other night,here in Australia, a commentator was saying that he buggered things up with Covid early on by saying that it was quite OK to let travellers into countries, such as they did for a while in Australia, including from China and that was a mistake. They were talking about this because the WHO have some new plan for dealing with pandemics and the commentators were saying that it would be stupid to follow any bullshit scheme or treaty from WHO because they bungled the Covid pandemic. He is wrong about Israel and hamas but what he is saying is just the brainless bullshit you get, fashionable bullshit, from all the lefties. I see the UN as useless although maybe there are a few worthwhile people who happen to work there. The boss, Guterres, seems to be an especially revolting left wing shithead to me. I can’t stand the sight of him and think he is wrong on every issue.

Tim: good points. Tedros (his full name is tricky….Tedros Adnom Ghebreyesus I think it is) is Ethiopian, and China had/has quite a bit of money invested in Ethiopia and several other African countries, so that might have something to do with it.

That could be the connection, Mike. I could only vaguely remember this Tedros connection to China as something some commentators here in Australia mentioned back at the time that Covid was just hitting, but i couldn’t remember any details about why they thought that China had a big influence on him. i have a very low opinion of the UN in general, seems a very partisan, western world hating mob although I don’t take much notice of it as I do tend to think of it as useless. Tedros is someone I haven’t heard much about lately, but Guterres pops up a lot and seems like a far left clown. Tedros’s views on Israel are, of course, fashionably left wing and idiotic. He’d probably love to see Israel wiped out.
