An 18-year-old Chechen national was arrested on Wednesday May 22 at his home by police officers from the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI), announced the Ministry of the Interior in a press release. Suspected of wanting to commit an attack targeting the football matches planned in Saint-Étienne (Loire) for the Olympic Games, he was indicted before being placed in pre-trial detention on Sunday.
“On May 22, 2024, the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI) proceeded in Saint-Etienne (Loire) to the arrest of an 18-year-old Chechen national suspected of wanting to commit an Islamist-inspired attack on the national grounds,” the ministry said in a press release, specifying that it was “the first foiled attack against the Olympic Games” in Paris.

The information was confirmed by the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT), which indicates that the young man was indicted as a leader of a terrorist criminal association with a view to preparing crimes against people. “He is accused of having, in the name of the jihadist ideology of the Islamic State, considered committing violent action, in particular by targeting gatherings of supporters, on the sidelines of sporting events to be held in Saint Etienne during the Olympic Games”, details the PNAT.
Arrived in 2023 in France with his family
According to BFMTV, the suspect living in Saint-Étienne and arriving in France in 2023 with his family, denied the facts during his police custody. He would only have mentioned “exchanges” and “conversations” on encrypted messaging services. Videos and images from the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium were discovered on his phone and computer. In addition, the young man would be unknown to the police and justice services.“This is the first foiled attack against the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the 50th attack foiled by our intelligence services since 2017,” underlines the Ministry of the Interior.

If I were still a big fan of the Olympics, I would not attend any of the events in Paris for a couple of reasons. First is the obvious chance of being killed by some degenerate slug for their evil concept, Allah. Second is that the Trudeau government moved many of the slugs to the rural areas of France where the local police are inadequately prepared to confront such monsters. By moving them, Trudeau is telling his fellow citizens as well as the rest of the world that it is unsafe, to say the least, to permit such trash to inhabit any place within France but since the small villages are not that important in elections, to hell with the local citizens.
