“Shutting Afghan women out of key UN conference to appease Taliban ‘a betrayal,’” by Tom Levitt, Annie Kelly and Zahra Joya, Guardian, June 21, 2024:
Excluding Afghan women from an upcoming UN conference on Afghanistan would be a “betrayal” of women and girls in the country, say human rights groups and former politicians.
The Taliban are reportedly demanding that no Afghan women be allowed to participate in the UN meeting in Doha starting 30 June, set up to discuss the international community’s approach to Afghanistan, and that women’s rights are not on the agenda….
Tirana Hassan, executive director at Human Rights Watch, said: “Excluding women risks legitimising the Taliban’s abuses and triggering irreparable harm to the UN’s credibility as an advocate for women’s rights and women’s meaningful participation.”
In trying to bring the Taliban to the negotiating table now, the UN was giving in to their demands to exclude women’s rights, said the former Afghan minister of women’s affairs Sima Samar.
“This situation is an indirect submission to the will of the Taliban. Law, democracy and sustainable peace are not possible without including half of the population of the society who are women. I don’t think we have learned anything from past mistakes….

My reaction to the photo, Wellington, was, what a bunch of knuckle dragging primitive subhuman scum these creatures are. As you say, the morons in our societies, who know nothing about islam, are letting these barbaric Muslims into our countries in large numbers and seem to think that it is all going to work out OK. How people can be so stupid is beyond my comprehension. These Muslim knuckle draggers want to have us all living the 7th century Arab style of life, the good old days from their deranged and evil point of view. I was thinking that letting Muslims immigrate into our societies is like the Trojan Horse and the dumb bastards running our countries are saying, yeah, what a lovely horse, let it in. Letting islam in has to be the most idiotic decision ever.

Afghanistan is a member of UN Human Rights Council, so women must be considered as not human by the UN.

The Islamist states in the UN make up almost a quarter of the charter and a third of the world population which means that females don’t count for much in the organization. If one also takes into account the small number of truly democrat nations in the rotten basket, women don’t have anywhere the clout required so the UN will probably accede to the degenerate inbreds of Afghanistan.
In 2002 many of the Afghanistan ladies would immediately remove the hijab and outer clothing after having entered the Embassy compound in Kabul. One could also sense their revile of having to put everything back on upon leaving for the evening. It would bring a sorrowful feeling.
