The Turkish House in New York held a panel Wednesday titled “Combatting Islamophobia in the Modern World.”
The panel was jointly organized by the Consulates General of Türkiye, Indonesia and Pakistan.
Turkish Consul General Reyhan Ozgur said that Islamophobia undermines the principles of diversity, unity and mutual respect in society, similar to any form of hatred.

Prof. Enes Bayrakli from the Turkish-German University cited Israel’s ongoing attacks in Gaza as an example of Islamophobia, saying that the genocide in Gaza, alongside many other revelations, exposed the global apartheid system.
Raza Ahmad Rumi, a Pakistani writer, reminded the audience of Islam’s rich cultural and tolerant history….

It’s arguably possible to find a word in our time more putridly deceptive than the term “Islamophobia” but it would be a challenge to do so. A few that come to mind as “contenders” to this deceptive and invidious term are “gender fluid,” “non-binary,” “basket of deplorables” and “Christian nationalism.”
“Promoting” all these rotten terms, which are sadly plentiful, are two groups above all, i.e., Leftists and Muslims. Hence conclude accordingly to the extent that you still retain your common sense, a proper moral directive and that built-in crap detector you were born with that to the extent one is a Leftist or a Muslim they are a plethora of negatives—deceivers, fools, miscreants, ignoramuses, hypocrites, et al. Besides the fact that this happened in NY….so much has happened in that city regarding islam and its mozlum adherents…there are two parts that kind of stand out.

Summing up your accurate post, somehistory, I find once again that, though an agnostic myself as you know, all major religions other than Islam are worthy of praise, possessed of many subtleties and conducive overall to the betterment of mankind.
My two favorite major religions, as I have noted many times before here at JW, are Judaism and Christianity due to their laudable emphasis on the dignity and worth of the individual such as even Buddhism and Hinduism do not do.
I mean no insult to Buddhism and Hinduism here and, if only all Muslims would wake up tomorrow Buddhists or Hindus, mankind would be infinitely better off, but no religions have centered on the individual more so than Judaism and Christianity have and this is in part why I respect them tremendously even though, seen from your understandable perspective, I remain invincibly ignorant of the correctness and accuracy of their theology.

My family and I are doing as well as can be expected in these turbulent times. My daughter has been told she is the most reliable employee the company has.
My two granddaughters are such a joy to be around. The 7 year-old has learned to play chess, and has managed to beat me twice, and I was not just letting her win, she did it by having paid attention when watching her father play online.
I have to tell you an experience. I was lamenting to my son about weeds growing after I had pulled them only days before and said, “I don’t know where they are coming from,” and she said, “They come from seeds; or little bits of root you leave in the ground.”
So, to sum it up, life is great, even with all of the problems people keep making for everyone.
I hope you and family are doing as well. 🙂
