New in PJ Media:
There have been four assassinations of presidents in American history, and every one of them has aided the Democrats. This is not to say that the Democrat party engineered the assassinations for its own advantage, but nevertheless, it’s true: each time a president has been killed, the Democrats were the beneficiaries. If Donald Trump had been murdered on Saturday evening, it would not have been the killing of a sitting president, but once again, the left would have reaped the benefits.
When Abraham Lincoln became the first president to be murdered while in office, the Democrat party, which had supported slavery and split over secession, got a new lease on life. In 1864, Lincoln had run for reelection on a national unity ticket. The Republican party even renamed itself the National Union party, and chose as Lincoln’s running mate one of the few pro-union Democrats, Andrew Johnson of the border state of Tennessee.
When the Confederate sympathizer and staunch Democrat John Wilkes Booth shot Lincoln on April 14, 1865, the party that was still in the midst of leading a massive and bloody insurrection against the federal authority in Washington was suddenly back in the White House. Lincoln had called for “malice toward none” and “charity for all,” but none of those who followed in his wake could figure out how to deliver that, and most weren’t even interested in trying. As Rating America’s Presidents explains, President Andrew Johnson opposed the enfranchisement and equality of rights of blacks. In this, Johnson departed from Lincoln’s course, as his martyred predecessor had favored civil rights for the freed slaves. In May 1865, Johnson granted amnesty to all ex-Confederates except those who owned property worth $20,000 ($300,000 today), that is, virtually the entire former ruling class, and soon they were back in power in what came to be known as “the Solid South,” a segregationist Democrat voting bloc that lasted a century.
The Democrats benefited again on July 2, 1881, when a deranged man named Charles Guiteau stepped up behind President James A. Garfield and fired his gun twice, hitting him in the back and arm (Garfield died on Sept. 19). Guiteau cried out, “I am a Stalwart and now Arthur is President!” Arthur was Chester A. Arthur, who had been awarded the Republicans’ vice presidential spot in order to balance the ticket. Garfield was a champion of civil service reform, while Arthur and Guiteau were Stalwarts, those who favored the “spoils system.” Under the “spoils system,” the president gave federal jobs to his supporters; proponents of civil service reform wanted such jobs to be given on the basis of merit.

Interesting history; thank you.

Robert may not have meant it this way, but the article gives the impression that the Cuban Missile crisis preceded the Bay of Pigs; of course the BOP preceded the crisis. This matters because it supplies an obvious motive for the USSR to put missiles in Cuba: to help defend the island against another American invasion.
James Lincoln says
Jedothek,
Also, The U.S. placed Jupiter intermediate-range ballistic missiles in Turkey in 1961.
The Jupiters were quite inaccurate, very vulnerable, and hence only useful for a first strike.
This made them “provocative” in the eyes of the Soviets.

Not this one as I say said this one will bring down the deep state once and for all

This was 100% a democrat stand down of security in order to get Trump killed. It was not incompetence. This was a stand down ordered by Obama to Mayorkas. Many ex-snipers & Secret Service have come out & said there is no was this was not an inside job. The 20 year old patsy was on the roof for 26 minutes, & police saw him & ran away. They only killed the patsy after he had taken the shots.
This was a deliberate attempt by the Democrat Deep State to kill Trump, & they will try again. The head of the Secret Service & Mayorkas need to be impeached & prosecuted, Obama tried for high treason

I’m no expert on U.S. politics but weeks ago I began to realise that the Left had tried every method they could possibly think of to bring Trump down.
Russia collusion, impeachment, incitement to insurrection, endless legal actions… none of which had succeeded.
It was apparent that the only possible remaining action was murder. Such is the level of hatred of the Left for Trump, I was actually surprised it hadn’t yet been tried.

Not an expert, but what difference is a slightly slanted roof got todo with security. From the photos it looked like the Secret Service snipers where on a much steeper roof that the shooter.
If not an intentional oversight on the security experts, then they are totally incompetent at their job of protecting Pres. Trump. No way you leave that roof top uncovered by security!
WPM says
The roof opposite the snipers roof had more of a pitch then the sniper’s roof at least 2 secret service agents with long guns and scopes where up there. Why they waited for a 20 year old to fire first shot before taking him out? At 150 yards their scopes should have showed the rifle aimed at Trump .It was reported they had him in their sights at least a min. before the young fall guy took his shot.

WPM,
As more details emerge, this assassination attempt is starting to smell really bad.

He was on the roof for 26 minutes, & the police ran away when they saw him. Plus someone had to give him the rifle & ladder to get up there. Total stand down, inside job, deep state attempt at killing Trump. If the head of the Secret Service keeps her job you know she followed her orders of standing down.
