Sweden: Government considers introducing Islamic blasphemy laws, banning Qur’an-burning

This would be a capitulation to jihad violence that would only encourage more such violence.

Practitioners of Islam differ from those of other religions in that they do not respect democratic freedoms and rights, and in many cases they do not hesitate to resort to violence and terror when they feel violated in their faith. The government has investigated and is now considering introducing Muslim blasphemy laws citing that this is required to “guarantee the security of the kingdom”.

Demonstrations against Islam with Koran burning as an element have led to extensive riots in Sweden, staged by Muslim migrants and their involvement in gang criminal circles with the same background. Even abroad, the burning of Korans in Sweden has led to violent protests.

Among other things, the Swedish embassy in Iraq’s capital, Baghdad, was stormed by angry Muslims. Assessors believe that the terrorist threat has increased in Sweden due to the extensive immigration from Muslim countries. As this development is not deemed to be reversible, it remains to meet “the Muslim civil society” – so-called Islamization.

This has already happened in a number of areas and now the government is considering taking another decisive step, one which means that the constitutional civil liberties and rights are severely curtailed. Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer (M), together with Brå’s director general Mattias Larsson who investigated the issue, spoke about this at a press conference on Friday.

The Ordinance Act is extended
Amendments to the constitutions themselves are cumbersome to make. The government therefore instead aims to extend the public order law so that the police will be able to stop Koran burnings with reference to the security of the kingdom.

Until now, it has only been possible to say no or cancel if the safety of the current location cannot be guaranteed. Now the government wants the police to be given the right to assess the security situation in the whole country and also Swedish interests in Muslim countries when deciding on a permit application for a demonstration critical of Islam.

The government has appointed an inquiry to look into such changes to the law. The investigator says in a comment to the media that he believes that the rules can be designed so that both the Swedish constitution and European law can be respected.

May encourage Muslim violence
The changes to the law that Larsson is playing with are such that instead of curbing them, they may encourage Muslim violence in Sweden and abroad. Namely, the police must look in the rearview mirror and deny or grant permission based on what happened at previous gatherings critical of Islam.

If it has turned violent in the past, the police should be able to reject an application for a demonstration permit citing that there is a “tangible danger” that reactions from Muslims in Sweden or abroad could threaten Sweden’s security – the more violence you stage, the greater the chance that upcoming demonstrations are stopped.

“You have to look back at what has happened when similar gatherings have been held,” Larsson explained to the media.

Koran burnings could have been stopped
Tangible danger is defined as threats of terrorist acts or crimes that seriously damage the state or foreign administration’s ability to carry out its tasks. According to Säpo’s assessment, the terrorist threat level is already permanently elevated and could be reason enough for the police to say no.

Larsson further said that if the ordinance had been provided with that type of opportunity to circumvent the constitution, the police could have refused permission for Koran burnings last year and thus appeased the Muslims who attacked the Swedish embassy in Baghdad.

The changes to the law that are being considered should not only give the police increased opportunities to ban demonstrations critical of Islam. Even in cases where the authority grants a permit, one must be able to step in and decide when, where and how such a permit may be carried out.

The police can decide when, where and how
For example, the police must be able to decide that the demonstration is held at night and/or in a secluded place where few or no one will notice it. You must also be able to limit the content of the manifestation.

For example, it should be possible to ban Koran burnings, showing satirical images of the Prophet Muhammad and other elements that it is judged that Muslims may feel particularly offended by and tend to react to with acts of violence.

Rebuts criticism of blasphemy or religious freedom laws
Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M), who is the main initiator of the investigation into a Muslim blasphemy law, does not want to comment on the concrete proposals today. He tells the media that he is waiting until they have been out for a referral.

He claims, however, that the changes to the law should not be perceived as a blasphemy law or a religious freedom law, let alone tailored to meet Islam and Muslims.

Gets harsh criticism from the Sweden Democrats
The more eloquent are you in other parties in the Tidö government base. The Sweden Democratic profile, also the chairman of the Riksdag’s justice committee, Richard Jomshof.

In a comment on X, he clarifies that the Sweden Democrats “will not stand behind any changes that mean that Sweden in practice introduces blasphemy laws”, that the party “stands up for Swedish freedom of expression in all situations” and “will never accept that Islamists are allowed to limits to what we have the right to say and do in Sweden.”

  2. I haven’t been following Swedish politics, but the last I recall, the Sweden Democrats had been elected to government, and they were supposedly reasonably right leaning, & most willing to crack down on immigration. Is that the same party that’s considering banning blasphemy of islam?

  5. They are looking to protect the burning of the Koran. Until the book of the Koran by his instruction allowed Muslims to burn and kill Christians and Jewish.

    • I figure, the Christian persecution starts, in earnest, at the halfway point of the 7 year Tribulation period (coming very soon), or in other words, at the 3 1/2 year point, into the 7 years.
      If anyone could read Rev 20:4, this is what will happen to all people, Christian, Jews, etc., who have dedicated their life to God, and refuse the “mark of the beast”.
      Backing up some, when this 3 1/2 year mark, begins, this will be when the Antichrist becomes a physical human male, and has most of the world’s population, through his actions, terribly fooled, and will have them seriously believing he’s “god”. These will want to receive his mark, to show him their worship and devotion (and of course, to be able to buy (food for example), and sell).
      Once he has the majority of the world’s population under his direction and control, he’ll need help with the rest of the people, who will know who he is, and will refuse his mark.
      Now he can’t be in more than one place at a time, as a physical human man, like he could when he was in spirit form, so he’ll need help to exterminate those who are dedicated to God only, and refuse that “mark of the beast”, those who are all around the world.
      Who will help him? It’s simple to know today, this group of “people” who hate Christians, Jews, and all of God’s people, just as much, if not more, than the Antichrist does. Let’s not forget that they hate all the infidels, too!
      Well, it’s not all the citizens of all these countries, that will be doing that horrible thing of Rev 20:4. They don’t have all of the anger and hate, to exterminate all of God’s people (Ok, today we’re watching and reading the news of the hatred and anger of regular “people”
      in many colleges hating the Jews.
      Along with all the Palestinians and Hamas people, in the streets, showing their anger and hatred of Jews also (who should all go back to their muslim countries, if you ask me!)
      So before all of these demonstrations, there was, and still is, the immigration of muslims.
      Now, think of thousands, if not millions of muslims who left their homes, their countries, everyone in their families, to come hundreds of miles away from their homes, to all of these, MANY NON muslim countries, of which they have nothing in common with anything in them. They hate their food, their clothes, their religions, but especially the citizens, all of those infidels! Did THAT many walk, boat, or ride, all because of the free stuff they would get? No, I wouldn’t believe it. Cause all the free stuff would run out eventually, and then why are they still living in all of these MANY NON-muslim countries? So is there a purpose for all of them, staying where they are now, instead of going back to their own homes and families?
      My answer is satan put them in these MANY countries for a pre-planned reason, ahead of time.
      Rev 20:4. Problem of who is going to be in charge of what it says in that verse…is solved.
      It’s strange to watch the situation too. These muslims can do anything they want, basically they can all get away with murder, because once they kill someone, their given a label of “Mental problem(s)”, and released, back on the street. I wish I could have counted all the times, I read that a muslim just had “mental problems”, it was SO frequent!

      And those same words were used, in all of the many countries, they live in. Strange that was, huh? Evil takes care of their own. How could they be in jail, and work for Satan too?
      The beginning of the situation was strange to me at the time, and that is….why did EVERY leader of every NON-muslim country, welcome these thousands, if not millions, of muslims into their border (basically all at the same time), without knowing or caring, of what they might believe in?? The evil man strikes again, speaking to all of these many leaders, telling them all, to just let these “people” in their borders/countries. It’s easy to do what evil tells you to do, when a individual is already evil themselves, in their heart and soul.

    If one is not allowed to say, write or think that (or similar words) because mozlums don’t like it and will rage, riot and murder, then one has instituted a law against it…and against what mozlums view as blasphemy.

  9. To stop and think about it, the burning the Qur ‘an is a very stupid thing to do. By contrast ,an intelligent way to handle that religious book of Islam and all the deadly violence that it inspires to to study and examine that specific religious book of Islam and then expose the errors and contradictions that it contains.

    This has actually already been done, For example, on pages 145 through 157 in THE ISLAMIC INVASION by Robert Morey in which he wrote a section on the Qu‘ran with its self-contradictions. Just two of the many he cited are the following “The Qu’ran differs on whether a day is a thousand years or fifty thousand years in God’s sight’ and “Who was first to believe? Abraham or Moses [Sura 6:14 versus 7:143]? The above is inconsistent and illogical. Further, Morey wrote about “The fact that Judaism and Christianity broke up into different sects was used in the Qu ‘ran to prove that they are not of God [Suras 30:20-32. 42:13, 14]. Yet Islam has broken up into many warring sects and therefore cannot be true if the Quran is right.”

    Moreover, Morey in his book shows many more contradictions and absurdities in the Quran, there are and how Muhammad incorporated extra Biblical and Jewish folklore along with pre-Islamic Arabian myth and parts of Zoroastrian and Hindu stories into the Quran.

    Furthermore, the Muslims claim that “the Quran is the direct, literal word of God unmodified in any way by the Prophet who uttered them at the bidding of God.” In addition , in the book UNVEILING ISLAM by Ergun Mehmet Caner and Eethi Caner has shown that the Quran was modified in the following account on pages 45. “Muhammad felt the need to improve on the words of Allah, since he changed Allah’s wisdom for his own on several occasions. A hadith tells of the nonchalant emendations of Muhammad:’ On a number of occasions he [a scribe] had, with the Prophet’s consent changed the closing words of verses. For example, when the prophet had said ‘God is mighty and wise ‘ Adbollah b. Abi Sarh suggested writing down ‘Knowing and wise’ and the Prophet answered that there was no objection. Having observed a succession of changes of this type, Adbollah renounced Islam on the grounds that revelations, if from God could not be changed at the prompting of a scribe such as himself. After his apostasy he went to Mecca and joined the Qorayshites.’ Other writers reveal that later Muhammad and his people did go war with the Qorayshites and he personally killed Abdollah. Obviously Abdollah knew too much and Muhammad wanted Abdollah’s knowledge to die with him.”

    In conclusion, the Qu ‘ran is not only a fiction, it’s also a hoax.

    Even though the above essay was posted before, it should now be added that the last statement of the above that “the Qu ‘ran is not only a fiction, it’s also a hoax.” To put this in a Biblical way. As in from the Bible, it may be truly explained that the Qu ‘ran is a deceptive work of “the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.” Ephesians 14:12.. [N.I.V.]

    • Walter: your points are well-taken. Islamists assert that non-Muslims are “criminal kuffars” because the Quran is supposedly clear, consistent and perfect, so any doubts about the Quran, Muhammad or Islam constitute a “capital crime.”

      However, as you have amply demonstrated, that claim (ie. that the Quran is perfect) is demonstrably FALSE.

I would hate to be him, and read about some other author, when Mr. Spencer has wrote numerous books, and has spoken in so many seminars….and so many other things, I couldn’t write them all here, but someone else has a fine page on practically everything Mr. Spencer has done, and it’s a long list. I, myself, have enjoyed his teachings on many videos I’ve seen online. And I’ve been a newsletter subscriber with his website here for probably 10 years or more. Here’s where you should look for Islamic teachings (once your finished with who?….oh yeah, someone named Morey).

      Seems like an insult to Mr. Spencer here, to mention someone else, and his work on the same topic, on his own website, especially when I’ve read everything you wrote about “Morey”, and Mr. Spencer has done everything, wrote everything, that you say that “Morey” wrote about, and probably better, with it probably being easier to understand.
      I’ll leave that alone for now, but you seem to know one verse of the bible. I suppose that doesn’t ,mean that you have studied bible prophecy for years, as I have.
      Because if you had, you would know that Satan loves to copy everything that God does or says, to have people follow him, unknowingly.
      But he’s the one, that has made man make, ALL OF THE MANY bibles that are out there, with all the words changed, some taken out, some replaced, and he’s also the one that made man make, ALL OF THE MANY religions out there.
      And I wonder if you know why. Maybe to have Christians, fighting among themselves, about which is the correct bible, or which is the best religion. And you wonder why so many new-born Christians leave the faith.
      So I just want to mention, that there is only one bible, and one religion. Maybe you’ve seen online, websites making this point? There are a few, and if you come upon one, I’d suggest you look upon the information seriously. Here are three verses you might want to read. And then find a good KJV, and stick only with that. It makes me so sad to see people with whatever the N.I.V is, but I don’t plan to pick up one anytime, either. And the only true religion there is, that I believe in, is Christianity. But it’s up to you, with what you feel like doing when it comes to bibles and religions, but I’ll hope you seek the truth in these matters.

      • Naturally I can’t speak for Mr. Spencer; but having other authors mentioned as having written on the same topics is not a threat to Mr. Spencer or his books.
        Mr. Raymond Ibrahim has also written books on the subject of islam and what mozlums have done through the ages, and sometimes, his writings are in the same Front Page Magazine as Mr. Spencer’s.
        This is also true of Dr. Jaime Glazov’s writings about islam.
        And articles from Mr. Steven Emerson are featured here as well.

        These ones actually support the Truth of what Mr. Spencer has written. They show he’s not making stuff up to sell his books.

        • Agreed, Somehistory. I consider Robert Spencer the single best writer on Islam today, but I have also read books by Pamela Geller, Brigitte Gabriel, Melanie Phillips, and Raymond Ibrahim–and that’s just off the top of my head–there are many others.

          I have never considered books by other Anti-Jihadists to be either a threat or an insult to Robert Spencer, and I would doubt that he does, either.

  10. Actually Quran burnings are a good tactic of many that the police can use to smoke out the radicals. Once identified they can be fined, jailed or expelled.

  11. Islam has many similarities to a deadly virus, once it enters the body, it starts growing, it causes serious damage to the body. If you try to remove it, you cause even more harm to the body, sometimes just trying to remove the virus can cause death to the body. There is a lot of pain and suffering meanwhile. The big difference is this virus was intentionally injected into the body, The western politicians insist that you allow the virus into your body or else! This is worse than any Hitchcock movie or twilight zone episode, this is really happening, not a TV show.

    Here are 2 considerations.

    1) they are demonic in that they have an agenda to “ steal, kill and destroy”

    2) they have been what the Bible describes as “ given over” to a reprobate mind. In other words they are so deceived and delusional, they view good as evil….and evil as good.

  15. Isn’t one big lesson in all of this that countries in the West need to end Muslim immigration? Otherwise the Muslim population always gets quickly large enough to be so intimidating that Constitutional laws get changed & degraded to avoid terrorist violence. There is no upside to Muslim immigration. Muslims not only don’t assimilate but deteriorate a country’s long existing freedoms & rights through the cowardice of the ruling parties to preventively deal with their threats when they are offended.
