The world takes no notice, because this cannot be blamed on Israel, and because it does not fit the media paradigm of Muslims as victims.
“Bombing in Nigeria’s Borno state kills more than 15 people, say police,” AP, August 2, 2024:
A bomb exploded in a roadside market in Nigeria’s Borno state killing at least 16 people and wounding dozens of others, police said. The government imposed a 24-hour curfew after the bombing attack, the second in recent weeks.
The attack happened at about 8 p.m. local time Wednesday at a teashop that hosts mostly locals in Kawori, a rural community in the Konduga area, some 50 kilometers (31 miles) from the state capital Maiduguri, according to local media reports.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack but analysts and some local officials suspected the Islamic militant group Boko Haram, which has since 2009 waged an insurgency in Nigeria and neighboring countries in the Lake Chad region….
Local police said the bomb used in Kawori was an improvised explosive device that was planted in the cafe, not a suicide attack. The police said 16 people were killed but did not give a definitive number of other victims who they said were “critically injured” and undergoing treatment in hospitals around the state. The state emergency management agency said about 24 people were seriously injured….
The insurgency by Boko Haram and its splinter group the Islamic State West Africa Province has created a humanitarian disaster in Nigeria, Cameroon, Niger and Chad, with more than 35,000 people killed and 2.6 million others displaced over the last 15 years.
The groups want to install an Islamic state across the four countries but mainly in Nigeria, West Africa’s oil giant of more than 200 million people divided almost equally between a mainly Christian south and a predominantly Muslim north….
“Hardly does a day pass without a Boko Haram incident against civilians, particularly in Borno State, but they go unreported because of lack of access to many areas,” Samuel said.

Bring back the Christian Crusades. I’m sorry,,,, violence is RARELY RARELY the answer. But in this case I submit there are no other choices.
Hope is not a strategy.
Ray Jarman says
Robert should have pointed out that most of the oil is in the Christian half of Nigeria while the Hausa states have little resources except evil which they use to the fullest.
Rick Smith says
Nigeria is a prime example of what Muslims do to you when they have the upper hand and your nation is weak.
I fully support Christian Crusades to take back all the lands Muslims have stolen from non-Muslims over 1400 years.
While I am a Secularist (and doesn’t everyone their own ideology is the best and should be universal?), if it comes down to a choice between Islam or Christianity ruling the world, I’m throwing my support behind the Christians.
The reason is that Christianity is genuinely a peaceful religion like Judaism. Additionally while most people might not realize it, but Christians and Atheists/Secularists hold over 90% of the same views on treating others as equals, on democracy, capitalism, etc…we only differ on a few issues which we can compromise on like abortion.
But more than a Crusade, I think Christians have other allies in all non-Muslims like Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Zoroastrians and so on. If there ever was a real ‘crusade against Islam’ it’d really be all of us non-Muslims in defense of Freedom/democracy and in order to defeat Barbarism/Islam.
It seems we’re headed there anyways in the West…just look at the riots in the UK today…Europe is heading towards civil war against Muslims, migrants and far-Leftists who support them, vs the majority who didn’t ask for any of it and their gov’t refuses to deal with this massive problem…so it’s only going to get worse.

Never in human history has so much deference by so many been extended to a religion for all its many wrongs—and all the while the religion that is the recipient of this “courtesy” is easily arguably the most malevolently influential religion ever.
No wicked ideology has ever gotten so much traction as Islam has over such a long period of time. Islam for me represents “the perfect storm” of evil ideologies. It hides behind its religious veil very skillfully all the while it proffers huge chunks of errors and hate as something enlightened. Yep, nothing like it in the history of mankind. And, sadly, there is no end in sight to this pernicious nonsense which is Islam, due to both continued willful ignorance of it and outright deception of what it intends for all of humanity.
This unnecessary and lethal tragedy in Nigeria, as referenced here at JW, only serves as one more of thousands of examples just since 9/11, let alone going the whole way back to the 7th century AD, of all the death, destruction and misery Islam has inflicted upon mankind since its inception. And if Islam is the true faith (bet my life on it that it isn’t), then we live in a very creepy universe and God is a jerk.
So, you see, Islam, whether true or not, is to be objected to completely. If true, then time to play Prometheus to Zeus. If not true, then still of course complete opposition. Utterly and without reservation.
Whatever possible good Islam occasionally stumbled into (e.g., preserving some of the heritage of ancient Greece) is as nothing compared to its immense wrongs through the centuries. This has been my starting point for decades now and nothing has transpired which has dissuaded me from this position about Mo’s terribly warped creed. Nothing. And may I extend my sympathies to the families of the Nigerians slaughtered by Muslims in the name of a belief system which is rotten to its core.
Ray Jarman says
Excellent points as usual Wellington. Just one point about the Muslims and Greece is that thousands of Greek people were killed by the inbreds during the occupation and not until 1832 did they throw off the Ottoman yoke and much of the Greek heritage had been destroyed.
Rick Smith says
Seconded.

This reads just the same as a report earlier….bomb in a tea shop. Is it a second bombing in a tea shop, or is this the same one?
and other reports have said more than fifty thousand have been murdered in recent years. How can any count be accurate?
If a bomb exploded in my neighborhood, unless every body was found and identified, it would be impossible to say how many were killed….because at any given time of the day, in any week, homeless people are walking the streets near my residence. Imagine a nation like nigeria where so much of it is rural living and the government is corrupt. It must make counting people under ordinary circumstances difficult; add in the violence constantly coming from mozlums and it would seem impossible to make an accurate count.
The world is silent because the “world hates” Christians and they are the main victims of this murderous scheme to force islam onto the population.
Palestinian Red Crescent Society says
No, the world is not silent because the “world hates” Christians.
It’s a big world, populated by those of vastly different cultures, wealth (or lack of), politics, and of numerous other religions who have their own issues to contend with.
How should poverty stricken Pakistani Hindus–under constant threats from Muslims themselves– respond to the situation in Nigeria?
OLD GUY says
Just another murdering day for MUSLIMS in the name of islam. Islam doesn’t do a vary good job of helping people, but they are great at KILLING them.
Deus Vult says
Here in the UK anything that paints muslims in a bad light doesn’t get media coverage and anybody that tries to make it known is called an islamophobe and a racist. Some years ago patriotic parties had to spend years fighting tooth and nail to out the Rotherham sexual abuse outrage 1,400 young white girls all abused by muslim men and that was just the start.

Just sickening–Jihad against coffee drinkers. But what else would one expect of Islam?
