Reports aren’t clear, so it is possible that this “lonewolf gunman” is not an Islamic jihadist, but that is unlikely. Nor is it likely that he is really in any genuine sense a “lone wolf”; rather, he is almost certainly a warrior of the global jihad. The “gunmen” who are plaguing France these days are Islamic jihadists. Yet the Express and other mainstream media outlets don’t identify him in any way — consistent with their general tendency to downplay and deny the reality of Islamic jihad. This report would be tantamount to reporting on December 8, 1941 that some men in planes bombed Pearl Harbor, without ever mentioning that they were Japanese and part of the Japanese Imperial military.
“Police ‘arrest lonewolf gunman’ in Paris after reports of shots fired,” by Tom Batchelor, Express, April 7, 2016 (thanks to Pamela Geller):
PARIS was plunged into fresh chaos today after reports of shots being fired by a gunman in the centre of the city.
Police have cordoned off streets in the French capital amid fears of a repeat of the Paris massacre last November which left 130 dead.
The shots were reportedly fired near the corner of Rue Bichat and Rue du Faubourg-du-Temple, which borders the 10th and 11th arrondissements.
According to reports, police have idenitifed the suspect as a lone gunman.
Bystander Nicolas Bozino wrote on Twitter that the public should avoid the Goncourt and Canal St Martin districts.
He said: “Shots fired…district is cordoned off “
Firefighters and armed police were deployed, with the number of casualties – if any – unconfirmed.
French journalist Guillaume Serries tweeted that there were no injuries and police had detained the man, who was now in custody….
