Jakob Augstein wants pro-terror Muslims. And he shall have them.
“Newspaper Editor: Muslims Who Went on Anti-Terrorism March Are ‘Uncle Toms,’” by Chris Tomlinson, Breitbart, June 21, 2017:
German newspaper editor Jakob Augstein, who has been identified as an anti-Semite by some groups in the past, wrote that Muslims in Germany who attended an anti-terror protest in Cologne are “Uncle Toms”.
Mr. Augstein wrote that the Muslims in Germany were being “told” by the German government to demonstrate against Islamic State terrorism. Those who showed up to the failed Cologne anti-terror march over the weekend were doing the bidding of their “German overseers”, he wrote in a column for Der Spiegel.
10,000 demonstrators were hoped for over the weekend in the Cologne anti-terror march, but fewer than 2,000 turned up. To Augstein, the son of the founder of Der Spiegel Rudolf Augstein, those who attended were “Uncle Tom Turks”.
Augstein described an “Uncle Tom Turk” as: “One who always does what is expected of him. It used to be: Ali, clean the toilet. Aische, wipe the ass of Grandpa. Today it is said: Ali and Aische, attend the anti-terrorist demo. And if not, then we are very, very disappointed.”
Siding with the German Muslim organisation DITIB, who were suspected of spying on Turks in Germany on behalf of the Turkish government, Augstein said anti-terror demonstrations “stigmatise” Muslims.
He claimed even if Muslims turned up for anti-terror demonstrations, ethnic Germans would not accept them. Augstein claims that terrorism is purely political and social, with no religious element at all.
“Just because terrorists justify their crimes with Islam, there is still no special obligation for people of Muslim faith to distance themselves from these crimes,” he wrote adding: “If I were a Muslim, I would refuse such requests.”
Mr. Augstein is the editor of the left-wing paper Der Freitag and has a history of making controversial comments, particularly against Jews and Israel. He was slammed by the Simon Wiesenthal Centre in 2012 for various comments including comparing ultra-orthodox Jews to Islamic Jihadists.
A year later, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) said that Augstein’s claim that Israel directs U.S. foreign policy, “crosses the border with anti-Semitic conspiracy theories”.
Die Welt journalist Henryk M. Broder has called Augstein a “little Streicher” referring to infamous Nazi anti-Semite Julius Streicher who published the most virulent anti-Jewish propaganda during the Nazi period….

An Uncle Tom – Going along with the status given by the white slavers. Read the novel, “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”, or, watch the movie version.
carpediadem says
It’s from the Harriet Stowe book Uncle Tom’s Cabin. To call a black person an Uncle tom is to say that they are a symbolic white. To call Muslims Uncle Toms is an extension of this, thereby calling them whitey wannabes and implying they identify with the controlling white/nonMuslim society rather than retaining their own Muslim identity by necessarily being anti nonMuslim German.
In other words they are being jeered at for being assertive humans making their own decisions.
carpediadem says
Not that I subscribe to racial battle imposed on the Muslim vs nonMuslim battle, I’m just trying to make this reasonably straightforward.
Adrian says
In the original novel, Uncle Tom was a more sympathetic and even admirable character who helped Negroes….
Since then, it has been appropriated to mean a spineless and submissive person who is a traitor to his own people…
Just one more instance of what happens when u repeat a lie often enough.
Richie says
People who use ‘uncle tom’ as a slur clearly never read Uncle Tom’s Cabin. He was the hero of the story. In Harriet Beecher Stowe’s 1852 abolitionist novel, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Uncle Tom is a martyr, not a sell-out. His devotion to his fellow slaves was such that he sacrificed a chance for freedom and, in the end, his life to help them.
This is just a tactic of the left- anyone who disagrees with them is a racist in their eyes, despite the fact the left are the biggest racists of all

The comparison between Haredim and Jihadis is apt. Their attitudes toward the rest of us are similarly hostile and their methodologies are not always dissimilar. Of all the religious groups outside Islam, Haredim are the only one who attack Christians physically in the basis of religion and burn and deface churches and other religious properties.
Decrying religious extremism does not make one an ‘antisemite’, and that word antecedent to the invention of ‘islamophobe’ also functions to shut down conversation and blacklist dissenters.
I don’t defend collaboration with Islamists but having one’s eyes open to Jewish religious extremism does not make you a fool.
Ivan M. Rittenberg says
Haredim are a problem for Israel and other Jews because of their extremism. They refuse to accept the legitimacy of Israel, they refuse serve in the IDF and will attack IDF soldiers and police. They are a very small community shunned and disliked by Israelis of all backgrounds.
Jack Dawkins says
Haredim are the real Jews. Zionism is a heresy.
Jack Dawkins says
Not a small community. About 25% and growing growing growing
Jack Dawkins says
25% of all Israeli Jews and growing very rapidly.

Want to bet? Simply NOT TRUE. HAVE YOU BEEN THERE? They do serve in the military. I thought that too, but it’s untrue. And they are small and I don’t agree with them but they are sick of being threatened and killed…but No extremism should be tolerated especially after what we see in islam! Yuck!

One nut-job Charedi did this. They do not promulgate wholesale murder and destruction,, nor seek to convert the World to Judaism.

Claiming that the word “antisemite” is an “antecedent” to the word “islamophobe” is not only UTTERLY ridiculous IMO, but dangerous as well.
– Anti-semitism was – and still is – a VERY real (historic) sentiment, that led to unspeakable atrocities against Jews.
– Islamophobia has NEVER been real. Not as a sentiment, not as a word. It is a purely fabricated term which was invented for the PURPOSE of “shutting down conversation” ONLY.
– So, even if you could indeed argue that both words are being USED to stop honest discussion about “religious extremism” – this “fact” alone does not lend equal status to these two words. Not by a long shot.

Just another fabulously wealthy Euro elitist that is able to insulate himself from all of his prescriptions for the rest of his fellow unwashed and ignorant citizens. He probably has 24/7 privately paid armed security too. He will never suffer any loss or harm at the hands of the Islamic invaders.

OK, Jakob Augstein, he actually owns “Der Spiegel”, inherited from Rudolf Augstein – supposedly his father. ‘Supposedly’ means that his dad’s wife had a long term affair with one of the key figures in “Der Spiegel” and this guy is the real dad, Jakob has been ‘adopted’ – keeping up the appearances…
Der Spiegel, weekly political news, under Rudolf internationally respected and **feared**. Now, under Jakob’s stewardship, practically wrecked and a left wing rag, with occasional centrist type articles and some fig-leaf (extremely) mild criticism of left wingers or left policies. Common joke question, bid old by now: “Who is leaving faster, long term highly competent and priced journalists or readers?”
Jakob Augstein is fully School of Frankfurt or 68er as the Germans call them. He concentrates on his own left wing rag “Der Freitag” (The Friday), not very successfully though – thank goodness. I’ve seen some yutube clips, the guy is the prototype of the spoiled brat, and unsuffarable.

Just looking at the photo tells a person how arrogant he is, how self-important.
Now, if the population he seems to want comes to pass, his wife and daughter can expect some scummy, hairy moslums to come climbing into their bedrooms to tell them they are not covered up enough and *teach* them what happens to women who don’t abide by the unholy rules of the evil beast of islum.
And if by chance, he has no wife or daughter, he can offer his neck to the moslums he admires.
Stan Lee says
Augstein obviously gets his operating orders from the Merkel government, which in turn is obedient to the E.U., which openly concurs with the UN, much of its votes coming from Muslim states, ergo the high rate of Jew-hatred expressed. The day must come when true democracies must leave the UN, as its functions have become weighted with Muslim state vote domination. Ergo, the UN is no longer the body it was intended to be, and should be terminated. A U.S.A. hold-back of financial support to this UN would be a positive step, and other decent governments may follow that lead.
A new organization has become necessary.

If the imams of the world got together on this they could stop terrorism with their words. But they are afraid.
LB says
Are you retarded? The imams are not afraid! They are the very source of all hatred towards anything infidel (people and their culture)! And their hatred comes from delving too deep into the canon islamic literature: quran and the hadith. Which is why the more religious/devout/zealous they are, the more their interpretations of islam coincides with ISIS (the so-called “perversion of islam”); and you cannot be an imam if you are not zealous about islam.
The imams then spread their hate in mosques to their muslim congregation, who then go on to spread it to their family, forming a vicious cycle of generational hatred towards the Western world. The terrorist attacks you see today are a direct result of that — every muslim terrorist went to a mosque somewhere; they were not “mentally ill” nor “radicalized on the internet”, despite what the media claims.
Don’t believe me? Watch any imam’s sermon on youtube that is not broadcasted in the media. Or see for yourself — don a niqab (black full-body tent), go into any, literally any, mosque and listen to what the imam and all muslims around you are saying when they think that there are no non-muslims among them to hear it.

If they really wanted to be an ‘uncle Tom,’ they would be marching for terrorism and more migration from jihad breeding nations. At least, then they would win the approval of leaders like Theresa May, Angela Merkel, the mayors in the UK, and types like that who claim people need to ‘adjust’ and ‘get used to it,’ and even worse things.

Jakob would be a gleeful nazi if we would write the year 1933. His anti-Jew hatred is well known in circles with common sense. He’s a spoiled brat who never built anything. Just got the position because his father, who is probably rotating in his grave, was involved.
Richard says
Simon Wiesenthal Center “Jakob Augstein is not a salon anti-Semite, he’s a pure anti-Semite … an offender by conviction who only missed the opportunity to make his career with the Gestapo because he was born after the war. He certainly would have had what it takes.”
terrorism.
Makes sense. Remember Hitler and the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the “Final solution” of the Jews?
Makes sense that he would ally himself with Islamic terrorists and condemn Muslims against violence
