The Iranian people are chanting, “Reza Shah, Bless Your Soul”
Seems Iranians want to return to the way things were before the Islamic Revolution, Obama… you putz! #IranianProtests pic.twitter.com/q0ty0isUcL

Reza Shah was the Shah of Iran from 1925 to 1941 and the father of Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, the Shah who was overthrown in the Islamic Revolution in 1979. Reza Shah admired Turkey’s Ataturk and set Iran on a similar path of Westernization and secularization. In chanting this, the protesters are emphasizing that they do not want an Islamic Republic.
J. Bissonnette says
I hope this is all true but I’m a bit skeptical. What can I say.
But like I said to somebody, if Iran really wants to be “more free”, isn’t it ironic that Europe, USA and Canada are becoming like these countries…..

Thanks to ignorant politicians that live in lala land.
J. Bissonnette says
No sh….. politicians like Jhiadi True-Do.

Forty years late, aren’t they?
They also line the streets to shout “Death to America.” Then the media dig up some “cultural scholar” to tell us that they’re just being expressive, in their culture “Death to America” doesn’t actually really mean, like, killing anyone. Tell that to the people who died in our embassy in 1979.
Richard says
Yes, I recall during the Iran Hostage Crisis some renowned Islamic scholar saying they were picking a fight with America because they love us and it is their tradition to do these things so they can make up and love one another more! You may remember they said this on the television news! Compare that to later in the Hostage Crisis when someone asked then Russian Ambassador, Adrea Gromyko, what Russia would do if the hostages were Russian. He calmly glanced at his wristwatch and responded, “In exactly fifteen minutes, Tehran would cease to exist.”
Thomas Kimball says
I remember the idiots marching through the streets of Tehran eating glass and beating themselves with chains ,what a freak show. How in the hell can anyone follow this religion?
gravenimage says
Of course, that means the good ol’ Soviets would have had no trouble killing their own people. This should not surprise.
Walter Sieruk says
First, it’s naive to the degree of delusion and folly to think or feel that the tyranny in power in this “mullah regime” would keep their word in any “agreement deal” they made with the USA and other Westerns nations. Those disingenuous and outright lying mullahs and ayatollahs as well as other Muslim liars in power in Iran can’t be trusted at all, in any way.
Second, those mullahs and ayatollahs in Iran with their falsehoods and deceptions of the many false doctrines of Islam in which they brainwash the Iranian people in believing is something that is both sad and tragic. Those ayatollahs and mullahs are, no doubt, just as deluded as the people who they thoroughly indoctrinate with false teachings of Islam. Of such demonic deception by false teachers who are also deluded such men a have been predicted in the Bible. For in the Bible it’s written that “Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse deceiving and being deceived.” Second Timothy 3:13. [K.J.V.] All those mullahs and ayatollahs are, according to the doctrines of the Bible, Isaiah 8:20. false religious teachers .Meaning false teachers who teach and indoctrinate the false doctrines of the false religion of Islam into the hearts and minds of others . Such false teachers are described in the Bible ,in Second Peter 2:1. “There were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privately shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”
Therefore, to reply to the many different claims made by the imams and mullahs as well as the other apologists for Islam there is the Christian internet site. It’s http://www.answering-islam.org
In addition, it should be make clear that in the context and meaning of the above Bible verse Second Peter 2:1. The word “destruction” does not mean “loss of being but loss of well-being ,as the destruction of well- being . That is “going to ruin” by ending up and a terrible place of awful suffering which the Bible call hell, Luke 16:19-31.

Good thoughts, good words, good deeds: Rediscover all that is good, true, sacred and beautiful through Zarathustra, Gautam Budh, Guru Gobind Singh, Jain Tirathankaras and the entire Vedic pantheon of Deities awaiting to help – you just have to ask them!
Be true to your ancestors. Persian and Vedic Sanskrit are virtually identical. Friendship cannot exist in absence of freedom. Everyone loves the Iranian peoples. We all fervently wish for your freedom from Izlamic shackles.

Prabhudas comments accurately and perceptively.
Whenever I encounter Persian people I comment on their great Persian civilisation and culture. I express appreciation for them as inheritors of a mighty , refined highly evolved society. I express my interest and value placed upon their music, literature, cuisine and beauty which is all pre-Islamic but still survives in their DNA.
Initially they warm to my expressions of interest and appreciation. As I expound further they become confused and discomfited .” B-b-but we are Muslim !”- They weakly protest.
Ray Jarman says
If Jimmy Carter had not pulled American support from the Shah, the internecine that is being seen in the Middle East would not be happening or at least it would be much less. Carter’s holier than thou of a wife called for the Shah to over night provide an American style society with no regards to over fifteen hundred years of Islamic rule on every facet of life in Iran. Things were changing and the protests and the Ayatollah’s rescinding the mandate that all ladies must wear head covering or face imprisonment is a small testament to that period. The Carter administration placed so many unrealistic reform demands on the Persian government that it greatly weakened him and even then many of the states within the country were ruled by tribal leaders with little regard for the government in Tehran and in fact I was told not to venture too far outside of Tehran when I visited there while on leave from Vietnam. I had visited Greece and I just had to visit Persepolis, the City of Cyrus. When Carter forced the Shah to permit the Ayatollah to return from exile in Paris where he and his depraved henchmen reveled in debauchery and at the same time remove support for the Shah, thus forcing him to flee. Soon afterwards, the Americans at the United States Embassy, two of which I worked with in Kabul in 2002, were taken hostage.
I think that about ninety percent of the troubles in the Middle East lay at Carter’s feet and he should feel very ashamed. I think that in his warped mind, he was trying to make amends for the U.S. eradication of a Marxist regime in Iran and placing the Shah at the seat of government. As I said, most of the deaths in that part of the world and even the disasters occurring in Europe and else where can be laid at the peanut farmer’s feet and he will have a lot to answer for in his next life.
Thomas Kimball says
Carter was a disgrace to America only recently out done by obama and his abysmal presidency!
StellaSaidSo says
I agree TK. Clinton and Bush 1 & 2 were major disgraces also, IMO. But the gong for the worst President of all time must certainly go to Obama. It will take years to clean up his mess.
vlparker says
Carter was a total disgrace. Still is.
Carolyne says
I agree with you about Jimmy Carter, Mr. Jarman. He had told the Shah not long before forcing him to leave Iran “Temporarily” that he backed him 1000%. I believe it was during a celebration of an anniversary of Cyrus’ rule, when Iran had a magnificent celebration.
It gets even worse. When the Shah had cancer and wished to leave Panama where Carter had him exiled and have treatment at Sloan Kettering in New York. Carter refused him entrance into the US. It was only through Henry Kissinger that Carter was persuaded and the Shah had to leave immediately after his treatment. I consider this one of the most disgraceful periods in US history.
Jimmy Carter, who has the brain of a peanut, is responsible for the holocaust which is going on in the Middle East today. Thank you, Mr. Carter. Go to hell.
MTMLA says
I tend to agree with you. Jimmy Carter started all. Can’t stand the fake good guy.He sold his grandson to the devil also. The grandson died and JC survived brain cancer.

Sadly those are ones from educated, rich families. One sees them in London – they are very wealthy and Western. However then you have those who invaded Oxford Street in London, on an Al-Quds march where the women walked separate from the men and all wore burkas and niqabs. They’re from the poorer uneducated side. Best to be careful!
utis says
Those out there who believe in prayer, pray for these desperate people. The ayatollah is already marshaling the troops. These people may be put down in a horrible way, like so many before them (most recently, in Turkey).
I am shocked that these people rebelled long before the dhimmi Swedes and Brits. Shame on the West.
Wellington says
Don’t know how all this will end but I do know how I want it to end, i.e., the mullahs overthrown, the monarchy restored, Islam kept to a bare minimum and with full allowance for other faiths to exist, no harm at all for leaving the Islamic faith, a truly representative legislature, and either some kind of alliance with America or, at worst, true neutrality.
Am I wanting a lot? Hell yes, but I want it nonetheless. It would be good for Iran, for America, for the West, for freedom.
Lots of bloodshed would probably have to occur for all this to happen, and chances are good that those desiring an end to the theocratic tyranny that has existed since 1979 will not prevail, but I hope they do. Anything is possible when a people turn on their government. Thus has been the way of things through man’s history.
Jerry Jeff says
It should be obvious 2 freedom loving westerners that these Muslims are brain damaged due 2 inbreeding & evil loving. It’s our responsibility as moral parents & US citizens 2 keep this insanity out of our country. Misery follows Islam wherever it goes. This is not a coincidence. Trump cannot save America by himself. Stand up & be heard.
Westman says
Many Iranians, now in their sixties, were educated in the West by the Shah’s modernization programs. It was the Qom religious studies students who led the overthrow aka “revolution”. The best of Iran’s students were still in the West and had to give up a bright future for a return to the Islamic form of communism.
Citizen: “Oh, honored (Comrade) Rouhani, why is there still no Atomic Bomb?”
Rouhani: “It is the Uranium. It cannot keep up with the revolution!”
Let’s hope Iranians get freedom again.
After killing off half a million men, sending children and old people to die clearing mine fields and other evils, the Mullahs are finally being held to account. Truly the mullahs are whited sepulchers full of rotting corpses.
gravenimage says
This is probably true to some extent, Westman.
But I had some of my very gentle artwork censored by Iranian students in the West in 1979.
I was shocked–like you, I assumed that all Iranians here were glad to be far away from the Mullahs, but it was not the case.

I haven’t heard a whisper in the mainstream media about this. Funny, that.
I don’t think the Mullah’s are going to lose this skirmish. Its one thing to have some Protesters who want to move away from Iran being an Islamic Republic, its another thing entirely to get the majority of the population on board- AND – kill every last one of those corrupt, pustulent men in charge.

Very interesting.
DogOnPorch says
Trouble is: Reza Shah was a huge admirer of Hitler which is why Stalin wanted him gone in 1941. The Shah was his replacement…his son. Supposedly easy to manipulate, the Shah proved to be a staunch friend to the USA rather than the Soviets.
If you can believe it, Iran and Israel were pretty friendly in those days…
DogOnPorch says
Barbarossa was in 1941, of course…
Frank Anderson says
Do I remember from my reading that Persia changed its name to Iran, meaning “land of the Aryans” in response to Nazi inspirations/overtures/suggestions/influence? Was Reza Shah in power when that happened? If so, so much for good news. One group of religious totalitarians could possibly be replaced by another group of non-religious totalitarians: “And the Beat Goes ON!” (Sonny and Cher).
jewdog says
The MSM says it’s just about economics, but Marxism does not explain the abhorrence to Islamic tyranny.
Kepha says
Could the Reza Shah they’re chanting for be the Reza Shah now resident in SoCal, who is the son of Mohammed Reza Pahlavi and the grandson of the original Reza Shah?
