This is getting very serious. It won’t stop with David Horowitz or me. The Left is moving quickly to silence all dissenting voices in the run-up to the 2018 elections. The freedom of speech is the foundation of a free society, and it is rapidly being destroyed in the United States. Not only are Horowitz, and me, and Alex Jones, and Dennis Prager, and Gavin McInnes being silenced — with this credit card action they’re trying to make sure that we cannot make a living, and will be quite literally destroyed, personally as well as professionally. And there will be more victims. This totalitarian action needs to be stopped quickly, or it will destroy all who are not doctrinaire Leftists.
Dear Robert,
We’re under attack by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC)…
For years, the SPLC has labeled the Freedom Center a hate group and tried to get organizations like Amazon, Facebook and Twitter to ban us and silence our message.
Yesterday, SPLC finally convinced MasterCard and Visa to cut us off. Now we can’t process donations from any major credit card companies.
In fact, if you received Robert Spencer’s e-mail last night, you may have noticed your donation was DENIED.
Robert, this blow could be the end of the Freedom Center. Decades of work, down the drain because the hateful Left wants to squash free speech and silence an organization that dares to question them.
As we get more information and meet with our attorneys, I will keep you up-to-date.
In the meantime, please send an emergency donation in the form of a check to our PO Box:
David Horowitz Freedom Center
PO Box 98105
Washington, DC 20090-8105
Whether you can give $35, $50, $100 or more, your generous emergency support today will help keep our programs running while we fight back against the Southern Poverty Law Center and their henchmen on the Left.Robert, we need you now more than ever. Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
David Horowitz

Why don’t you sue the SPLC for slander? What right do they have to slander you as a racist or white supremacist? What right do they have to define the word “hate?” Everyone on their list should sue these guys and put them out of business.
Richard says
Rob : Yours is the best thinking I’ve heard on this so far. And it is so obvious! Anyone ever heard of “defamation of character”? Who is really doing he hating, after all? The SPLC. All Robert Spencer is doing is reporting on hate crimes. Is the SPLC saying all the Germans were right to keep quiet about Nazi atrocities. To have denounced them would have ben a hate crime?

Tell that to Robert here — director@jihadwatch.org And write to him ASAP because every hour brings new attacks in a war against Western culture. Leftist fascism is determined to prevail in our 2018 mid-term elections — and those voting decisions are just 10 weeks from now. Ask your family & friends to spread the truth on how crucial it is for them to resist free speech denial as “hate speech”.

No kidding its getting serious…Very serious and somehow we must be LOUDER but putting it out in a sane reasonable way with no trace of ‘racism’, goats, pedophiles, anti muti-Cultural (which Islam IS) ETC. Some comments here are very sane talking and great statements. We can read Spencers book, but I doubt the ones who need to will. They will not even read the bigoted Qur’an. How can we organize the way CAIR does? In canada there is a group called EMET, I think, who does very well. We need a branch of them here.

Yes, I think a MASSIVE lawsuit against the Southern Poverty Law Center is in order so that ordinary people see just how much they are being deceived. A judge would probably allow SPLC to claim Dr. Spencer is a “public figure”.
Separate definition of just what is slander (or libel) against those.
Separate set of conditions as to behavior in researching, writing, correcting, and general attitude as to what makes that output (written or verbal) actionable.
I saw a post where it was postulated that SPLC’s actions had met the standard of “collusion” in the only area where collusion was a crime. As SPLC is a group taking donations to educate the community as to something they say is important and “shine the light of scrutiny” in areas they want the public to demand actions from public and public officials to rectify, as are Jihad Watch and Freedom center, their actions to encourage a needed business connection against a putative competitor to sever that connection… that meet the legal definitions regarding illegal behaviors as “collusion in restraint of trade”.
While IANAL an actual crime by SPLC et al. seems like a better place to start.
Dr. Spencer please ask your lawyer to confer with a specialist in this area.
Frank Anderson says
J’hn1,yours is excellent advice to consult a highly experienced and knowledgeable lawyer with defamation claims. I courteously add looking for one who has both won and lost cases could help. Please recall that “New York Times ‘public figure’ malice” originated from a 1964 US Supreme Court case that started in the Alabama Supreme Court. SPLC is headquartered in Montgomery Alabama just a few miles, if that far, from the Supreme Court of Alabama, the headquarters of the Alabama State Bar and the Montgomery County courthouse, not to mention the Federal courthouse for the Middle District of Alabama.
The advice of a skilled and experienced attorney, the funds to support the litigation, the time to take away from other activities and conduct litigation, and the will to win no matter what the cost are all issues for decision into whether to sue or just find better ways to fight. Winning is essential.
J'hn1 says
Kind of, but not really.
I expect Dr. Spencer has a decent idea of where to go to ask for slander and defamation advice. As I read the article it seemed like this might better be a “collusion in restraint of trade” case. Not so Co-incidentally the only area where collusion is actually a crime. Somebody that has won a collusion case, or is a collusion law expert, or at least is recognized as a collusion law knowledgeable attorney.
That would be the person to ask if Jihadwatch and Freedom CDenter have a case against SPLC and CC companies.
Frank Anderson says
Thank you for more good advice. This is a legal subject for genuine experts, of which on this subject I am not one.

And the thing about “small hands” is ridiculous, as well.
I am old enough–and well read enough–to remember the origin of this silliness.
Spy Magazine–a sort of slightly more grown up National Lampoon–skewered Donald Trump in the late ’80s and ’90s as a “short-fingered vulgarian”. The idea was that even though he was so wealthy, he was quite tacky at heart.
This had nothing to do with having “small hands”. This is a more recent misreading of this humor–as well as being far more stupid. This lacks whatever slight wit Spy Magazine brought to the original joke.

Westman says
George Orwell never imagined that Big Brother would be a coalition of private business enterprises and banks. He thought it would be real government, not an unelected government of collusion. We should begin calling these entities, Big Brothers, and generate panel mug shots of them, much like at the post office.
It is past time for real government to step in and investigate these Masters Of The Universe for limiting competition. This is America, not some European country with leftover Aristocrats and poorly defined citizen rights. There is no doubt that they have already violated FTC rules and many are bad citizens that park profits offshore to avoid taxes. We should be calling our congress representatives and demanding investigations. This is one situation for which government, under the Constitution, IS the solution.
gravenimage says
I’m not sure we can count on government involvement to make things better–what if the government is under someone like Obama? It could make things much worse.
StellaSaidSo says
So you would rather see monopolies run rampant than have government intervene to protect us from their predations?
gravenimage says
Not at all, Stella–I’m saying that I would not assume that all Western governments would be likely to protect those who dare criticize Islam. In fact, if governments are encouraged to legally intervene, we may be more apt to find that they wind up shutting down businesses that allow the criticism of Islam than to do the opposite. Those are my concerns.
James Lincoln says
Westman,
Companies like Google, etc., need to be broken up like the breakup of the Bell System in 1982. That would be a start.
StellaSaidSo says
So, you disagree with the Sherman Anti-Trust Act? You don’t think Bell or Standard Oil should have been broken up?
It’s not about ‘criticism of Islam’, it’s about unfair market advantage.
StellaSaidSo says
(This to gravenimage)
gravenimage says
Stella, I’m just saying that I’m not sure that if these companies were broken up that this would stop them from trying to shut down Anti-Jihadists like Robert Spencer and David Horowitz. I’m not sure that government intervention is the answer here.
StellaSaidSo says
GI, the whole point of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act was to prevent the sort of abuses we are seeing now. What do you propose? That we allow the situation to continue? ONLY govt has the power to intervene on our behalf. THAT, frankly, is the purpose and the responsibility of govt, and why the laws are already in place to allow such action.
gravenimage says
I’m still rather leery, Stella–government intervention in the West of late has generally *not* been on the side of freedom.
And I think the Anti-Trust Act was more aimed at things like monopoly price setting than this sort of sectarian witch hunt.
Anyway, despite our slight disagreement here, I always respect your point of view.
StellaSaidSo says
I don’t think you quite understand the point here, GI. The Anti-Trust Act was aimed at breaking monopolies. Why should it not be used to break this particular monopoly? What alternative is there? How would breaking this monopoly NOT be ‘on the side of freedom’?
Frank Anderson says
S.S.S., millions of dollars and tens of thousands of hours can be spent on fighting proxies for islam, with the result that they won’t be spent on the real goal. One example in history might be the German strike into Yugoslavia, Albania and Greece to bail out Mussolini’s expedition. That sideshow wasted time and wealth, which put the move into the Soviet Union more than 6 weeks late, preventing the goals of taking Moscow and Leningrad. As long as a perfect alternative exists in the form of a US Post Office money order, RS can get money from us to continue the work of informing people about islam instead of being tied up against unlimited private wealth in a fight of uncertain outcome.
The basic question that should always be asked if there is any alternative to a long, expensive lawsuit is whether it will take money out of my pocket or put it in with enough quantity to pay for the things I could not do while it goes on, and on, and on, and on. Anti trust and RICO suits are limited to Treble Damages and Attorney Fees. What damages can be shown? What attorney fees would be allowed by a judge? I had one case where 2 successful attorneys told the judge at a hearing to set my fees that I should be paid $94,000 for a contingent fee case that took more than 2 years, where the opposing attorneys were paid $40,000 on a non-contingent fee, and I was awarded $9,400. Another case came to my office where the judge refused to follow her language in the previous case regarding fee arrangements, whereupon I refused to take the case. It’s good to be retired.
gravenimage says
Stella, I don’t know that breaking up these companies would help. And I’m not sure how I can make my concerns over government involvement clearer.
StellaSaidSo says
@GI
I get that you’re concerned about ‘government involvement’. None of us wants an excess of govt involvement. I was interested to know precisely why you are so opposed in this case – and what you thought was a viable alternative.
@Frank
Fair points, Frank, and I’m all for a return to cheque books and snail mail if that will solve the problem. But we’re still stuck with a predatory monopoly situation. I think damages can be shown; the impact of censorship on the income of victims is not difficult to demonstrate. I see that President Trump has recently commented on the matter.
I agree 100% Frank – it’s good to be retired!
gravenimage says
Stella, I think the best thing is public opinion and the threat of legal action and the bad publicity that would lead to. In fact, now that they have backed down, it appears that this did indeed work.
StellaSaidSo says
You’re right, Westman. Orwell was remarkably prescient, but did not foresee the advent of giant corporations, and their ultimate taking of control of the levers of power.
I agree that some form of intervention by governments is required in order to limit such predations. Trump understands the globalist threat. Sadly, most other Western ‘leaders’ – whether thru ignorance or inducements – are in lockstep with the globalist agenda. And too many of us ‘useless eaters’ remain oblivious to what is happening right under our noses.
Felix Quigley says
Stellasaidso…Trump is the President of the US, and by Executive Order not only can he but he must. This is how Trump will survive and prosper by taking decisive actions to defend the people in general, and if he acts decisively and speed will help freedom.
Trump must demand freedom of discussion as per the First Amendment or if they do not comply immediately CLOSE THEM DOWN

SHE is the problem!
gravenimage says
Wait–I’m the problem for not wanting to live in either a brutal oppressive Shari’ah state or brutal oppressive Communist state? Why?
Previously, Felix Quigley said I was a “Fascist against Communism” (Never mind that I oppose Fascism as well).
I actually stand up for freedom.
gravenimage says
And I am not hostile to Felix Quigley–just to his ideas about imposing a Trotskyite dictatorship on us.
Felix Quigley says
I disagree with the term used at the top by Robert Spencer of the descriptive word “Left” because this has to be termed the Fascist Left in the sense that Hitler used the term. If this term is continued to be used as does Spencer continually then that stops people seeing what was the real issue with the Nazis, because Hitler was the kind of “socialist” who put the socialists into concentration camps from 1933 onwards. But forget that for the moment.
Indeed the main issue here is the position of Gravenimage who I have contested before.
In this
“Stella, I don’t know that breaking up these companies would help. And I’m not sure how I can make my concerns over government involvement clearer.”
The empty politics of Gravenimage I have noticed before. All that has changed is that the political situation has become so serious that her empty spoutings need to be challenged.
Empty indeed! Gravenimage “does not know” that breaking up these companies would help.
But then as pointing out she gives no alternative. Which means in essence she allows them to carry on destroying political discussion.
Such a bankrupt person!
But look at all the quiet people who are sitting behind her like Wellington, Mortimer etcetera who, truth to tell, form a clique on Jihadwatch
StellaSaidSo says
I hear you loud and clear, Felix Quigley.
I gave up at “Stella, I don’t know how breaking up these companies would help”. I thought, well, you got that right, you DON’T HAVE A CLUE. When she followed up with “I’m not sure how I can make my concerns over government involvement clearer”, I was going to reply “well, you could start by answering my questions, that’s the whole idea of a discussion”. But I’m too damn polite. And I dislike wasting my time.
I agree that clarification of terms is important. ‘Liberal’ is another one that demands greater precision. And you’re spot on about Trump. He CAN intervene, and I’m confident that he will. The First Amendment is sacred.
gravenimage says
Claiming that my politics are “empty” because I don’t want to live in a Communist tyranny is grotesque.
gravenimage says
Stella, I was not ignoring your questions–indeed, I always respect your position.
I just think that public pressure is the best tack to take, rather than government intervention. And, indeed, Mastercard and Visa have backed down.
As I noted, government intervention has not always been on the side of freedom–you can ask Tommy Robinson about that.
And Felix Quigley is all for government intervention–but only if it is to impose an unfree Trotskyite state.
I think we need to be leery about government intervention for these reasons–but there are, of course, times when it might make sense.

No, Michael. By lawful means ONLY.
Anything else means arrogating to yourself the right to ignore the law, just as a dictator does.
There are only two excuses for breaking the law.
1) You do not live in a liberal democracy;
2) You are engaging in non-violent civil disobedience.
Any other law-breaking is petty tyranny and the rejection of democracy, it means you think you are above the consultative process by which law is made. But you are not above others. Remember, if enough people break the law as you suggest, then you’ll eventually get a tyrannical government to match the citizenry. I doubt you really want that.

This is the advice I have given and followed for a long time:
1. Using “intermediaries” to handle payments can be a good idea when there is some reason to doubt the care of the ultimate recipient.
2. That assumes a fact that is obviously not present here-that the intermediary is unbiased and will honestly handle the money.
3. The ULTIMATE intermediary to assure good money (no bounced checks) is sent, received and accounted for is the United States Post Office. Postal Inspectors will handle any complaint of diversion of funds, altering the money order, theft from the mail, mail fraud. . .and it is a pleasure to watch them work.
4. Purchasing a US Post Office Money Order, sending it Certified Mail with Return Receipt proves the money was sent, through the mail and delivered. It also cuts out the crooked intermediaries who are blocking RS and friends from their work. Intermediaries do not work for free. If they don’t want or need the business, go somewhere else where there is real law to back up our rights.
I expect to be sending such a money order in the next week.

Great advice.
CogitoErgoSum says
Frank, this is very good advice. My mother and father, who passed away only a few years ago in their late 80’s, never even once possessed a credit card. I know of only one time in their lives that they ever borrowed money and that was when they bought their first house. They managed quite well using either cold, hard cash or a check or money order.
Now, I do have a few credit cards myself but the ones I use are the kind that give me cash back on my purchases. One card gives me 2% back on everything and another gives me 5% back on different items such as gasoline and groceries at various times during the year. Since I always try to pay off my total balance due each month, my use of a credit card is better for me than using cash or checks.
I’d advise anyone that the best way to improve your own financial situation and to make the credit card companies work for YOU is to do as I do and find a card that pays cash back and then to ALWAYS pay your full balance due at the end of each month. I know it’s difficult for some to do but with a little self-discipline it is possible to get into the habit of only making purchases with your credit that you can afford to pay off when the next statement comes.
gravenimage says
Thanks for the information, Frank.

Dear Mr. Spencer – I heard you speaking with Janet Mefferd just a while ago about this reprehensible situation that has been devised to shut down your video platform and where does it go from there !
I agree with TWC above and hope that there can be some push back. But things are so bizarre here regarding our beloved freedom of speech that seems to be in grave danger of disappearing ! Will try to help as I feel well informed of creeping jihad that seeks to weaken Western civilization thanks to your excellent work.

I can only repeat “The European:” The third stage of the Liberal Fascist consolidation: “outlaw dissident movements and parties, curtail civil rights, put traveling bans on them, throw them into jail, prepare re-education centers for patriots and Islamophobes, internment camps and gulags…” Physical elimination is certainly a possibility along this line and thereby become full-fletched totalitarianism.
Charles says
They realized that they could not quell freedom of speech, so instead they are finding media censorship, and financial institutions as the main method to circumvent the first amendment rights of individuals. We need laws for monopolies like Mastercard and Visa. If they are to maintain their government charters to operate in the US, they must also honor our constitutional rights. SPLC has weaponized the word hate, so that they have become the sole arbiters of our right to express our opinion.
Frank Anderson says
Charles, please consider that laws cost money. The fundamental question of economics is allocating limited resources to unlimited opportunities. Which is more important, tussling with corrupt ???????? or doing the main mission of helping people see the truth? There is a very strong alternative that does not give free publicity and waste time and money on evil.

GI, I love several Jewish tales because I see so much truth in them:
1. Israel is the only country with 6,000,000 Prime Ministers, only 1 of whom is in office at any given time,
2. Get 3 Jews together and get 6 opinions.

Alex Jones predicted it a year ago. But what would he know, eh GI? He’s just ‘an ugly 9/11 truther’, according to you.
gravenimage says
Stella, I have said that I agree with Alex Jones on some matters, and I *certainly* agree that he has the right to exercise his freedom of speech. The way he has been shut down is just shameful.
That being said–and with all respect–I do *not* believe that 9/11 was done by the Americans to make Islam look bad. I believe–for good reason, I think–that this was an act of Islamic Jihad.
Zulu says
If conservatives were to use these tactics against the left, they would riot in the streets and cause total mayhem. Authorities and companies fear resistance and this is why they turn a blind eye to antifa and jihad. If conservatives used these same tactics, companies like MasterCard wouldn’t submit to groups like the SPLC. You can guarantee that mastercard would never deny service to a known jihadist for fear of reprisal against the company and or employees.
Greg says
I think this is gonna come back and bite SPLC on the arse. Maybe credit card companies too.
Georg says
Quite the beachhead in the image.
Confused Christian says
Dear Mr. Robert,
We are behind you supporting you in every way. Please continue your great heroic mission of enlightening and educating about this very serious existential threat all the non-Islamic world faces in every part of the world. You are neither leftist nor a rightist in the politic but exposing the truth regarding the glaring truth of Islamic hate of disbeliever non-Muslims and its stated goals of achieving eventual conquest and domination of the non-Islamic lands by all means. You are indeed a patriot and hero who is simply exposing this threat.
I want suggest you to also have some sort of arrangement to get checks mailed to the physical P.O. box address.
Laurence Jarvik says
You said someone must stop it…I’m afraid you and David have to stop it…I just don’t understand…why don’t you have lawyers immediately demanding a restraining order on Visa, MasterCard and the others who are banning you as a civil rights violation and anything else you can find applies? Does David have a legal team working this issue or not? Maybe he needs a bigger team? Or a better team? I’d say any jury should find in favor of you and David with a good lawyer…you’re fighting CREDIT CARD COMPANIES.
Niemoller says
The weird thing is Jihad Watch is doing nothing more than reporting on hate crimes which is exactly the mission of the splc. the only difference is the splc doesn’t report on Islamic hate crimes. to the splc islamists are allies. also the splc doesn’t want any competition, after all they’re greedy lawyers who want to keep their monopoly on hate crime prosecution in case they venture into the counter-jihad market once they smell enough money to overcome their cowardice of jihad terrorists who would terrorize them

How can we voice our protest and anger at these companies? Shouldn’t a campaign be organised to put pressure on them?
Frank Anderson says
I79, *I suggest* the most meaningful and successful response is to send money (USPS money orders) to Robert Spencer/David Horowitz and others, and take as much money away from those who obstruct their work and our relationship as possible. *I think* for the time being anything else is a sideshow which distracts from the real fight.
gravenimage says
You can write Mastercard if you are a cardholder here:
https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/ask-mastercard-webform.html
And here’s a phone number for Visa.
I think we should indeed contact them. If they get enough people doing so–especially cardholders who are thinking of going elsewhere–the better.
Frank Anderson says
GI, this is from a *friend*. Do you think any of the ayatollahs in iran or assad in Syria give a hoot what we think? Letters and phone calls just say “I don’t like what you are doing but I am still going to pay you money to enslave me some more.” To the maximum degree possible, get away from evil and its collaborators and support people and firms who support this effort. Vote with our money and business. Futile gestures scream lack of conviction and weakness. Remember Neville Chamberlain.
gravenimage says
Frank, I think it is important to let these companies know why you are considering leaving. After all, if someone drops their Mastercard, it might be just because their American Express offered them a better rate.
They probably won’t realize it has anything to do with these policies.
If enough people express their concerns, and these companies realize it can effect their bottom line, I think it *can* make a difference.
We’ve seen companies back down before.
LR says
I agree with GI here…Corporations don’t hire marketing companies, and advertise just because they feel like it…
Frank Anderson says
LR, you have every right to your opinion and possibly a duty under some circumstances to express it, as long as we are in a “free” society. What would have happened in Nazi Germany or occupied countries if anyone expressed an opinion contrary to the “powers that be”. One need only ask Sophie Schol (phonetic spelling) who had her head cut off for spreading anti-Nazi leaflets. Heads may not be rolling now; but names are being taken. Petitions and letters to people serving a campaign that has killed between 1 and 4 human beings every 3 minutes for 1400 years is as futile and pointless a gesture as writing a letter or making a personal protest (Henrietta von Shirac-phonetic spelling again) to Hitler for the brutal treatment of Jews in the Holocaust.
The subject of the US “left” discussing killing 25,000,000 people in Obama supporter Bill Ayres’ home was frequently presented during the 2008 campaign, particularly on Hannity’s Sirius/XM radio show. According to another report, within 24 hours of the Anschluss, the German invasion and takeover of Austria, 70,000 people were arrested. How did they know who to grab? Some of us have made it easy to be found. But only those who are absolutely necessary to be exposed should be exposed while others who are not known should remain concealed to the deadly and killing opposition are making new lists. History has many examples of futile gestures of appeasement and wasted efforts of negotiation. To totalitarians, spineless pleas only invite more aggression by saying “We are too weak to force you to do what we wish; but if we whine and beg and plead, maybe you will be nice and lighten up.” Evil people are not, never were and never will be nice to weak people. We are confronting evil.
StellaSaidSo says
Frank, you make your case most eloquently. We are all being surveilled, 24/7, thru our phones, computers, GPS devices, ‘smart’ appliances, and the ubiquitous cctv. There are spies in our workplaces – eg, in UK recently a woman was fired from her job because she displayed the FOR BRITAIN logo on her personal Facebook page. Speaking of Facebook, and having done some research into the matter, I am now fairly certain that Facebook was invented by the CIA, not by Mark Zuckerberg, who is merely a cutout, (and not a very convincing one). Indeed, lists are being made, dossiers are being compiled. Evil is abroad.
gravenimage says
Thanks, LR.
And Frank, Mastercard and Visa *have* backed down–I think hearing negatively from the public was likely a big part of this.
gravenimage says
Frank, I understand your concerns–but as bad as things are in the West now, I don’t believe they are so far gone that those who criticize credit card companies policy are apt to be beheaded by the state.
Frank Anderson says
GI, Honored Friend, neither did the Germans until it happened. Then it is too late to do anything different.
gravenimage says
This is grimly true, Frank.
But I think there is still time here to speak up for what is right–I don’t think it is time to flee the West yet.
And if enough of us *do* stand up, things may never reach such a tragic point.
Frank Anderson says
GI, how many times must you say “if” before it becomes time to say “when”? Totalitarians calling themselves “socialists” are coming out of the woodwork. I can’t say whether I have recorded dozens of Holocaust survivors because I long ago lost count. Several were recorded speaking more than once at different venues.. The common theme was “We never imagined until it was too late.” Communists did not just kill Jews. Several accounts of Stalin’s death report he was planning his own extermination of Jews in the Soviet Union when he died. Communists killed millions in every country they conquered because they could not tolerate any opposition. Name the country and count the best you can the bodies. In the US it could be as simple a matter as reimposing Obamacare, enabling the Death Panels and cutting off medicine to older Americans who will die in months without the care they receive now.
I remember a while back when Dick Morris talked about his father having surgery that would be denied to him under the Complete Lives System originated by Peter Singer, who taught Ezekiel Emmanuel who was key to Obamacare. Guess who recorded Peter Singer for about 4 hours when he spoke as Scholar in Residence? The high point of his presentation is that humans are less deserving of care than animals, that anyone under the age of 15 or over the age of 55 should be left without “heroic” care because they do not benefit society. Does that sound like the proposal that every 5 to 7 years each of us should stand in front of a panel to explain why we should be allowed to live? “Fabian Socialist” /Totalitarian George Bernard Shaw is recorded on film with sound advocating killing anyone who does not produce as much as one consumes, calling for a “humane, but gentlemanly gas” to be used.
The common feature of totalitarianism is the complete disdain for human life that does not enhance their agenda. Look at the daily outcry for the “separation” of illegal alien invaders from the children, who may or may not be theirs, and compare that with the full enthusiastic support of abortions which permanently separate children from life. This is here and now, not some time in the future; and must be taken as part of the present threat to destroy what free people hold dear.
gravenimage says
This is all true, Frank.
We all have to decide where to make a stand. I still believe we have a chance in the West, *if* we strongly stand up for our values.
I *hope* I would be wise enough to recognize if this becomes a lost cause, as indeed it became in Nazi Germany, and where the only chance is to flee–somewhere. If the US falls, though, there will not be many places left to run.
Of course, I could be wrong–and it may already be too late. But assuming things are hopeless prematurely would also be a tragedy. I don’t think that Robert Spencer has given up yet.
Frank Anderson says
GI the situation is hopeless unless talk turns into action: Action in the form of lawful sharing of information to any who don’t know what islam intends for all of us. Every opportunity should be taken to bring more people into the tent of knowledge and awareness of the immediacy of the danger not just to “our way of life” but of life itself. This is why the Holocaust is such a vital subject for reflection, and why it is an annual event among many Jewish congregations and communities. Jews are just the front of the list. All other infidels are subject to the “convert, submit or die” demand of islam. There will be another tomorrow if we make one. Tomorrow will not happen on its own. Always with greatest friendship and respect.

David Horowitz is Jewish. The Southern Poverty Law Center is even eating their own!
I am not accusing you Patricia Koenig but there are definite Antisemitic trends coming into some of these comments. You may have spoken out of ignorance.
The SPLC you refer to is not Jewish. It is a Fascist outfit.
It seeks to close down discussion on the vital issues we face especially concerning Islam. You are very confused and confusion is very dangerous.
Once again the SPLC is not Jewish in any way and what you say/insinuate is a lie!
Frank Anderson says
F.Q. SPLC comes to Jewish congregations to speak and solicit money accusing all and sundry of being fascist. Karl Marx was a Jew-hating Jew. George Soros and his father collaborated with the Holocaust. With the diversity in the Jewish community there are many loyalties that do not make “sense”.
StellaSaidSo says
Indeed, in these troubled times there are many puzzling loyalties, Frank. (The Pope’s betrayal of Christians, and championing of Islam, springs readily to mind.)
I think that PK and FQ are both right, in that the SPLC was founded by Jews, and its President is Jewish, but it is not a ‘Jewish organisation’ in any official sense. The current conduct of the SPLC, which accuses others of being fascists, is very much that of a ‘fascist outfit’, as FQ notes. SPLC has clearly undergone a massive irony bypass!
Frank Anderson says
S.S.S., I have written before and will probably continue to write:
1. I don’t think anybody, including me, knows what label I am. It was now over 40 years ago that my favorite professor of all three years of law school pronounced me in Torts class, “The outstanding witness of the uniqueness of the individual he had ever seen.” I have worn that as a badge of honor and tried to live up to it at every opportunity. SPLC supports collaboration with anti-Semitic islam. SPLC attacks anyone who speaks or writes the truth about islam. If it walks like a duck. . .
2. Suing SPLC, an Alabama law firm would not cost them a dime, and would line their pockets from contributions as a result of the free publicity and misguided sympathy. Take the recent news regarding the payout to a muslim they accused of being anti-muslim, 3,375,000 dollars. If you check the Alabama State Bar’s Attorneys Insurance Mutual program, I think you will find their maximum policy is 3 million per claim. The remaining 375,000 probably came from a general business liability policy. There was *probably* an offer to settle for the limits of the insurance policies, which under Alabama law makes the insurance company liable for any amount over the policy limits if rejected, and the insurance companies decided to pay to control their loss. SPLC probably paid nothing toward its defense costs or the settlement, but you can be sure money has poured in. In the meantime, if our hosts RS and DH sued, they would have to pay and pay and pay to fight the suit with the hope they would win and collect something. That is an awful lot for any of us to support from the sidelines unless we are both willing and able to help pay the bills for a decade or more of litigation.
Suing SPLC to me is exactly what they want. Do you remember the Uncle Remus story Tar Baby-about the rabbit and briar patch: “Please don’t throw me in that briar patch”? SPLC would love to shut down JW while they line their pockets. Nothing would please them better and impair people I want to see free to do their work.
Please consult a currently licensed and practicing attorney in your jurisdiction for any legal advice.
StellaSaidSo says
Frank, I have not offered an opinion on whether or not Robert or David should sue SPLC, so I’m not sure why your post is directed at me.
Frank Anderson says
S.S.S., I appreciate our civil and thoughtful conversation. May it always be pleasant for both of us. I believe you suggested invoking the Anti Trust Act in your post 8/23/2018 at 9:09 pm. There are two acts, Sherman and Clayton, according to a friend who mastered high level corporate law, served as General Counsel of the state Securities Commission and practiced for decades before losing the ability to practice by a stroke. I wish I could ask him to help me understand and pass along his lifetime of experience; but he is no longer available. There are several people calling for suits. Some are supporters and others are not. As a *supporter* of the Freedom Center, DH and RS, I want to explain why I think, *in my opinion*, that rushing into any lawsuit is dangerous, wasteful, and costly in time that could be used for more productive endeavors. Please accept my sincere apology that you take my note as any criticism directed against you. It is intended as helpful information to all who wish to consider legal action instead of alternatives. Any kind of suit *in my opinion* plays into the hands of SPLC, whether a private action or one taken by the government in the unlikely event “they” get interested.
StellaSaidSo says
Frank, I agree with everything you say regarding the risks and costs of litigation, which is why I have never suggested that anyone ‘rush into a lawsuit’. (It is worth noting, however, that Maajid Nawaz won his suit against SPLC).
I raised the subject of the Anti-Trust laws in the context of a conversation about government intervention in relation to the recent censorship of conservatives by tech giants. My point was that if Standard Oil and Bell could be broken up, why not this particular monopoly?
Frank Anderson says
S.S.S. you ask a fair question. *I think* SPLC is a law firm in a market saturated with many law firms. I predict that questioning the “monopoly” status would fail because there are many other law firms that could do the same thing. *I* doubt a US Attorney, who must obtain permission from the Attorney General and participation from some specialist section of a DOJ still controlled by Democrats would take action to stop one of their favorite foils. It is my understanding that under the “previous administration” many if not most attorneys that were “at will” became Civil Service employees who cannot be removed when a new administration is elected. I deeply regret that Mr. Sessions has disappointed many people and seems dedicated to occupying the office while many duties and investigations seem neglected. Based on his aggressive and successful work as US Attorney in the Southern District of Alabama I hoped for better. If legal action against SPLC it will either be by the State of Alabama or private plaintiffs in all probability.
StellaSaidSo says
I’m sure that President Trump is considering a range of options in relation to the censorship issue, Frank, and no doubt he will consult with the experts – a category which, sadly, no longer includes Jeff Sessions. For someone who was once a brilliant attorney to suddenly become a complete dud demands an explanation. I think someone owns him.
gravenimage says
Good exchange, Stella and Frank.
And I actually do agree with Felix Quigley here.
Sam says
Christians have always been portrayed as a violent type. Their responses are touted as belligerent and bellicose, but the actions of SPLC, Facebook, Twitter and others who deny them audience and service because of their nonstandard logic is similar to those(Christians of the 15th 16th century) . If Leftist are akin to Freethinkers then a problem occurs. Militancy is not the domain of Christians but of humans in total. Christians are not the only aberrant people. The Organizations stated( unstated) above and their patrons are in an identical situation as the ones they are shoving to the margins. The sooner they declare victory the sooner their thought patterns will be historized as parochial and partisan. Christians are not the only ones historically embroiled in forcefulness so to the “Freethinkers.” If, by these actions these companies are compelling opposition to mollify their thinking then they too have serious problems with hostility(violence)aggressiveness-bellicosity.
TassieR says
“This totalitarian action needs to be stopped quickly” – sure, but tell it to Jeff Sessions: it seems that the AG doesn’t think so.
StellaSaidSo says
Jefferson Beauregard (I kid you not) Sessions is taking a nap. Please try not to disturb him.
Felix Quigley says
I do not personally think that Sessions is taking a nap or anything like it. I do believe that he is a very conscious operative of the Fascist side of the American State aiming to bring down Trump and replace him with the repressive Pence (remember that it was Pence who took down Mike Flynn) who was on the libertarian side of politics in America, and who had anticipated the need to defeat extreme Islam and create temporary but strategic alliances with secular type Muslims, very much relatively speaking. The CIA was on an opposite track and that was to assist ISIS and Al Qaida. The differences between pence and Flynn were very deep and the same applies to Pence and Trump.
It would have been better for Trump to sack Sessions the moment that Sessions the liar recused himself. But we are where we are. Sessions needs to go in a new power configuration. I see Trump working more and more with Breitbart, Infowars and Jihadwatch plus others too…a grand fighting alliance.
Trump like Flynn is not tied to any dogma, he is in essence a libertarian, a pragmatist and a rationalist thinker. The ordinary people flocked to Trump because they NEEDED that, those very qualities. They needed to be able to see through the bullshit of Bush when he stood in the ashes of 9.11 and spouted about Islam being a “religion of peace”. And with his rational side he cut right through Jeb Bush, remember he called him “Jeb the sleeper”, America today definitely does not need that kind of politics, wink wink, nudge nudge, it needs reality. That was Trump.
Trump has had difficulty finding allies, to create alliances, because there is a need to end the bullshit and to see things clearly.
But Trump only controls a part of the state. There is a large part of the state which is in the hands of a Fascist enemy. The real Fascists in America come out of a Fascist left, whose roots lie in the anarchism of Bakunin, like wsws.org, and out of the deep oil lobby which (as also in the case of the British) has rooted for the Arabs. These are the Antisemites. These are they who hate Jews and who hate Israel, love the so called “Palestinians”. All these, fascist left and Bush/Obama fascists, cross over on the “Palestinians”. They are the Himmlers and Heydrichs of today.
The Fascist side of American politics also centres on Big Tech. These are the ones in society who fear science and fear rational thinking. They are only interested in their profits as in the case of Microsoft and Apple. So they seek to subvert the great inventions of science to make Israel into another Holocaust centre of the Jews.
So what they are aiming to do is create a Fascist dictatorship.
What will this mean? In the first and preliminary case it means a control of the means of expression.
But the American people have the First Amendment and they have their invaluable Constitution. To save America, to save Israel and to save the world Trump must ACT to defend free expression.
Will Trump fight? Will Trump act? of course he will. He has shown nothing but courage all long this difficult trail. But these are very difficult times. First they take your paypal. Then they come for you in person. As has happened. And a clear political line does not exist even on Jihadwatch, as I have proved.
StellaSaidSo says
An interesting post, Felix Quigley, thankyou for taking the time.
I don’t really believe that Sessions is sleeping, although he always looks like he’s about to nod off.
I agree that he is part of the swamp, but probably not out of choice – someone has some major dirt on him. Pence is also a swamp-rat. The prize for his co-operation is the chance of a stint in the Oval Office. Trump and Pence never look comfortable together, and Pence is certainly not to be trusted.
I think your assessment of Trump, and the nature of his appeal to the American people, is spot on. The most striking things about him are his authenticity, and his great love for his country. After 8 years of the fraud Obama, America was hungry for some honesty, some sincerity, and some loyalty.
Trump is wise to access alternative news sources, and he is far better informed than a lot of people think he is. And 10 steps ahead of most. I hope he will act quickly and decisively on this censorship issue. Indeed, it is ‘time to end the b/s’.

Uh–what? No, computer companies are not trying to “subvert the great inventions of science”. In fact, the computer or phone you are using right now uses science and technology.
And the existence of technology firms in the US is in no way turning Israel “into another Holocaust centre of the Jews”.
Computer and other technology has been developed by both Jews and Gentiles; in Israel, the US, Britain, European nations, Japan, and other places.
Here are some of the greatest inventions by Israelis:

According to another report, within 24 hours of the Anschluss, the German invasion and takeover of Austria, 70,000 people were arrested. How did they know who to grab? ”
I do not know what is the source of that. “25 millions” to be liquidated!
Also I very definitely do not take the political word of Hannity for anything. Francisco Gil White was supporting the Serbs and Jews on a programme back in the 90s and Hannity came in to sabotage Francisco on the issue of 9.11 questions which had been raised by Jared Israel.
But what position had Hannity taken on the Islamic Jihad led by Clinton and Albrite against the Nationalist, Socialist and Christian Serb people? NATO support and support for Islam fascist Izetbegovic I think.
Second point re Austria…they knew who to grab because in large measure the local population, which was totally Jew Hating, thanks very much to the Catholic Church in that case, fingered the Jews and joined in the murdering of the Jews. Not so difficult to understand if you have read anything at all.
And in Russia the Nazis went for Communists, as well as the Jews. Read Mein Kamph and you will see that while Jew Hatred was central, also central was the hatred and fear of Hitler for Marxism, and for the Russian Revolution of 1917.
Historically speaking this is not rocket science.
Frank Anderson says
A US government informant was in the meeting, heard the discussion and spoke on Hannity’s radio program which I heard on Sirius/XM while driving a long-haul chemical tanker during the 2008 campaign.

I believe that we have every right to question people like White who claim that the Americans slaughtered their own people on 9/11, and that this has nothing to do with Muslims. Jihad terrorism *is* a real thing, and we have every right to be concerned over it.

I cannot talk about who founded this Fascist type group. In any case it may not always have been Fascist. But it has become Fascist in the present situation.
Another group which has become Fascist, Fascist/Left in that case, is the wsws.org which claims the name of Trotskyism. But is the opposite. This is the first lesson. People today can give themselves any name or image. But it is necessary to go deeper.
The fact of the matter is that the SPLC today is working feverishly to close down open political discussion.
Moreover they are backers of the Nazi rooted “Palestinian” Arabs. The founder of the PLO was of course the Nazi Hajj Amin el Husseini, who was a real Fascist, in the Holocaust, not at all like Morris Dees who I have just read a little about, and seems to have been a simple money grabber and as a founder of the SPLC not a Jew..
The point is that no Jew worth his or her salt will do other than oppose totally the SPLC. Those connected with it today are betraying the Jewish tradition of open speech and debate, and thirst for knowledge. It should not be too hard to expose them as being against the noble Jewish tradition.
By the way the slur by “Frank Anderson” that Karl Marx was Antisemitic is in turn Antisemitic. Karl Marx was among the greatest of humans on this earth and he defended the Jews. Do not push me…I have the sources from here to eternity on this one! It is just a cheap shot and a diversion.
Finally why does the SPLC recruit Jews. The SPLC should be kicked into hell and back by every American Jew who knows and understands history.
So in the end all we are talking about is LEADERSHIP, who is leading the Jews, the same thing as the English, the Irish, the Scotch and anybody else. Nothing more.
To associate the SPLC with Jews is pure Antisemitism.
StellaSaidSo says
If Jews are associated with SPLC, surely it is not ‘anti-Semitic’ to associate SPLC with Jews? Joseph Levin (founder) is Jewish, as is Richard Cohen (President), and Rhonda Brownstein (Director). No doubt there are numerous religions and races represented on the SPLC staff, but it’s not hard to see why people might associate SPLC with Jews. Similarly, if the leadership consisted of Murphy, O’Brian and Callahan, we might be forgiven for thinking it was an Irish organisation.
It is a mystery to me why anyone with historical links to the terrible oppression suffered by Jews under the Nazi regime would want to defend rabid anti-Semites like the ‘Palestinians’. But commitment to a political ideology can kick to the kerb any sense of tribal or family loyalty.

F.Q. I would like to share a story: A friend of mine who recently had a severe stroke and is no longer available to verify his story loved to tell about another friend of his in law school, more than 40 years ago. A subject came up for discussion in class regarding the Orthodox Jewish practice at the lime, and perhaps still, of seating women apart from men in services. Let’s call for the sake of conversation my friend’s friend Aaron. Aaron knew many things about Judaism the rest of the class did not. For months after the discussion, Aaron’s passionate attack on practices that he disagreed with were treated by other students to be from an anti-Semite. Not only did they ostracize Aaron, they also avoided my friend “T”, until finally, after months, one of the leaders of the banishment said something to “T” who has been the nemesis of bullies all his life. “T” told the misguided critic that Aaron was Jewish and knew every detail that he argued in class. The banishment stopped.
Even though I attended Jewish services and events starting about 25 years ago; and have attended hundreds since and recorded hundreds, including scholars, rabbis and Holocaust survivors, I am not considered Jewish by the local community because I speak the truth about islam. I have attended a presentation by SPLC at a Jewish Temple, by a speaker with a name usually associated with Judaism.
It is commonly known and published in the Jewish community that 75 percent of Jews in the US vote for Democrats who want to open borders, flood the country with muslims and generally do not care what happens to Israel. There is no effort to understand islam as the 1400 year promise of death to Jews, or to reconcile that fundamental part of islam with any loyalty or concern with Israel.
In more than 50 years of being “politically aware” you are the only person I have ever encountered with your glowing praise of Karl Marx. Every Jew I have ever talked with over 23 years, including history professors and rabbis have a different view.

……………………….
Uh…right. What could *possibly* be antisemitic about quotes like these:
“What is the worldly religion of the Jew? Huckstering. What is his worldly God? Money.…. Money is the jealous god of Israel, in face of which no other god may exist. Money degrades all the gods of man – and turns them into commodities…. The bill of exchange is the real god of the Jew. His god is only an illusory bill of exchange…. The chimerical nationality of the Jew is the nationality of the merchant, of the man of money in general.”
This was from his 1844 essay, ” On the Jewish Question”.
https://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1844/jewish-question/
And this was not the only time he said such things–in 1856 in “The Russian Loan”, he said, “Thus we find every tyrant backed by a Jew”.
Claiming this is not antisemitic is grotesque.

GI, a direct quote from Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg, page 75: (paperback, Broadway Books 2009)
“Yes, the Nazis were anti-Semites of the first order, but anti-Semitism is by no means a right-wing phenomenon. It is also widely recognized, for example, that Stalin was an anti-Semite and that the Soviet Union was, in effect, officially anti-Semitic (though far less genocidal that Nazi Germany-when it came to the Jews). Karl Marx himself-despite his Jewish heritage-was a committed Jew hater, railing in his letters against ‘dirty Jews’ and denouncing his enemies with phrases like ‘niggerlike Jew’ “.

Agreed, Frank. Thank you for that quote.
I actually worked with Jews–the “Refuseniks”–who had been persecuted in the Soviet Union in the 1970s and ’80s.

One of my “mothers by choice”, who is no longer living, was Jewish. By many stretches of definitions that could make me Jewish. I will try hard to never say, write or do anything that would disappoint or dishonor her. She dearly loved the truth being told.

People need to contact MasterCard and Visa demanding they reverse this action immediately. Then they need to contact the FTC and the Department of Justice demanding an investigation into the actions of the SPLC, MasterCard and Visa activities regarding this matter, bring any charges available against them and issue fines to these organizations in the billions.
UNCLE VLADDI says
IT MIGHT BE LONG PAST TIME FOR ALL OF YOU GUYS TO BAND TOGETHER IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THE DESPICABLE SPLC.
ESPECIALLY SINCE NOW YOU CAN CLAIM AND SHOW REAL DAMAGES HAVE OCCURRED, AND SO GET AN IMMEDIATE INJUNCTION ORDERING THEM TO CEASE AND DESIST, IN WHICH YOU COULD THEN ASK THE JUDGE TO ALSO PASS ALONG TO GOOGLE, VISA, MASTERCARD, etc etc TOO!
NO?

Attacks on marx is an expression of ignorance…they have not read the thing!
I must point out to the casual reader I did not start the discussion on Karl Marx. Marx was attacked and I responded. The attack came out of nowhere.
I have to respond because it is a lie that Marx was an Antisemite. So I can do no other than to ask you to follow the url by Gravenimage. It is most useful and apt…”This was from his 1844 essay, ” On the Jewish Question”. ”

The Jewish Question if you do read it, it is a defence of the rights of the Jews against Bruno Bauer and leading antisemites on the liberal left of the time.
Most people like these here spouting away like robots have not read the essay. Parts are quite difficult. Marx can be both very easy to understand and sometimes hard but it is totally certain, 120 per cent, that these people here acting as if they know something know nothing and are totally “chancing their arm.”
But it is not up to me to waste time educating them.
The issue of the SPLC and the Jews is quite clear. The SPLC is a Fascist type movement part of the fascist/left.
The Jews are an ancient and very great nation. But their leadership is not at all great in our day and age and leaves the Jewish masses actually without leadership. To test this see the fare that is dished up by The Forward. It is dull, reactionary and leads to defeat.
The Jews today need leadership. That is the issue. I thought that Graven image is a person who in her bot like utterances makes that clear. Inspiring she is not.

Obviously not read it. I was right. They pull a quote. Chancers!

Of course I’ve read it–several times over a period of about forty years, in fact. It is not a long essay.

I do not consider characterizing Judaism as “huckstering” and “money”–this is Marx, *not* Bauer–as a defense against antisemitism.
He goes on further to say, “an organization of society which would abolish the preconditions for huckstering, and therefore the possibility of huckstering, would make the Jew impossible. His religious consciousness would be dissipated like a thin haze in the real, vital air of society.” Then he adds that Judaism is “anti-social” and “In the final analysis, the emancipation of the Jews is the emancipation of mankind from Judaism”.
In other words, no Jews are allowed under Communism.
He also claims that Jews completely dominate Gentiles in North America–which one hears today spouted by Neo-Nazis.
Just because Bauer is an antisemite does not ergo mean that Marx is not.
There is lots more ugliness from Marx in the essay, which anyone can read at the link.

I bet you they are into the essay for the first time but now see a problem as they read. I was right. Marx was indeed defending the Jews!
Frank Anderson says
F.Q., you have every right in a free society to disagree with every other person in that society. In Marxist societies it could get you killed or sent to a slave labor camp. Making your argument to support your contention could be informative. I make my at the moment unique argument that islam is a criminal conspiracy, which fulfills every element of a legally defined criminal conspiracy, instead of a religion entitled to recognition and protection under the Constitution islam and all its followers wish to destroy.
Your favor of Karl Marx in light of the enslavement and murder of hundreds of millions, and domination of billions of people since the 1917 Russian Revolution is hard to understand. The only historical rival I can see is islam, which over 1400 years, about 10 times longer than Marx’s Communism has enslaved and killed a similar number of people.
One of the greatest moments in my life was when I realized that I did not need to take every client who came to my office. I learned to ask several questions before taking a case:
1. Can I work with this person?
2. Is this a case that I am qualified and able to handle?
3. Is this case interesting?
4. Is this case profitable, both for my client and me?
5. Is there any reason or goal to ignore the results of the previous questions?
When I was in law school in the late 1970’s I earned a substantial part of my tuition by handling the video recording of many events. Included in those events were mock negotiating classes. As a result I found, I believe, 6 books on negotiation. I consider Getting to Yes the best among many really good books. All of those books agreed that before getting into a negotiation, there must be a number of elements required to be present before spending time and effort. For example: Trying to negotiate with people who have sworn most solemnly to kill you for 1400 years by a teaching that is “final, complete, perfect and unchangeable” is a total waste of time, resources and lost opportunities.
Your unique appraisal of Karl Marx is as good a demonstration as I can find why freedom should be cherished. You have your reasons to feel the way you do, But hundreds of millions of people are dead and more hundreds of millions are enslaved because of what he started. He and Mo should be quite together in your analysis.
