When is Ahmadullah’s fatwa against “hijacking” Islam by doing violence in its name going to come out? What’s that? He has no plans to issue such a fatwa? Now, why is that?
“Allah did not create man so that he could have fun. The aim of creation was for mankind to be put to the test through hardship and prayer. An Islamic regime must be serious in every field. There are no jokes in Islam. There is no humor in Islam. There is no fun in Islam. There can be no fun and joy in whatever is serious.” — Ayatollah Khomeini
“Bangladeshi cleric issues fatwa on Facebook emoji,” AFP, June 23, 2021 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
A prominent Muslim Bangladeshi cleric with a huge online following has issued a fatwa against people using Facebook’s “haha” emoji to mock people.
Ahmadullah, who uses one name, has more than three million followers on Facebook and YouTube. He regularly appears on television shows to discuss religious issues in the Muslim-majority country.
On Saturday he posted a three-minute video in which he discussed the mocking of people on Facebook and issued a fatwa, an Islamic edict, explaining how it is “totally haram (forbidden)” for Muslims.
“Nowadays we use Facebook’s haha emojis to mock people,” Ahmadullah said in the video, which has since been viewed more than two million times.
“If we react with haha emojis purely out of fun and the same was intended by the person who posted the content, it’s fine.
“But if your reaction was intended to mock or ridicule people who posted or made comments on social media, it’s totally forbidden in Islam,” Ahmadullah added.
“For God’s sake I request you to refrain from this act. Do not react with ‘haha’ to mock someone. If you hurt a Muslim he may respond with bad language that would be unexpected.”
Thousands of followers reacted to his video, most of them positively, although several hundred made fun of it — using the “haha” emoji.
Ahmadullah is among Bangladesh’s new crop of internet-savvy Islamic preachers who have drawn millions of followers online.
Their commentaries on religious and social issues are hugely popular, drawing millions of views per video….

That solves the mystery of why he was never a guest on “The Big Bang Theory”.
All jokes aside, it is very frightening, but totally expected, how dangerously social media can be and is being used. This is a silly example but the ability to spread hate and/or calls to action among millions of people simultaneously is very disturbing. All efforts to prevent that should be welcome

Not an unexpected event for an Islamic shithole country!

Yet is it okay to publish ?? to mock non-Muslims or to react to news of Jewish and Israeli death?
Humor is natural among human beings and even intelligent animals. The suppression of humor among serious Muslims and the far left in the West seem to support claim that these are anti-human movements.

islam is in direct conflict with anything that can bring happiness. When I first heard that music was forbidden for muslims it was something that I just simply couldn’t understand, I thought what the hell could be wrong with listening to a beautiful piece of music, but that was well before I really understood islam.
Ayatollah Khomeini summed it up perfectly when he spoke these words, “There is no humor in islam. There is no fun in islam. There can be no fun or joy in whatever is serious.”
Pious muslims are in total opposition to everything we love or cherish. Truth is a virtue to us, lies are a virtue to them. Love is a virtue to us, hate is a virtue to them, honesty is a virtue to us, deception is a virtue to them, and so on.
I’ve often asked myself, where can such an evil so called religion come from, and I keep getting the same answer, “satan.” It cannot possibly come from anywhere else.

Perhaps John, there is the possibility that Islam is simply the product of a sick mind which attracted more sick minds (like attracts like) and they perverted it more and more until we have the abomination that is Islam.
I can never understand why some people always blame a mythical creature for the evil that is in this world.
john smith says
As you say Keith, maybe islam is simply the product of a sick mind etc. However there is one thing that I am sure we can agree on, wherever islam did come from, was certainly a very very dark place indeed.
Keith O says
Yup, and the darkest places can be the hearts and minds of humans.

“UntuckIt” is a line of shirts that are intended to be worn without tucking the bottom of the shirt into one’s trousers. Maybe there is a lucrative market for men who have the kind of beard shown above by Mr. Ahmadullah. Wealth awaits the entrepreneur who can market a beard pomade called UnscraggleIt.

This Cleric looks like “Haha Emoji” himself. Maybe he is jealous he is not getting some money for it.
