Does Leon Saltiel think that the Muslim World League doesn’t believe in these Qur’an verses and others like them? Or does he think that his friends in the Muslim World League interpret them differently from how jihadis do? Or does he wave away any concern about them by claiming that his own scriptures contain material that is just as bad or worse? That’s about as far as analysis of such things goes in the West today. The possibility that there might be Muslims who believe in such verses and act upon them is never entertained even as a possibility.
“And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will not be accepted from him, and he will be a loser in the hereafter.” (Qur’an 3:85)
“You will find the Jews and the idolaters the most vehement of mankind in hostility to those who believe.” (Qur’an 5:82)
“And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is all for Allah.” (Qur’an 8:39)
“Fight against those do not believe in Allah or the last day, and do not forbid what Allah and his messenger have forbidden, and do not follow the religion of truth, even if they are among the people of the book, until they pay the jizya with willing submission and feel themselves subdued.” (Qur’an 9:29)
“World Jewish Congress, Muslim World League share joint statement before UN Human Rights Council,” World Jewish Congress, October 3, 2021:
GENEVA – The World Jewish Congress and the Muslim World League issued a joint statement today before the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva, pledging an interfaith commitment to promoting and protecting human rights for all.
The unprecedented declaration lays the foundation groundwork for concrete meaningful cooperation on these critical issues and marks the first time such a coordinated statement has been presented by Jewish and Muslim representative groups before a U.N. body.
Leon Saltiel, WJC representative to the U.N. in Geneva, delivered the following joint remarks during the session’s general debate:…
“We come together in the spirit of peace, tolerance and respect for human rights. We believe that all human beings are given the same freedoms and rights by the Creator, are destined to live in liberty, prosperity and equality, free from conflict, oppression or harassment. We share a commitment to promote and protect human rights for all.
“Our two organizations have already commenced a multifaceted cooperation, such as a joint Ramadan celebration we co-organized in April 2021 that featured community and religious leaders from both faiths from all around the world….
“We also reiterate the importance of safeguarding freedom of religion or belief around the globe as well as the right of every individual to practice one’s religion without restrictions of any kind, as a basic human right.
“Humanity is facing many challenges, from poverty to climate change, from conflict and terrorism to displacement and migration. Enabling dialogue among individuals holding different religions or beliefs can help us move toward an international consensus [on] these important issues, remove barriers and foster understanding. Our common humanity commands us to do no less.”

World Jewish Congress and Muslim World League ‘reiterate the importance of safeguarding freedom of religion’
……………..
The fox and the chickens sit down together to discuss the rights of animals…
Don’t those in the World Jewish Congress understand that there is no real freedom of religion in any Muslim land–least of all for Jews, but really for all non-Muslims? And that the reason for this is in Islam itself? Of course not.
In fact, the only thing that I can find that the Muslim World League has said about “freedom of religion” is that no one should be able to criticize any aspect of Islam:
“Muslim World League condemns attempts to abuse followers of religion”
MAKKAH: The Muslim World League (MWL) has condemned attempts to insult and abuse followers of religion. The MWL stated that the principle of freedom of expression must be framed by values based on respect for the feelings of others and that freedom of opinion, when it deviated from those values, offended the moral meaning of freedoms.
Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, secretary-general of the MWL, said the body was aware that the motive for stirring religious sentiment was “on the face of it” nothing more than a provocation for material gain.

This is about shutting down freedom, not supporting it.

This sounds like a lot of gobbledygook that says anything that offends Muslim values offends the moral meaning of freedom.

Exactly, PMK.

Thank you, John, James, and Raja.

Gravenimage,
Absolutely. The Islamic world/ think tank wants to impose its agenda on the non-Islamic world. The agenda to give Islamic war machine a free pass and throttle the rest of the world in the guise of “freedom of religion” Just nauseating.

Yes, Raja–that is what this is all about, and so many of the hopeful Infidels swallow it.

Can we all get something clear …. the sooner we consistently and fervently refer to Islam as a cult and not a religion the sooner people will be able to absorb the seriousness of the plight of our global freedoms and survival. When Islam is called THE RELIGION of Islam no one feels comfortable analyzing and criticizing it because we have been taught through the ages that we must have respect for the different religions.
However, it is a lot easier and more constructive to have been able to see a CULT for what it promotes, and that the word “CULT” encompasses its entire ideology including aims, practices, punishments, beliefs, proselytization methods, treatment of women and children, etc. It was easy to analyze “Branch Davidians”, Warren Jeffs, Heaven’s Gate, etc., and now Islam, as cults and then deal with them. Now Islam can be unmasked for what it is – namely a cult and not a religion so that North Americans can freely discuss its aims and beliefs without being censored and punished. I hope this concept of referring to Islam as a cult gets worldwide acceptance because the alternative for non-Muslims is too dire.

Islam is a religion by all definition–it is an *evil* religion. Not all religions are benignant. And your idea that we are not allowed to criticize religions is mistaken–people criticize Christianity all the time.
Ewanda says
Even Sam Solomon says Islam is an entire “SYSTEM” of which religion is a small part of it. America says Freedom of Religion so that any religion must be respected. However America does not say Freedom of Cult. Therefore if Islam is treated as a cult it opens itself up to legitimate analysis and criticism. Usama Dakdok has referred to Islam as a cult and since he is so knowledgeable, I will from now on deal with Islamic Ideology as a cult…. which deserves no respect in this world. I never said that we are not allowed to criticize religion. We are taught to respect other religions. I can’t hep it if Christianity is thought of by individuals in a bad way. Christianity ended slavery and that concept hasn’t reached Islam yet. I consider GRAVENIMAGE to be very astute and very knowledgeable and I welcome the comments from you because it shows that I didn’t present my idea clearly so it was a miscommunication by me.

I think you have a valid argument!

Why don’t these two organizations, meet in a Middle Eastern country? Or why not in Afghanistan, to share their peaceful message to the Taliban?
