In a “first of a kind” step in the United Arab Emirates, matters of marriage and family life for non-Muslims are being officially recognized.
The new law is groundbreaking, but also telling about how Islam traditionally views disbelievers. This latest move by the UAE shows the world that the Emirates are in effect advancing a challenge to Sharia supremacy and the inferiority of the infidel under Sharia. The next step to promote religious freedom in the the UAE should be to allow marriage between Muslim women and non-Muslim men, which is forbidden in Islam.
The UAE also signed the groundbreaking Abraham Accords in 2020, committing itself to a measure of support for Israel, and described as a “Declaration of Peace, Cooperation, and Constructive Diplomatic and Friendly Relations.”
“UAE President issues Personal Status Law for non-Muslims in Abu Dhabi,” Emirates News Agency, November 7, 2021:
ABU DHABI, 7th November, 2021 (WAM) — In his capacity as the Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued a law to regulate personal status matters for non-Muslims in Abu Dhabi to provide a flexible and advanced judicial mechanism for the determination of personal status disputes for non-Muslims.
The decision, which is the first of its kind in the world, will enhance the Emirate’s position and global competitiveness as one of the most attractive destinations for talent and skills.
The law supports the Emirate’s leadership by issuing the first civil law governing non-Muslim family matters in line with international best practices. It also guarantees the right of non-Muslims to be subject to an internationally acknowledged law that is familiar to them in terms of culture, customs and language, as well as to protect the best interests of children, particularly in the case of parental separation.
Youssef Saeed Al Abri, Under-Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), noted that the new legislation deals with the smallest details regarding non-Muslims’ family life, and reflects Abu Dhabi’s legislative leadership and the global status it has achieved, following the wise vision of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces….

It’s interesting to note that grooming jihad, where non-muslim girls are trafficked by muslim men, while common in the UK and the Indian subcontinent, is unheard of in the Gulf countries, no matter what their other crimes
Like w/ Saudi Arabia, I’m adapting a wait-and-watch stance on the Emirates as well

Infidel–with the greatest respect–there have been many cases of Infidel women raped in Gulf countries, and then persecuted and sometimes imprisoned for “admitting” to unmarried sex if they try to report it. Things tend to be even worse for non-Western women who work as domestic servants–they are often raped by their employers and cannot even leave.
Here is one story:
“UAE: Rape victim arrested for sex outside marriage when she reported, and told she had to marry rapist”
https://www.jihadwatch.org/2014/02/uae-rape-victim-arrested-for-sex-outside-marriage-when-she-reported-and-told-she-had-to-marry-rapist
Infidel says
Yeah, that happens. I was talking about muslim adults enticing non-muslim girls, especially minors, to elope and then pressurizing them to convert to islam. What you are describing is open hostility that one can detect right on, even if one might be to an extent powerless to do anything about it. Whereas what happens in UK and the subcontinent is far more insidious

Actually, a lot of these thugs hang around hotels with Infidel women guests–they pretend to be civilized, then if they get the chance they rape their victims. Not all that different, I’m afraid.
Dhimmi says
The fact that muslim men can marry non-muslim women but muslim women cannot marry non-muslim men creates a demographic advantage. Of course if this rule would be made a law in European countries, the so called human rights organisations would immediately call it a discrimination. But they have no problem in defending a religion and community which functions under this principles. From this it is clear that the so called human rights organisations are oritented on destruction of Western Civilisation and European civilisations, have nothing to do with human rights

Playing devils advocate here, is there a slight chance that the crown prince is trying to drag the UAE into line with the rest of civilisation?
And if so is this just one more baby step that will be amended over time to fall in with the rest of humanity?
After all, if he does too much too soon his head would end up separated from his body for blasphemy.
Infidel says
I know you’re playing devil’s advocate here, but I do note w/ interest the moves that both Saudi Arabia and Emirates have been making in this direction. I also note that these are just individual initiatives from the crown princes of the Emirates and Saudi Arabia, and so it’s important to note how they are received by the population at large. I’m willing to give both these crown princes the benefit of doubt and assume that they are actually genuine in their desire to move their countries past the islamic black hole that they are in. What will be interesting is whether their people will endorse their efforts, or slay them for it
Barbara says
I tis interesting they are willing to put their money, necks, where their mouths are. I hope they are not murdered for going against Islam. The terrorists could murder them and the people would be forced back to the dark ages.
Wellington says
Forced back to the dark ages?
With respect, Barbara, the Islamic world has never gotten out of the dark ages, some “appearances” here and there to the contrary notwithstanding.
tgusa says
They do have somewhat of a 1 million years BC attitude towards women. I will acknowledge that for some reason they are attempting to get out from under that rock. Who knows, perhaps all the talk about the backwardness of islam is slowly paying off. That is a long shot and they would need to crack down on the hostile primitives to advance, so we shall see.
Wellington says
I contend, Infidel, that attempts to civilize Islam is akin to civilizing Marxism or Nazism. Yes, a few measures here and there can appear to be enlightened moves, but the fact remains that when you start our with rot, you are still left with rot in the end. Lipstick on a pig and all that.
Believe me when I say I wish I were wrong, but I see no way that I am wrong. Islam is irredeemable, that’s my bottom line, and some tactical moves here and there to the contrary cannot, will not, change the overall strategic dynamic that Islam is simply not capable of allowing for true freedom of speech, freedom of religion, equality under the law and a true Golden Rule for all. My God, you’d have to gut the Koran like a fish to achieve such wonderful things, let alone the hadiths, sira and all the heinous pronouncements of all the major Islamic schools of theology, Sunni or Shiite.
Islam must go once and for all. No other way.
Infidel says
Oh, I agree w/ you. I’m just assuming here that the 2 #2’s in both these countries know what you and I know, and checking to see if they are successful in selling their plan to their people. If they are, then at the end of the process, neither Saudi Arabia nor Emirates will remain islamic

Yup, Grab a 6 pack, some beers sticks and sit back and wait.
Personally my money is on the old saying. HEADS WILL ROLL!
But then again, maybe I’m just showing an old diggers cynicism!

In the virus’s centuries old history in India the control of the Ullema varied under the rule of different Kings.
Everytime the Ullemas grip on a ruler waned status quo was reinstated as soon as he went away, with a vengeance, usually leading to widespread dhimmi/kafir genocide and a renewed interest in conquest.

UAE crown prince decrees marriage of non-Muslims to be permitted and recognized
……………
I’m afraid I’ll have to see this in action before I can cheer it–may just be more imposition of dhimmitude under Shari’ah…
tgusa says
Could be a head fake given that islam is under a good amount of scrutiny among non muslim thinking people of the world.
OLD GUY says
A nod and a wink. Islam is deceit.
PMK says
Same here. I’ll believe it when I see it. Also, the headline doesn’t comport with what is in the article. Is this law referring to mixed marriages (aren’t Muslim men always allowed to marry non-Muslim women?), or are two non-Muslims allowed to marry and be recognized in the UAE without regard to Sharia law? I don’t see how this poses a challenge to sharia supremacy, unless Muslim women are allowed to marry non-Muslim men.
