Positive news coming out of the UK for a change.
Lapid has already met with UK leader Boris Johnson and “asserted that Israel, having learned the lesson of the ghetto, will defend itself against Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terrorist groups.”
Iran is the main funder of Hamas, Hizballah and the other jihadist groups that are aiming to obliterate Israel. But the threat of Iran is global, since the regime has the long-term goal of establishing a global caliphate in the form of a revived Persian Empire. A nuclear deal would do nothing to stop Iran from obtaining a nuclear bomb, which it is close to doing as it is. It merely fills Iran’s coffers and further enables its ability to achieve its goals.
Lapid also met with French President Emmanuel Macron, and maintained Israel’s position “that sanctions must not be removed from Iran.” Lapid stated that “Iran is merely buying time at the talks in order to continue making progress in its nuclear program.”
“UK and Israel pledge to stop Iran gaining nuclear weapons,” Al Jazeera, November 29, 2021:
The United Kingdom and Israel will “work night and day” in preventing Iran from becoming a nuclear power, the foreign ministers of the two countries wrote in a joint article.
“The clock is ticking, which heightens the need for close cooperation with our partners and friends to thwart Tehran’s ambitions,” the UK’s Liz Truss and her Israeli counterpart Yair Lapid wrote in The Telegraph newspaper on Sunday.
Lapid arrived in London on Sunday for a two-day trip to the UK and France, a day before talks on Iran’s nuclear programme restart in Vienna.
Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said earlier in the day that his country was “very worried” that world powers will remove sanctions on Iran in exchange for insufficient caps on its nuclear programme, as negotiators convene in Vienna on Monday in a last-ditch effort to salvage a nuclear deal.
One of Lapid’s primary goals of visiting the UK and France is to ensure that banking sanctions against Iran remain in place, Israeli Channel 13 reported.
Lapid is expected to meet his British counterpart Truss on Monday to sign a series of agreements, including a 10-year agreement to work closely on areas such as cybersecurity, technology, trade and defence, according to The Telegraph.
The foreign ministers said in the article that Israel will officially become Britain’s “tier one” cyber-partner, in a bid to improve its cyber-defences as countries around the world face increased threats.
Lapid is then scheduled to attend an event hosted by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, where both officials will give speeches.
The foreign minister is slated to travel to France on Monday night, before the meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday afternoon.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Saeed Khatibzadeh, reacted to the joint article by saying it casted doubt on Western intentions heading into the Vienna talks to salvage the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), as the nuclear deal is formally known….

Israel shouldn’t believe a word that comes out of any british politicians’ lying mouth.
They’ve proved themselves no friend to Jews since the first british politician existed.

1. In my opinion, Iran has SOME bombs now, made and tested in North Korea with funding and full cooperation from Iran. Iran’s spending FORTY years and TENS of billions of dollars on a still incomplete quest for nuclear weapons is a sham, a con, a perfect deception, until they have enough to start the war they want.
2. It has been a long time since the UK actually did something to favor Jews. Look at their blocking refugees to Israel after WWII. “Beware of Greeks bearing gifts!” How can the UK be so unconcerned about the invasion and conquest of its own land when it acted so concerned about Jews returning to Israel? It doesn’t wash with me.

Frank Anderson,
To your point, the Western world should assume that Iran already has at least one or two deployable nuclear weapons.
And Israel should assume, “thanks” to the phony “Harris / Biden” administration, that the United States will no longer defend them against an Iranian attack – conventional or nuclear…
Frank Anderson says
James, I speculate there has been a steady flow of enriched uranium from Iran to NK, Then NK takes that from whatever level to bomb grade, either makes the bombs, or just makes the “pits” or nuclear cores, to send back to Iran. It takes ABOUT 5kg if HEU to make a bomb, about the size of a baseball. So, flying even a dozen, or a hundred, baseballs to NK of lower enriched to return 1 or several bomb cores keeps both Iran and NK in business.
Remember the WWII German fiasco with heavy water and Telemark dam. Instead of shipping the water as it was produced, they moved it all at once. allowing that shipment to be sunk and stalling the efforts to make their nuclear bomb. If the Germans had shipped the heavy water as produced, there would have been no “grand target” to be destroyed.
It’s the old magician’s trick of drawing attention to one hand while the other is doing the dirty work. Iran has far more than one or two bombs, and so does NK. The “local” effort in Iran that “fails” so publicly to produce and test a bomb is a sham. IF South Africa can design and TEST a bomb, so can Iran.
The idea that tens of thousands of centrifuges are operating 24/7/365 without producing bombs is delusional. They could not use all that enriched uranium in their nuclear power plant. Frank

An excellent analysis, Frank.
My compliments.

The Israelis have not trusted allies in respect to neutralizing Iran or its proxies, at least not the Brits. A UK government with the Labour at the end of the table is one hundred percent not trustworthy. Johnson shows some interest, though but I wouldn’t put my eggs in his basket, either.

If Israel thinks they can rely on Britain to help stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, well they can forget that one.
There is only one way Iran will be stopped, and that is all out military action. I am not saying that this is the solution, on the other hand I am not saying that it isn’t, but it is the only way.

UK and Israel pledge to ‘work day and night’ to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons
……………….
Israel I am sure of–I *hope* the UK is genuinely committed to this. At least it implies that they might give Israel a free hand here.
