The two books, both by Robert,
— The Critical Qur’an, to be out in May, 2022
— The History of Jihad, from Mohamed to ISIS

Quick question: I get my books on Nook, but even though ‘The Critical Quran’ can be pre-ordered on Barnes & Noble, it’s not available on Nook. What gives? Even if there is a paper shortage, can’t ebook versions of books be available earlier for people who read it that way?
I have ‘History of Jihad’ and ‘Did Muhammad exist’ on my Nook platform. Am in the middle of the latter, yet to get to the former

Infidel, I know that many books are not immediately released on Kindle–there is usually a lag of a few months. Might this be the same with Nook?
And I hope you enjoy reading the “History of Jihad”–although with such a grim subject that it perhaps the wrong way to put it, although it is very well written.

Robert Spencer video: The two best books to learn about Islam
…………
I was lucky enough to pick up the NJ Dawood translation of the Qur’an when I first read that ugly book shortly after 9/11. I did not do a lot of research; I just thought that Penguin Classics probably had a good translation. And even though I knew nothing at the time about the chronological order of the Qur’an or about abrogation it was still a good, clear translation. I expected to find a few ambiguous passages that *might* sound as though the condoned violence–but I was horrified by what I found.
And the more I learned later, the worse it became obvious it was.
I look forward to reading the “Critical Qur’an”. I remember Spencer’s “Blogging the Qur’an” series, and how useful this was.
And if you only get one book on the history of Jihad, there is nothing to compare with Spencer’s book. Authoritative and really chilling.
