Bennett is right. Biden’s handlers’ monomania about getting a deal with Iran is striking. Do they want to see Iran nuke Israel? Given the makeup of Biden’s administration, which is loaded with haters of Israel, the question is not entirely far-fetched.
“PM Bennett’s Remarks at the Start of the Weekly Cabinet Meeting,” Prime Minister’s Office, March 20, 2022:
Following are Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s remarks at the start of the weekly Cabinet meeting today:
…On another issue, we are very concerned about the United States’ intention to give in to Iran’s outrageous demand and remove the IRGC from the list of terrorist organizations, the FTO.
The IRGC are the largest and most murderous terrorist organization in the world. Unlike ISIS, or other organizations, it is backed by a state.
This is not just an Israeli problem. Other countries – allies of the United States in the region – face this organization day in and day out.
In recent years, they have fired missiles at peaceful countries and launched UAVs at Israel and other countries.
Even now, the IRGC terrorist organization is trying to murder certain Israelis and Americans around the world.
Unfortunately, there is still determination to sign the nuclear deal with Iran at almost any cost – including saying that the world’s largest terrorist organization is not a terrorist organization.
This is too high a price.
Even if this unfortunate decision is made, the State of Israel will continue to treat the IRGC as a terrorist organization, and will continue to act against it as we do against terrorist organizations. As usual, our future will be determined by our actions, not words.”

IN MY opinion, I courteously disagree with the headline. The Biden administration will sign any agreement regardless of terms and prospects. They must know and choose to ignore 1400 years of muslim history and practice that such agreements are total lies.

To rewrite a children’s fairy tale, we’re trading a prize cow for beans which, instead of leading to golden peace eggs, will sprout war.
Barring unseen events, Israel will have no choice except war with Iran if this “deal” represents the most “protection” Israel can expect from the West.
The world seems to be returning to the past. Anyone notice that Germany just began raiding the homes of online critics of government and is now now doing surveillance of the AFD; declaring it to be a “suspected threat” to Germany because it opposes excessive immigration. Apparently, industry demands warm-body labor and German government gets diarrhea.
It’s unfortunate that Albert Einstein is not alive to comment on German government.

……………
Absolute insanity–appeasement of a vicious regime that is a threat to us and our closest allies.
Frank Anderson says
GI, consider the implications if instead of appeasement out of ignorance, that it is knowing collaboration with a sworn enemy? Neville Chamberlain AND all who rode with him, are held in low esteem for their knowing “appeasement”. They had every reason to know that “peace in our time” was a lie, and like those who promote the “religion of peace” lie today, convinced ignorant people to accept the delusion instead of taking the action needed. I WAS one of those ignorant people for about 7 years. Robert Spencer ended that lack of information.
“Deliberate ignorance constitutes knowledge of the truth.” Wyle v. R.J.Reynolds, 9th Cir.
Please find and watch 1776. John Adams would be proud that we remember him and seek to learn from his stand.

Frank, I think this is likely a mix of willful and clueless appeasement.
I looked up 1776, and found it here:

I’ve seen a half hour so far. The humor is a bit broad, but it is fun.
The idea that Abigail Adams was only concerned with domestic matters, though, is inaccurate. She was actually both quite politically knowledgeable and staunch in the cause of liberty.
And John Adams himself was generally respected for his honestly even by those who disagreed with him. He was not despised in Congress as posited here–but I do see the narrative arc. I’ll watch some more of it tomorrow. Thanks for suggesting it–I’ve long been a fan of John Adams.

GI, I have gone through life being obnoxious and disliked. I do not suffer abuse silently; and respond as is appropriate for someone who spent 12 years in military school suffering hazing and abuse until I became mean and strong enough to force its end. Law school added to my arsenal of available weapons for the fight. A collection agency is feeling my wrath at the moment for its fraudulent billing practices. The first song in the first act should illustrate why the movie means so much to me. Thank you for taking the time and making the effort. Literary license is at play. Frank

Frank, I do not consider you obnoxious in the least, nor do I consider defense against bullying obnoxious.
Of course I realize that any work like this involves artistic license.
I’ve now seen the first hour of 1776; this gives a good–and quite funny–idea of the frequent fecklessness of the Continental Congress.
Frank Anderson says
GI, “Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy.” Attributed to a Jewish Rabbi. One of the advantages I have, and believe I have had for a long time, is a fair and reasonably honest picture of myself. The summer my adopted mother died (1989), I was auditing a course in theories of personality being taught by my father by choice #3, a PhD in Clinical Psychology. In the process of discussing Sigmund Freud, his observation was included that our trying to understand ourselves is the ultimate form of aggression. At that time, father #3 and I had been working on that challenge for more than 20 years. Now it is well over 50 years, and I am still working on it. I understand that life has required me to be obnoxious at times to some people; but not all the time to all people-just those who for some reason require or deserve it.
I ask you to THINK about what is being told in the movie that applies today. LOOK at the portrayal of bantering and indecision. What would John Adams say about this endless discussion of helplessness because a religion is also a criminal conspiracy?
In my book, you have earned multiple lifetimes of mercy for many reasons. I wish you well. Frank

Frank, I do take this as a lesson for today–it is possible to become bogged down in minutia and to miss the big picture. I *do* try to keep this in mind regularly.
And thank you so much for your kind words. Same to you.

I’ve now seen the first hour and a half of 1776–this last half hour largely about how lonely this work was.
Frank Anderson says
GI, in the words of a lawyer friend who died a few years ago, “I can visualize the concept!” I made the connection of islam and criminal conspiracy somewhere in the order of 2 years ago. ONE person along the way has agreed with my analysis and observation. That one person is appreciated. The rest who refuse to see illustrate the proverb, “There are none so blind as those who refuse to see.” Adams, whatever faults, flaws and shortcomings he may have had, was just as determined to promote independence as I am criminal conspiracy. WE ARE NOT HELPLESS. THE LAW WE HAVE NOW IS ENOUGH IF IT WILL BE ENFORCED.
gravenimage says
Frank, I have said that this is an interesting idea. I don’t know enough about the law to know if this approach ‘has legs’. I’d love to see someone try it, though.
And I very much respect your legal knowledge.
Of course, John Adams was also a lawyer.
OT, but I knew the voice of the actor playing John Adams sounded *very* familiar. William Daniels also supplied the voice of the taling car KITT in Knight Rider. Wry, sometimes mordant, but also smart and caring. Knight Rider was a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine–not great drama, but a lot of fun.
I’ll probably see the rest of 1776 tomorrow.
Frank Anderson says
GI, William Daniels like many others was a gift to our lives making good entertainment and mixing in good lessons.
I spent most of the time in accounting school, almost 2 years, earning really good grades in the modest load of courses, while doing research on my papers. The 2 articles were mentored by lawyers and professors while being written; and reviewed by other lawyers, including one of my law professors who served 2 terms as US Attorney, and by the Executive Director and General Counsel of my home state bar. They were used as the war plan to sue the Mississippi Bar. You can be sure those papers would have never seen the light of day if any of the reviews found error. What remained of my life is on the line with those papers, that research and the years of litigation in many courts that followed. You can also be certain that the enemy I sued would have identified and discredited me immediately upon finding an error or contrary authority. I STILL HAVE MY LAW LICENSES. Not one case has ever been cited contrary to those I presented as authority.
I believe the article When to Keep Silent: An Alternative to Whistleblowing is available on Lexis. The Nuremberg Rule in the Workplace was published in the Journal of Individual Employment Rights, by Professor George Munchus at the University of Alabama Birmingham. You may assume correctly that I have pdf copies available right now. I refer to them often in my writing.

Thanks, Frank. I saw the last part of 1776 today.
I thought the handling of the issue of slavery was especially well done. Ben Franklin was also very well depicted.
And the work of getting delegates to support independence was excellent–and who would think that what is essentially a roll call would be so dramatic?
The character of John Adams as depicted in the film definitely grew on me–a principled man who *does not give up*, despite loneliness, opposition, and set backs.
I can see why you love this film, Frank, and thank you so much for suggesting many times that i see it. Glad I finally did.

Probably Biden’s handlers get financial benefits from the deal with Iran just like the Bidens had with Ukraine and China (and others not mentioned). It is quite common happening in the world.
