A crash at the intersectionality intersection. The inevitable cracks in the Leftist/Islamic alliance are showing here. The alliance is born of a shared taste for authoritarianism and hatred of the West, but there are differences between the two camps, and occasionally they cannot be concealed.
“Western University LGBTQ poster sparks Muslim community backlash,” by Heather Rivers, London Free Press, May 18, 2022:
A Western University social media post supporting the fight against homophobia included an illustration of two women in hijabs about to kiss – sparking a backlash from London’s Muslim community that forced school officials to delete it.
The image, posted on the school’s Instagram account Tuesday to mark the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, was met with a firestorm of criticism from people who were offended by the imagery.
They said the post was “inappropriate” and “disrespectful” because the hijab, an Islamic veil, has religious and spiritual connotations. Wrote one person: “Shame on you Western for such an insulting mockery post to my religion.”
In response, school officials initially appeared to stand behind the poster, noting they understood “how complex and intersectional this topic is” and that the “imagery may be upsetting to some Muslims.” But on Wednesday, a Western official who oversees equity, diversity and inclusion issued a statement noting the image had been removed….
One Muslim community leader, Iman Abd Alfatah Twakkal, said the London Muslim community was drafting a response to the images, which he called “inappropriate.”
“We respect the human rights of everyone as protected under Ontario’s human rights bill,” he said. “While we appreciate that the intent is to promote inclusion the poster is doing the opposite . . . singling a Muslim religious symbol in that setting is inappropriate.”
The poster also sparked a petition demanding the school remove the depiction of the Muslim women. The petition had more than 2,000 signatures as of Wednesday morning.
“It should be made clear that this is not an attack on the LGBT+ community, and the existence of queer Muslims is acknowledged,” the petition reads. “What is portrayed is extremely disrespectful, insensitive and completely imperceptive to the Muslim community at large.”…

muslims in europe will find reasons to be enraged even by creating it, in order to excuse their genocidal nature and crimes…. even when the countries of the west are going to be completely islamized, muslims will create reasons to be enraged against the remaining original people of the country untill there is none left…. just like in muslim countries… when there is no white people left muslims will find reasons to be enraged amongst them, to impose stricter and stricter islamic law… because muslims are muslims and this is where their satanic religion leads them to… rage, anger and all the rest….

And they are *respected* in this because they can, sometimes, occasionally, once-in-awhile, now and then, maybe, perhaps, show how they *really* feel about such things and go beyond ‘rage’ to actual killing those who oppose them and what they demand.
If the ones promoting “inclusion” and homosexuality, and other things of the lettered bunch, were as outspoken to mozlums as they are to the infidels, Christians and others…….but they are fully aware of which group is likely to turn their displeasure at such things into violent actions. so they don’t react in the same way when mozlums are “offended.”

Infidel, I’m pretty disgusted by a lot of the recent LGBTQIA etc etc claptrap, as well–but do you *really* want to see Muslims throwing guys wearing goatees or jeans (which is deemed indicative of homosexuality in parts of Dar-al-Islam) off tall buildings?

Canada: Muslims enraged over International Day Against Homophobia poster depicting hijabbed Muslimas
…………….
When are Muslims *not* enraged?
And the irony is that this poorly-drawn illustration with its people of color, interracial, handicapped, and Hijab-wearing figures was meant to be scrupulously “inclusive”.
Doesn’t matter, though–Muslims *hate* homosexuals (unless they are Muslims abusing little boys or raping males to humiliate them). But consensual same sex relationships? Haram! Have to throw them off the nearest tall building–possibly Western University’s Student Union…

Yeah Islam is such a weird odd set of beliefs with so many contradictions.
I do respect Muslims dedication to what they believe. It is refreshing, but unfortunately horrendous.
I remember being in Cairo in a public bus, where it was not uncommon to see Muslims reciting/reading the Quran, typically under their breath. I immediately thought if I was in Greece or even Hungary, or US and someone was reading the bible out loud they would immediately be thought of as a complete crazy/psychotic person.

…………….
Shema, Hitler had a dedication to what he believed–so did Stalin and Pol Pot. I’m all for seeing people with good and decent beliefs dedicated to them–but with totalitarian thugs I’d much rather they were all lax “hypocrites”.
Many of these pious Muslims have a dedication to throwing people they believe are gay off buildings or stoning them to death.
Dedication to belief is not an unalloyed virtue–this is one case where context does indeed matter.

I wonder what would’ve happened if the poster showed two imams kissing.

What about the pope and his favorite mozlum from Egypt? they could stick that photo in the middle of the poster. See what reaction that would evoke

James Lincoln,
Two imams kissing is already in public domain, except that the other imam a rep of “Christian” community or might be a rep from imam pope was involved in despicable lip to lip kiss. I still feel allergic to that.
But I must admit this dhimmi imam is no imam at all in sight of the world.

………………..
Raja, do you mean that this Imam is regarded as a dhimmi in the eyes of the Muslim world? Actually, he is Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb, Al-Azhar’s Grand Imam. Al-Azhar is the premier seat of Sunni Islamic learning in the world.
He is an orthodox Muslim who hates Jews and believes that apostates must be murdered. He has condemned the idea of allowing any Christians to rebuild their churches in Egypt.
He is widely admired in the Muslim world. Engaging in Taqiyya with the Pope doesn’t change that.

When will the gays understand that Islam is not their friend?
Here’s what Sharia law actually says about punishing homosexuals: flogging, stoning, thrown from high place, wall pushed over to crush, burned to death
Homosexuality is not only a sin, but a crime under Islamic law.
– Islam Question and Answer says: “The crime of homosexuality is one of the greatest of crimes, the worst of sins and the most abhorrent of deeds, and Allaah punished those who did it in a way that He did not punish other nations. It is indicative of violation of the fitrah, total misguidance, weak intellect and lack of religious commitment, and it is a sign of doom and deprivation of the mercy of Allaah.”
– In the Hanafi school of thought, the homosexual is first punished through harsh beating, and if he/she repeats the act, the death penalty is to be applied.
– In the Shafi`i school of thought, the homosexual receives the same punishment as adultery (if he/she is married) or fornication (if not married). This means, that if the homosexual is married, he/she is stoned to death, while if single, he/she is whipped 100 times. Hence, the Shafi`i compares the punishment applied in the case of homosexuality with that of adultery and fornication.
– In the Hanafi school, the two acts are differentiated, because anal sex [something that is prohibited, regardless of orientation] may also be involved, while in adultery [and fornication], the penis/vagina (which are reproductive parts) are involved.
– Some scholars hold the opinion that homosexuals should be thrown from a high building or stoned to death as a punishment for their crime, but other scholars maintain that they should be imprisoned until death occurs through starvation.
-Some of them (Islamic jurists) said that he should be punished in the same way as an adulterer, so he should be stoned if he is married and flogged if he is not married.
-Another view is that between two males, the active partner is to be lashed a hundred times if he is unmarried, and killed if he is married; whereas the passive partner is to be killed regardless of his marital status.
-Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas said: The highest point in the town should be found and the homosexual should be thrown head first from it, then stones should be thrown at him.
Ibn ‘Abbaas derived this hadd punishment from the punishment that Allaah sent upon the homosexuals of the people of Loot.
– It is narrated from Khaalid ibn al-Waleed that he found a man among one of the Arab tribes with whom men would have intercourse as with a woman. He wrote to (caliph) Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq (may Allaah be pleased with him) and Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq consulted the Sahaabah (may Allaah be pleased with them).
‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib had the strongest opinion of all of them, and he said: “No one did that but one of the nations, and you know what Allaah did to them. I think that he should be burned with fire.” So Abu Bakr wrote to Khaalid and he had him burned.

If this isn’t the understatement of the year, I don’t know what is.
I’m guessing most leftists are completely unaware of just how different their views are compared to the muslim ummah.

I cannot find the word “imperceptive” in a dictionary. What does it mean? Does this statement mean that Muslims in general are unable to perceive this poster? Is this statement a plea that more Muslims should view this poster?
gravenimage says
Mark, here is the definition of imperceptive:
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/imperceptive
In this context it means that the Infidels who created this poster are not perceptive about orthodox Muslims being enraged over any Muslims being depicted as being homosexual.
Patriotliz says
“A crash at the intersectionality intersection.” That’s hilarious! It’s always tested with the Western diversity perversities. Muslims can’t tolerate infidels to begin with but they do for their own sake at getting a foothold in the West, but they draw a line with sexual perversities EXCEPT for pedophilia.
How far can tolerance go between the Western Globalist Commies and their anti-West Muslim Sharia supremacist allies?
gravenimage says
They are also good with rape–including same sex rape–as humiliation.
