The city of Cologne doesn’t want to risk offending its considerable Turkish Muslim population.
“The Embassy on dismantling of Armenian Genocide Memorial in Cologne,” by Siranush Ghazanchyan, Public Radio of Armenia, May 7, 2022 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
In response to the numerous enquiries since May 6th regarding the Armenian Genocide Memorial located on the left side of the Hohenzollernbrücke bridge in Cologne, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the Federal Republic of Germany reports the following:
The monument was erected on 15 April 2018 at the Remember the Genocide Initiative (Initiative Völkermord erinnern) and a number of individual citizens. Due to the absence of an official installation permit, the monument was dismantled four days after its installation (19 April 2018), which was the subject of a legal dispute.
Every year, ahead of 24 April, the monument is erected and then dismantled on the grounds of the absence of an official permission, which has clearly become the subject of outrage by many of our compatriots and a legal dispute with the local authorities….

It would be bad manners to offend the guests you have invited into your house. They might just leave. Yeah, that would be embarrassing. However, if you are afraid that if you somehow offend your guests they might just demolish your home, well, you should never invite such people into your home in the first place.

Absolutely correct. If you have a reason to fear a “guest,” then that “guest” should not be one; and that one should be unwelcome in the home. Don’t allow them to set foot over the threshold. Don’t even allow them on the porch, steps or walk leading to these.

Baytak bayti :
Your house is my house.
A version of a traditional offer of hospitality.
Infidel says
Hospitality would be “My house is your house”, but then it should be met w/ grace, as well as a sense that a guest is there only temporarily, and leaves before too long

Truth almost always offends some. Would you be in the good books of bad guys or the other way around?
For Germany, standing up to some bullies and thugs is little too much to fathom. To hell with truth, and so presto: choose cowardice over everything else. Isn’t this a great finish to a “problem” in hand?
Just shameless elites.

Your post, raja, reminded me of what Sir Winston Churchill observed about the Germans, to wit, that they are either at your throat or at your feet.
N.B., I am of half-German descent myself. My paternal great-great-grandfather came to America, specifically Pennsylvania, shortly after the 1848-1849 revolutions throughout much of Europe. Damn good decision I have long thought. He did all his descendants, including me, a great deed. Better overall to be a German-American than a German because the brilliance and insight of British Civilization, which was carried on by an independent America post-1776, blows away anything the Teutonic world has ever created where the matter of liberty is concerned. Sorry for the long digression, Raja, but my blood was up.

Wellington,
Thanks for the reply. I empathize with everyone who are sorry for the state-of-the-affairs in Europe and most everywhere.
Clearly, we are in for greater trouble from islam and Left as they smell victory and go in for more rampaging. Most of mankind has thrown away commonsense, logic, empathy, reason and to add to it has chosen cowardice as a solution to bullies of islam and left. At heart is lack of leaders who see through the problem or want a lasting solution.

In the days of hitler, many citizens turned their eyes away and denied what he was doing; denied what mozlums were assisting in to rid the nation of its “undesirables.”
Many just turned away and paid no attention.
Now, this is being repeated….without hitler and his gang. It’s the mozlums that have been welcomed into the country and many just want to ignore, turn their eyes away and deny what is happing. but the result, even without hitler, will be the same.

happening…not happing. whatever happing is, the alert for misspelling didn’t happen.
hap: by chance

This is the sort of problem that all of our societies are going to face if they have let a large number of Muslims into our countries. Germany has let far too many Turkish Muslims in and now this garbage happens. All sorts of normal western type freedoms are bound to be destroyed by the Muslims once they have built up their numbers to a sufficient level. islam and freedom of expression never go together. They never have and they never will. islam is only about bullying and thuggery and is incompatible with our western way of life..
somehistory says
In the U.S. right now, the ones who insist on baby-killing are using the same tactics that mozlums use…rage, arson, rock throwing, threats…
The world is on fire and the politicians are throwing fuel on it…by their words of praise for the lawbreakers and by their kowtowing to the violence and the threats of violence.
tim gallagher says
Yes, somehistory, rational debate seems a bit of a rarity these days. I remember all those violent BLM and Antifa riots in the USA. Here in Australia, I recall Muslims rampaging through the centre of Sydney (could be five or more years ago from memory) over the usual crap about some insult to Muhammad or some such crap. It’s the uncivilised Muslim way to riot rather than have rational discussions. Germany is bound to have plenty of trouble because they have too many Turkish Muslims there and will begin to apply political pressure. France will have even bigger problems because I believe that country has over 8% Muslims. Far too many.
somehistory says
agreed, Tim. Once the percentage nears ten, mozlums are in numbers and arrogant boldness so that they use more and more force and violence to take over. They feed off each other, because they all are taught the same things, and learn the same tactics to use to get what they want, and what they want is submission to them.
Clearly, they are working on the side of satan and doing his bidding; as Jesus said, they “do their father’s desire.”
tim gallagher says
Yes,somehistory, I agree. Once Muslims build their numbers up then they can bare their fangs and try to bully society into accepting the barbaric crap they believe in. Same story everywhere in the world.
Infidel says
Somehow, it’s a bit too easy to put together memes about Germany and Nazi to begin w/, and what they’re doing here just makes it as fluent as breathing. On another note, Lufthansa barred some 100 Orthodox Jews from NYC from a flight from JFK to Budapest and had to apologize later: all the passengers in question had to split and book new flights from different airlines from the connecting flight at Frankfurt. The descendants of yesterday’s Nazis are today’s mask Nazis
Anyway, Sieg Heil, Deutschland!

Germany: City of Cologne dismantles Armenian Genocide Memorial four days after it was installed
…………
*Just appalling*. Instead of cravenly taking this memorial down, Germans should consider what it means for them that so many Muslims are willing to turn violent over any concern for their Infidel victims.

We are not very different. Our sports teams, industries, politicians kowtow to the Chi communists out of fear and greed. They give in to CAIR and other Muslim interest groups out of fear and greed. Why condemn Germany when we cannot get up the strength to stand for our own values.
Wellington says
Well, the article was about Germany, not America, but, yes, many in America are craven too, for instance the NFL, which I no longer have anything to do with.
