As we all know by now, Elon Musk bought Twitter, and he’s promising to bring changes to how it does business, with a repeated focus on free speech and how important it is to civilization. And while that sounds good, we’ll see how that manifests itself in the coming months when he takes full charge of its operations. And Musk clearly sees that the way Twitter has done business has been unacceptable, as it’s been a very dirty business, with the leftists and Muslims behind it routinely smearing their non-violent and non-dangerous political and ideological opponents as “dangerous” and “violent,” as a pretext to ban them for good. They removed a sitting president, Trump, from their platform over the left’s Big Lie of “insurrection.” They shadow-banned truth-tellers, while boosting leftist liars. And they often talked about making the platform “safe,” while completely ignoring the Muslims who threaten death as often as Biden lies.
Writing personally, Twitter always ignored the death threats I got from Muslims over my Mohammad cartoons, yet they banned me for good in 2018 for criticizing Marvel’s Islamophilic Muslim superhero comic book, which ignores the Only reason any of us began to speak about Islam, jihad. But after I heard of Musk buying the platform, I decided to see if I can sign up for an account after four years, and surprisingly, I was able to create one, and I’m back up on it as @TheBoschFawstin. And it’s been fun posting on the platform, as I’ve always liked its forced limitations, as I think concision is a real value in writing.
But then there’s the left’s insane, unhinged reaction to Musk seizing its weapon, because make no mistake about, that’s exactly how the left viewed Twitter, as a weapon against its enemies, and one which they used to lie about them and to lie about what they’re actually up to. And just as the left has moaned about the existence of Fox News, as even one outlet that’s not under their control is too much for them, they’re telling us in their always indirect way that losing even one social(ist) media platform is catastrophic to their need to propagandize 24/7. So the left is treating this loss as if it were the end of the world and they’re vilifying Musk in the same way that they vilify Trump, calling him every name in the book, and smearing him as if their lives depends on it. And yet they’ve had no problem whatsoever with the fact that the platform had/has a major stockholder who’s as illiberal as it gets, Saudi prince Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, who no doubt made sure that Twitter has been a shariah-compliant company since he bought his way in. (See my Jack Dorsey taliBAN cartoon that I drew for Laura Loomer, ripping Dorsey for allowing Muslim terrorists on his platform.) And of course, the Saudi prince was completely opposed to Musk taking over Twitter, to which Musk challenged his position on free speech by writing him directly:
Interesting. Just two questions, if I may. How much of Twitter does the Kingdom own, directly & indirectly? What are the Kingdom’s views on journalistic freedom of speech?
We all know the answer to Musk’s final question, and I give him credit for asking it, as so few are willing to challenge Muslims, particularly wealthy and powerful ones, about what they really think, as they lie as much as leftists do. So going forward, I can imagine that this Saudi prince will not be part of Musk’s Twitter, if we’re to believe Musk’s claim that he’s a “free speech absolutist.” I even challenged Musk to back his claim here.
We don’t know exactly where this is going, but it is promising that the richest man in the world appears to understand how important free speech is. I can’t help but think that at the least, a major platform that’s been the left’s weapon for years, has a chance at being what it advertised itself as, a platform where all people can have their say, without it favoring certain groups over others, or punishing others, and having a far more healthy exchange of ideas.
We’ll see what happens, but I have to admit that I’m excited at what the possibilities could be, not only with Twitter, but with other platforms and outlets, particularly because so many were convinced that Musk couldn’t pull it off, that the left’s stranglehold on social(ist) media was impenetrable. Well, a major leftist platform was seized by someone who’s not afraid to be associated with those on the right, such as the Babylon Bee, and who repeatedly speaks of free speech as it should be spoken about, because it IS the most important issue of our time, of any time.
We’ll see.

With everything going on at the moment: Covid, lockdowns, economic crisis, war in Europe etc. However terrible and scary all of this may be, it should also be sobering to a lot of people and reveal just how silly and insignificant the woke agenda is even if it managed to become the modus operandi in politics as well as business for a long time. Hopefully we can soon close this strange chapter and move on to a better future that will respect and build upon our roots and history in the West rather than rejecting and destroying it all.

Al Gore sold his Current TV Network to moslems in Qatar. What a disappointment that was — but it highlighted the nexus between left and moslems. It is good Musk saved Twitter from moslems.

Yes–this from Al Gore was just appalling.

Welcome back, Bosch.
However, your return to Twiitter would indicate some rogue programmer is worried about his/her job since Musk ordered all code frozen until it could analyzed. Tracks are being covered.
I can’t envy the job ahead for Musk to find the rogue prima donnas, programmers or teams, and remove them from Twitter to achieve an honest platform. Managing programmers is like herding cats – if there is no complete documentation trail for the code, it’s out of management control.
Considering Musk’s absolute necessity to have well-documented code at SpaceX, he must have both good tools and trusted programmers who can find the wild hairs in Twitter. He intends to have the user control software open for analysis which has never been done by a commercial corporation . Musk just keeps breaking new ground.
I can just hear the howls from politicians when they realize they can’t make claims of bias when the decision code is open for inspection – and out of their control.
gravenimage says
Westman, I’m not sure the problem with Twitter was rogue programmers–I think if may well have been company policy, it was so ideologically consistent.
Westman says
I meant the fact that Bosch could get back on Twitter when a code freeze was in place means there is a rogue or group of rogues trying to cover up the former coding so no one knows who implemented it. I’ve worked coding, professionally, and I know from experience how these things go.
Half or more of business CEOs do not have control or have understanding of the very code that supports their business. They have to trust.

Don’t expect anything to change at Twitter until Musk moves their headquarters out of SF. IMHO, he should move it to a state like MS or AL, so that employees quit rather than relocate to what they think of as a land of rubes, or Klan territory. Once he’s done that, he can hire just the minimum number of people needed to maintain the databases and administer the servers
Oh, while at it, keep an eye over your shoulder for any dirty tricks that Amazon pulls, like when they sabotaged Parler. Have your own cloud servers available, or hire a service that doesn’t cancel based on political pressure

This is great that Musk bought the platform and will hopefully follow through on making it a site that adheres to freedom of speech. It’s unfortunate that the gov’t dropped the ball in enforced 1st Amend on all social media sites.
The other problem is how much influence does Twitter really have? There’s only about 70 million US users and only about 7 million of them are very active, posting 80% of the content on that site.
The real “meat and potatoes” when it comes to free speech imo is Google and Youtube, but also Facebook. I’m sure engagement on those sites is far higher and Google controls what content you see in your searches while Youtube determines which videos you can view.
Twitter is largely irrelevant imo. In the US, Youtube has 210 million users and billions globally. Similarly with Google, 250m in the US and over 4 billion worldwide. Facebook has 200m in the US and over 2 billion globally.
So these latter platforms have the greatest influence in politics and society globally but esp in the US. Twitter has a fraction of that reach. I’m not sure if Musk can do anything about those other sites, but that’s where censorship has a greater influence.
I personally don’t give a damn about Twitter, their censorship turned me off from their platform ages ago. They killed their own golden goose and I think it’ll probably remain infested by radical Left nutjobs so I couldn’t care less.
Fortunately Youtube wasn’t as censorial as Twitter, but it’s still pretty bad. There was a time I couldn’t even use the words “muslim” or “Islam” without having the post deleted right away…it seems they’ve lightened up a little on that.
Let’s also not forget about the many great channels they shut down, shadow-banned or demonized, simply for speaking truthfully and honestly about Islam. So I think they’re still sites that need to either by bought out by free speech advocates or regulated by the gov’t.
Freedom speech is essential to the survival of the West. If we don’t know about a danger to us, if we cannot talk about it, then our civilization will die of. Imagine if Iran was working on nukes and it planned to destroy the US, Israel, Europe (which it is), but we weren’t allowed to say one word, lest we faced banning and jail?
Well that’s very much like the situation we’re in today. We have some free speech but barely any and it’s in the advantage of an enemy ideology which makes absolutely no sense.
So hopefully Musk or other benevolent, powerful billionaires turn their attention to all social media platforms, esp. the largest ones, and then do the same that Musk is doing to Twitter.
It’s time that Islam was stripped of all its fake protections that prevents any inquiry and judgment because Islam is a toxic dump on this planet that is sickening and killing humanity and needs to be dealt with.

This *does* sound promising–glad to see Bosch Fawstin back on Twitter. Appalling that he was banned for a peaceful opinion–especially when those spouting *death threats* were not.
But yes–the Left has been absolutely unhinged over this.
For instance, MSNBC sneeringly characterizes a commitment to freedom of speech as “college dorm room views” that are going to “wreck Twitter”–as though embracing censorship were a sign of maturity:
https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-opinion/elon-musk-twitter-s-free-speech-philosophy-king-not-promising-n1294901
This article is by Muslim Zeeshan Aleem, who has described suicide bombings (homicide bombings) as “political protest”.
And good to see this article and cartoon from Bosch Fawstin.
