This review is much needed, but it won’t find anything, because it will be conducted by the same people who are responsible for the failures. They won’t dare take note of the likelihood that the intelligence community was too concerned with enforcing its own politicization and studying Critical Race Theory to do anything useful. They certainly won’t dare take note of the fact that their willful ignorance regarding Islam and Sharia deformed the American misadventure in Afghanistan from the very beginning.
“US intelligence community launches review following Ukraine and Afghanistan intel failings,” by Katie Bo Lillis and Natasha Bertrand, CNN, May 13, 2022:
Washington (CNN)The US intelligence community is carrying out a sweeping internal review of how it assesses the fighting power of foreign militaries amid mounting pressure from key lawmakers on Capitol Hill who say officials have failed twice in one year on the two major foreign policy crises faced by the Biden administration in Ukraine and Afghanistan.
The Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday sent a classified letter to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Defense Department and the CIA pointing out that the agencies broadly underestimated how long the Ukrainian military would be able to fend off Russian forces and overestimated how long Afghan fighters would hold out against the Taliban last summer after the US withdrawal from the country, multiple sources familiar with the matter tell CNN. They questioned the methodology behind the intelligence community’s assessments, and the underlying assumptions behind them, the sources said….

The first sentence in this article by Robert Spencer respecting this “matter” sums it up with 100% accuracy.
We are now led by buffoons, clowns, jokers, the devious, the overall ignorant–and a whole bevy of other “eff-ups.”
Surely.
Count on it and proceed from this starting point if any good is to be done in America and in so much else of the West, whether the UK, France, Australia, et al.

Yes, the same buffoons who deny reality about Islam will make the same mistaken conclusions.

I suppose one could add the Iraq War to the list. How about the Vietnam War?

US intelligence community launches review following catastrophic failures in Ukraine and Afghanistan
This review is much needed, but it won’t find anything, because it will be conducted by the same people who are responsible for the failures.
…………….
Sadly likely.

Yes, gravenimage.
The outcome of this review has already been predetermined.

I just had to read this article, simply because there is a picture of Kerry and the word intelligence.

Even to those with an O level knowledge of the Middle East, it was alarming to watch gun-slingers Blair and Bush taking their first baby steps.
Some had the courage to oppose them, like Gilligan, Kennedy, Cook and Short, but not the in-depth knowledge to expose the insanity and predict the outcome.
OLD GUY says
Yes the law makers are covering their butts by asking for this review of the intel agencies. The Intel Agencies will cover their butts and blame some low level committee or persons. The media will forget about it in three days and all is well. Everybody in a position power will keep their high paying position and we the people keep picking up the tab for both those under investigation/review and the those doing the review. Politicians and Lawyers what do you think the outcome will be?

How good and valid the intelligence is doesn’t matter if the “powers that be” refuse to listen to it. To prove the deafness of those powers just say “Vietnam War”.
E T says
Yes, the Vietnam War, and John Kerry throwing away his medals and cursing the United States, and now he is a follower of the madman Klaus Schwab.

When you no longer have a meritocracy, you will always end up with the lowest standards being the norm.
We currently have a kakistocracy where we are ruled by the very worst of society. Who rule not by intelligence but by raw emotion.
