Why “Muslims”? Because jihadis are carrying out attacks such as this one in the name of Islam and in accord with its teachings. If they weren’t Muslims, this attack would not have happened.
“Burkina Faso: Five civilians killed in attack, army says,” Africa News, July 11, 2022 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
Five civilians were killed Sunday in an attack by suspected jihadists on a military detachment in Barsalogho, northern Burkina Faso, the army said.
“On Sunday morning, fighting broke out between elements of the military detachment in Barsalogho”, in the north-central region, “and an armed terrorist group that had come to attack the detachment’s hold. At the same time, another group of terrorists targeted civilians,” the military said in a statement.
The toll was “five civilians, including a child”, killed, as well as “eight wounded soldiers who were evacuated and treated”, the army said….
Like its neighbours Niger and Mali, Burkina Faso has been caught up in a spiral of violence since 2015, attributed to armed jihadist movements affiliated to Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State group, which has left thousands dead and 1.9 million displaced.
More than 40% of the territory is outside the control of the state, according to official figures.
The country has become the epicentre of violence in the Sahel, with more deadly attacks than Mali or Niger in 2021, according to the NGO Acled….

So sick. And their coreligionists in Togo just murdered seven children.
God, I hate Islam.

what an understatement of the situation in this nation and its neighborrs.
according to wikipedia
“The Sahel is the ecoclimatic and biogeographic realm of transition in Africa between the Sahara to the north and the Sudanian savanna to the south. Having a semi-arid climate, it stretches across the south-central latitudes of Northern Africa between the Atlantic Ocean and the Red Sea.”
that is a heck of a big area. These ghouls are in competition with nigeria, sudan, and other nations in africa to see just how many innocent people they can slaughter. The dead bodies of tiny children, young girls and boys, women and men and the old an infirm, are piling up.
Many of the dead are Christian and are murdered for this very reason.
these mozlum human snakes will reap one day soon, exactly what they are sowing so abundantly.

Somehistory, I’ve mentioned here a few times that we used to sponsor children through Childreach in the 1990s. We sponsored a girl in Ethiopia, then a boy in Bolivia. Nice kids, and we were happy to be able to give their families a leg up.
Then we sponsored a girl in Burkina Faso. This was *very* different. She was surly, dismissive, and demanding if she wrote at all–the letters were written out by a representative of the charity. She never directly replied to our letters. I don’t know if she received them, or even if she could read. She lived in a compound with the wives of her polygamous father, which made us very uncomfortable. When I mentioned that she might be more comfortable with someone else–not sure who that would be–Childreach said that her father had threatened to marry her off if she lost her sponsorship. She was twelve at the time.
So we stuck it out, sending in payments and writing but not really expecting anything back. We sent her a farewell letter when she reached 18; no reply back. I wish I’d known more about Islam at the time–all of this would have made a lot more sense.

gravenimage,
At least you tried to do the right thing with the knowledge that you had at the time.
God bless.

When one does the right thing at their own expense, there is a reward. And there is a Bible verse that makes that statement. But not in those exact words.
My brain is not being very clear this day. Anyway, you did the right thing, even if it was never appreciated by the girl. Of course, with a mozlum standing guard over her, it’s possible she had no choice in the matter. He could have trashed your letters, spent the money and the child never saw any of it.

Just for you g. Notice esp verse 4, part B, and the A portion of 5
‘Psalm 15
A psalm of David.
1 Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent?
Who may live on your holy mountain?
2 The one whose walk is blameless,
who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from their heart;
3 whose tongue utters no slander,
who does no wrong to a neighbor,
and casts no slur on others;
4 who despises a vile person
but honors those who fear the Lord;
who keeps an oath even when it hurts,
and does not change their mind;
5 who lends money to the poor without interest;
who does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
Whoever does these things
will never be shaken.
