New in PJ Media:
It’s understandable that in times of crisis, people would reach out for reassurance, for some indication that things aren’t as dismal as they seem. Still, when times are tough, it is more important than ever not to be seduced by wishful thinking.
In a disheartening exercise of willful ignorance and the myopia that wishful thinking can induce, the Jerusalem Post published a curious piece Tuesday entitled “Hamas has perverted Islam for their sacrilegious, blasphemous actions.” The author, Yakov Nagen, is identified as a rabbi and “the director of Ohr Torah Stone’s Blickle Institute for Interfaith Dialogue.” Interfaith dialogue is a realm in which self-delusion can all too easily run wild and fond hopes reign supreme over reality; Nagen’s article is, unfortunately, yet another example of this.
“What empowers Hamas and allows it to thrive,” Nagen asserts, “is that too many have accepted their corruption of the teachings of a world religion.” He notes with satisfaction that Hamas does have opponents within the Islamic world: “Hundreds of Muslim leaders signed a public statement issued by the Global Imams Council (GIC) unequivocally condemning the massacre. In the condemnation, they refer to a legal ruling issued by the Islamic Fatwa Council, located in the Iraqi spiritual capital of Najaf: ‘It is prohibited to pray for, join, support, finance, or fight on behalf of Hamas.’”
That sounds wonderful, but then Nagen adds, “The ruling enumerated 11 correlations between Hamas and ISIS, including the use of suicide bombers, missile attacks against civilians, and genocidal aspirations, in the case of Hamas annihilating the Jews.”
It is unpleasant, but nonetheless true: neither ISIS nor Hamas originated these ideas. They are all rooted in core Islamic texts. The justification for suicide bombing is in the Qur’an, the holy book of Islam: “Indeed, Allah has bought from the believers their lives and their wealth, because the garden will be theirs, they will fight in the way of Allah and will kill and be killed.” (9:111) This is the only promise of paradise in the Qur’an, but one can take hold of that promise by being killed while killing unbelievers.
Killing women and children, i.e., civilians, is justified in an Islamic tradition, a hadith, in which Muhammad waves away those who object: “It is reported on the authority of Sa’b bin Jaththama that the Prophet of Allah (may peace be upon him), when asked about the women and children of the polytheists being killed during the night raid, said: They are from them.” (Sahih Muslim 4321)

I’m sure the Rabbi knows exactly what Islam is all about. However, there are a few Muslims in the IDF. It would be diplomatic to say that Hamas is not following the teachings of Islam, rather than irritate the Muslim contingent in the IDF!
Long live Israel!
MJ Raichyk says
well maybe those IDF Muslims are followers of the rebel imam of peace, IMAM TAWHIDI.. a scholar on koranic teachings who says that some of the books included in the Koran are not genuine… Tawhidi, you may recall was a supporter of Tommy Robinson in the Brexit battles…
Tawhidi escaped the psychopathic training done to young males when he studied in Iran
marc says
I doubt they have heard of Tawhidi, they have been around a lot longer than him, I have been fortunate enough to have spent time with a couple ’79/80, they are very secular, they like the life that Israel offers, they see the big picture, they wear the flag proudly, and they are very respected due to some having shown extreme bravery in the line of duty.
Tawhidi is a reformist, but he is also an evangelist, so I’m wary of him.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
He is a shi’a, so he generally speaks from a persecution complex from sunnis. For instance, he’s spoken about how sunnis massacred the descendants of Muhammad. Doesn’t seem to address at all the henotheistic activities of Muhammad himself. He’s good in that he talks about co-existence w/ Jews, Christians and others indefinitely, but he does fall short in not condemning the evil stuff already there in quran and sunnah
Goofy says
You can blame Hamas for a lot, but they are blameless walking in the footsteps of the Messenger of Allah, killing as an act of true worship!
Hoi Polloi says
The enemy within. It’s a sin to lie to those to whom you present yourself as a shepherd, and to cover for terrorists, no less.
somehistory says
Absolutely, HP. It’s a sin to lie. And the higher position one holds, the more that is required of him to carry out his responsibilities. Failure has its consequences.
Lying, as you say, to those who look to hear the Truth from one who “presents” himself as a shepherd, has much blood on his hands and will pay a heavy price for his duplicity.
Hoi Polloi says
As freely as our current era’s river of lies is flowing, it’s clear there are some plans to ally with what these liars believe is the next and imminent power structure. Prior to this, it was more like Jesus describing the Pharisees, who were careful to speak truth, but who didn’t live it. Now they brazenly violate on both fronts.

Should we tell the islamic gentlemen in the above photo that the scientific, theological and Historical errors in the koran show that the author {“allah”} is not actually omniscient? The koran does not come from any god.It is impossible because omniscience is a necessary requirement to be God and allah doesn’t have it although he thinks he does.sorry allah!
allah is like an AI system that has deluded itself into thinking it “is the knower of all things” like allah insists koran 2:29 when clearly it doesn’t.
What would be the point explaining it to those muslims above?Would they get it?of course not
They do not look like the sort of people who are capable of understanding things.
Logic{ as well as Reason} and islam were separated at birth…which is why muslims could never be Vulcans but are more like the Borg.

Glenn Beck on radio, was interviewing a man who moved from the ME to Canada in the mid 70’s. I only caught the last few minutes of the conversation with this man who is a professor.
He was asked about the mozlum who is the **leading** mozlum in knowledge of islam in the sunni world. That mozlum said that ‘hitler’ was doing what their fake god wanted done and what was needed was to wipe the Jews off the earth. He said that mozlum has said that ‘the punishment for the Jews will come at the hands of the unbelievers.’
The professor then said, people will say that mozlum doesn’t know islam; but they believe the mozlum they know who ‘eats pork, drinks alcohol, and is homosexual.’
The Bible says that the time would come when preachers are chosen who ‘tickle the ears’ of the hearers and that is what the ‘hearers’ want.
The Truth may hurt; but in actuality, as Jesus said, “The Truth will set you free.”
Lies are the opposite….they cause all kinds of confinement, problems, slavery to wrong, etc..
James Lincoln says
somehistory,
Just wondering why Hitler never converted to islam.
somehistory says
Perhaps, James, he did so secretly. I believe there have been many secret mozlums and now that so many mozlums have political power, fewer will keep it secret.
If bo was running now, instead of running the government from his basement, he probably would not pretend to be Christian.
Back in the early 90’s, I read in RD that hitler was seen down on the floor, chewing on the carpet.
Perhaps he was chewing on it to coverup having gotten down to chant death to the Jews and Christians…and learning more ways to “prey.”
James Lincoln says
Maybe so, somehistory.
Maybe so.
