The fact many Indian Muslims, those who often refuse to stand for the national anthem, are standing with “Palestine” is no secret. However, in the guise of supporting “Palestine,” a significant bloc of these Muslims is also supporting the Islamic terrorist organization Hamas. People have been arrested in different parts of the country for their social media posts supporting and praying for the Islamic terrorist group.
Such people are no longer limited to social media, where they add the Palestinian flag to their profile and defend Hamas. They have now taken their support for Islamic terrorism from the virtual world to the real. On Thursday, October 26, a Muslim woman named Amina Shaikh went to the New Delhi-based Palestine Embassy to seek a visa to “Palestine.” Shaikh wanted to go to Gaza and join the people of her community to fight against Israel.
While speaking to the media, she demanded that the government of India should allow all Muslims to go to “Palestine” and fight Israel. Shaikh must have intended to join Hamas, as the ongoing conflict is between Israel and Hamas. The woman appeared to have imbibed jihadi perspectives; she claimed that people of her community didn’t fear death, and asserted that they were ready to die for their ummah. Now, can we dismiss the opinions of this woman as the blabbering of an odd, deranged woman?
On the evening of Friday, October 27, former Hamas chief Khaled Meshaal virtually addressed a massive Muslim audience. The event was organized by the Solidarity Youth Movement, the youth wing of the jihadi outfit Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, in Malappuram, Kerala. As per reports, while addressing the audience, Meshaal called for the complete annihilation of Hinduism and Zionism.
Making several anti-Hindu comments to excite the audience at the rally, Meshaal exhorted them to extend their unconditional support to Hamas by taking to the streets, preparing for jihad, sending financial help to Hamas and promulgating the pro-Palestanian narrative on social media. In response, the hysterical audience raised anti-Hindu and anti-Semitic slogans such as “Bulldoze Hindutva” and “Uproot Zionism.” They showed their absolute approval for the terrorist leader’s seven-minute-long speech, which was playing on a large screen, with roaring applause, and they vowed their support for Hamas terrorists.
A terrorist leader calling for support and getting it indeed is undoubtedly alarming for India. While the state police operating under the communist government failed to stop this rally, politician K Surendran from the Kerala Bharatiya Janata Party President recognized the dangers this rally. “Under the guise of ‘Save Palestine,’ they’re glorifying Hamas, a terrorist organization, and its leaders as ‘warriors.’ This is unacceptable!” he declared via his X account. He also called for the state Home Minister to intervene and investigate.
Amidst this massive backlash, the event organizer justified the rally and Mashal’s address, stating, “There is nothing unusual or illegal about it.” The state chief of the Student Youth Movement (SYM), the youth wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Suhaib CT, also opined that Hamas is not a terrorist group, but a “resistance movement.” He also revealed that Hamas leaders have addressed events in India in the past as well. “There is nothing unusual about a leader of such a party partaking in a Palestine solidarity event in Kerala. Such a leader speaking here is not a crime under any law,” argued the Jamaat-e-Islami leader. Suhaib further declared that many more such “solidarity events” will be held in India, establishing the support of the Muslims in India for the Palestinian people.
This was not the first time an anti-Israel gathering has been organized in Kerala. On Thursday, October 26, the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) staged a massive rally on Kozhikode beach in Kerala, and exhibited their staunch support for “Palestine.”
At the rally, IUML supporters carried banners, chanted slogans in support of Hamas, and justified Hamas terrorism as “resistance.” Later, the union and leftist politicians as well slammed a senior political leader, the Thiruvananthapuram parliamentarian Shashi Tharoor, who was invited as the chief guest, for referring to Hamas as terrorists, and labelled its repeated strikes against Israel a “terrorist act.” By attacking Tharoor for calling Hamas terrorists, the union and leftists exposed themselves as not merely supporters of “Palestine,” but as ardent apologists for Hamas and its barbaric atrocities against innocent civilians, including women and children of Israel.
These appalling advancements confirm that while Hamas is operating in “Palestine” against Israel, it has also formed sleeper cells in countries that have a sizable Muslim population. Muslims beyond the Middle East support the ideology of Hamas. The anti-Hindu sloganeering by the Hamas supporters in Kerala demonstrates that their war is not limited to Israel, and their hate is not only for the Jews.

You need to start calling out the BJP as well. Right now, Israel is rightly furious at India for abstaining in that UN resolution calling for a ceasefire (instead of opposing it, like Israel did). India is headed to a black hole unless the BJP is uprooted and removed, and replaced by real Hindu parties like Ekam Sanatan Bharat
