Turkish parliament has announced that it is “boycotting companies that support Israel, saying their products won’t be sold in any of its restaurants, cafeterias or teahouses.” Among them, Coca-Cola and Nestle.
As usual, Turkey is employing bully tactics. Never mind its own dysfunction at home and its poverty crisis created by the policies of its Islamic supremacist President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Erdogan is also now whining that the “Israel-Hamas conflict has both tarnished” America’s “reputation and put the entire world community in a tough spot.” Muslim countries are the ones in the “tough spot” — from those that support the Palestinian “resistance” to those that are refusing to accept Palestinian refugees, including Turkey.
Erdogan is also accusing Israel of “war crimes” in Gaza, and denouncing its incursion there as “an open, vicious massacre.” He is, of course, ignoring Hamas’ calculated ISIS-like assault on Israeli citizens on Oct. 7, and the threat Hamas poses to the existence of Israel. Other NATO “allies have expressed solidarity with Israel, making clear that it has the right to defend itself with proportionality against these unjustifiable acts of terror.”
Once again, Erdogan proves that Turkey has no place in NATO.
“Turkey’s parliament announces boycott of companies that support Israel,” Times of Israel, November 7, 2023:
Turkey’s parliament has announced it’s boycotting companies that support Israel, saying their products won’t be sold in any of its restaurants, cafeterias or teahouses.
According to a statement from the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the decision has been made by parliament speaker Numan Kurtulus in support of the “public sensitivities” toward the sale of products from companies that have allegedly “openly declared their support to Israel’s war crimes.”….

Yeah?Well we can play that game too
No more Turkeys for Thanksgiving.Take that Turkey

Uh, that’s said to be the reason Turkey changed its name to “Türkiye”: to avoid those 🦃 jokes
Ray Jarman says
I do not think that it has succeeded at all. Since there seems to be no means to throw the gobbler out of NATO, maybe the other nations can opt to simply dissolve the organization and have a new one where members fund it more equally and the US does not pay for the organizations’ existence.
As has been suggested here at JW and elsewhere, let’s dissolve the UN by simply opting out. Without US money, it would fall apart on its own.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
I do agree that NATO should be disbanded. Or better yet, since the EU was contemplating a “European Army”, maybe let the EU do that, and let it replace NATO, w/ the US pulling out.
We need to first pay attention to our own Southern border, then to Latin America as a whole where Chicom influence has overshadowed American influence, and finally, the Indo-Pacific. In the last case, as recently as 2020, we had allies like Australia, India and Japan happy to pull their own weight and contribute towards supporting other countries bullied by Beijing, such as Taiwan, Vietnam and Mongolia. Those are the type of allies we need
Let Europe manage its own continent, and if it wishes, Africa and the Middle East. We need to focus on the other areas mentioned above

How many Turks actually buy those products? That is like banning toilet paper-none of them use it.

And now all those turkeys will have to be released back into the Jungles where they came from. It’s a moose point.

Is Erdogan aware that Nestlé is not a US company?
Anyway, big power play. Imagine the rush to supermarkets, Lowes, and Autozone to get those Turkey products before they are gone. Just grabbin’ my wallet now, pushed the auto-start button, told the wife to hold breakfast. Yeah, right.

Indeed, when was the last time one saw anything that said “Made in Turkey”? My only opportunity to boycott Turkey comes w/ boycotting Chobani’s yogurt for my cooking: instead, I go w/ Greek or Pavel’s (Russian) yogurt if needed. If I’m shopping for apparel, I make it a point to boycott Bangladesh, & maybe even Egypt & Indonesia, but I never have to even look at Turkey, or even for that matter, much of Pakistan
Westman says
If anyone is buying one of these autos, check where it was assembled. Turkey has assembly plants for, Fiat/Tofaş, Oyak-Renault, Hyundai, Toyota, Ford Otosan.
You don’t want a Toyota assembled by someone who just stripped a bolt and says, “maktub!”(it is written, fate), and moves on instead of, “damn, now I’ve gotta slow things down to replace it.”
Keith O says
Or buying a car assembled by someone who’s parents were related by birth!!!
GreekEmpress says
Infidel,
Have you tried Fage yogurt?
It’s what all us Greeks here on the border use—
I have boycotted P&G products for a while now since they made investments in Turkey.
I guess now I’ll look up what products Nestle makes so I can support them. If I drank pop I’d start buying Coke—

I haven’t seen Fage yogurt in Safeway (maybe I haven’t noticed, or looked). If I do, I’ll buy it
Same here: I have boycotted P&G for a while for both their woke messaging: their investments in Turkey is just another reason. Although either is a valid #1. I dropped Gillette for first Harry’s, then Jeremy’s razor after Harry’s turned out to be woke as well. Jeremy’s razors are fine for shaving one’s head, which I do, but last too short for facial hair, so now I use Cremo’s razors. Toothpaste – I use Sensodyne
Nestle is primarily a coffee company – instant coffee, and I do have a large jar of instant Colombian coffee from them, ever since my coffee-maker croaked. They also own a whole lot of other subsidiaries that make other things, that they acquired over the decades
I gave up coke in 2020 when they called for boycotting Georgia over the state’s decision to rescind tax benefits given to Delta Airlines, which was in response to the latter virtue-signaling about the NRA by removing them from their list of discount sponsors, after decades of being a major guzzler of coke. Nowadays, I just combine club soda w/ an appropriate amount of sweetened lime juice for all the pop that I need. Unlike coke, it doesn’t corrode my teeth nor my bones
But yeah, the only muslim products that I have at home are some great apparel made in Indonesia or Egypt. Now if only I could find a way to boycott Chinese
James Lincoln says
Infidel,
Very tough to boycott China.
70 – 80% of the merchandise in Walmart is from China:

How about HALAL HAM?Too soon?

I am looking at the “ham” in Hamas. Going to do some “Allah” meat sandwiches today.

Muslims may say that there is no ham in islam but there is.
There is HAM in moHAMmed.
Food for islamic thought there.

Funny, Transmaster. They didn’t think through about how it would be spelled in English.
Using your observation, Hamas could become Ham-as, just add the extra “s”.

Everytime the pork issue comes up I think about what marine friends of mine did in Afganistan to Jihadist they captured. They fed them MRE’s with pork in them. They didn’t tell them but they took great pleasure in doing this.

Nestle and Coca Cola sell enough without the fools and the dictator in turkey buying the products.
If the whole nation of turkey mozlums (save the few people who are against evil there) went up in smoke, a lot of people would be thankful and the businesses that the er snake a wan is boycotting, would keep on selling.
John Smith says
Turkey boycotts coca cola, nestle and other companies that support Israel. This may go down well with muslims but it will have little or no effect on Israel, or Israels economy. However Turkey is in a more powerful position than most people are aware, if it really came to delivering a severe blow to Israel. Turkeys Ceyhan pipeline supplies around 40 percent of Israel’s annual oil consumption, and at the present moment it’s still operating.
Imagine the consequences this would cause if Erdogan decided to close it down. The reason I believe he hasn’t done this yet, is because it would probably have detrimental consequences on Turkeys own economy.
somehistory says
Thanks for that info, John. Likely right about the reasons he hasn’t cut it off. Doing that would be cutting off his nose to spite his face. His serfs might rise up against him if he ruins their economy.
John Smith says
Somehistory
I can’t think of any other reason that he hasn’t closed it down, as he’s a sworn enemy of the Jews. Israel knows this so they must have a plan B from where they would get their oil if he did decide to close it. So at the moment it’s probably beneficial for both sides to leave things stay as they are.
somehistory says
John, I can’t think of a reason either. You are way more knowledgeable on the subject than I. So, I have no doubt that you are right.

Hey even in islam money definitely comes first. I wonder if Erdogan knows that there is PIG by products in the ink and paper that we make our money with?

What’s Erdogon going to do when he finds out Intel also supports Israel? Make it illegal to own any product with an Intel chip? That’s a lot of computers being confiscated….
He’s such an idiot…like all dictators.

He would have AMD, but their foundry is owned by a UAE company called Global Foundries. But Emirates & Bahrein are 2 Arab countries that have completely normalized relations w/ Israel, so not sure whether AMD would be an alternative for him. Maybe he can mandate that Turks only buy Chromebooks or Linux computers w/ Chicom CPUs in them, assuming that they can figure out how to do much w/ them
