The bad news is that Hizballah saw “gaps in Israeli security,” as well as the weakness of the Biden administration, and thus planned to join Hamas to attack Israel “from all sides.”
The good news is that the “the United States’ firm backing of Israel took Hezbollah by surprise,” and this served as a deterrent. Imagine if the U.S. voted “yes” for ceasefire along with the UN, as did Canada.
The lesson: weakness and appeasement emboldens enemies and incites them to ramp up their destruction everywhere.
Hezbollah planned to join Hamas invasion but was deterred by US – report,” by Vered Weiss, World Israel News, January 15, 2024:
Hamas and Hezbollah planned to carry out a comprehensive attack on Israel from all sides, but when the US sided with Israel following October 7th, Hezbollah decided to participate in the war “only symbolically” a Hamas source told the Saudi network Asharq.
After Israel’s “Guardian of the Walls” operation in 2021, the terrorist groups noticed “gaps in Israeli security” that would allow a “comprehensive ground invasion.”
However, the October 7th attack as well as the United States’ firm backing of Israel took Hezbollah by surprise, and the Hamas source said Hezbollah was only minimally involved compared to previous plans.
The goal of the terrorist organizations was “to disrupt the activities of the IDF and state institutions” and to force Israel to retreat from Judea and Samaria and East Jerusalem to pre-1967 borders.
The invasion was intended not only to be in the south, which was carried out by Hamas on October 7th, but also in the north by Hezbollah.
Syrian troops were supposed to help Hezbollah with strikes on power and water stations in Israel.
After the Hamas attack on October 7th, Hezbollah decided to wait and see what the response from the US would be.
When US moved ships into the region, “They preferred to avoid destruction and decided to participate in the war symbolically,” the Hamas source said….

I call BS on this. How could Hezbollah be ‘surprised’ at USA’s support for Israel ????? Have they all been living in caves with no contact with the outside world for the last 50 years ???
KuhnKat says
I agree with George.
Yes, Hezbollah was deterred, BUT, it was surprised by the massive retaliation to Hamas and the fact that even though it was massive Israel did not pull any of the Northern units for that retaliation. Hezbollah quickly realized they would get the same as Hamas was getting, pulled out of their tunnels like Sodam Insane.
If they were fooled by the US response at all it would be because Chicom Sock Puppet Quid Pro Joe Demento has been slow to deliver resources to Ukraine making it appear we could not fully support Israel without seriously damaging the support for Ukraine.
One might wonder if this was the purpose of Hamas timing the attack when it did.

George and Kuhnkat,
I agree with both of you and to add to your excellent assessment, it just goes to prove the old adage that the best defense is an excellent offence.

One day it will happen. Prophecy from thousands of years ago, describes the attack and the outcome.
Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39

excellent point, somehistory. It is interesting to read Israel’s attackers in those chapters, which include nations (Gomer, Togarmah) that existed in those times in that bit of terrain we now call Turkey, and of course Persia (today’s Iran). Other adversaries from Islamic parts of Africa will be joining the conflict soon, and it also mentions Sheba, which may have existed in what we today call Yemen, the location of the Houthi terrorists launching drones and rockets now towards Israel. Gog and Magog are murkier and may represent nations worldwide antagonistic to God’s Chosen. As things get bloodier, those attacking columns will find God’s direct response as “My fury will come up in My face” in pestilence, blood, flowing rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. His fury will be broadcast to the whole world, and He declares, “I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord.” There’s no telling when that fearful day shall arrive, but I believe millions worldwide will become quickly frantic to approach the true Jehovah with broken spirits, contrite and broken hearts. Many disagree with this perspective, and they may well be right. But methinks we are the generation on this planet created to witness and endure the nightmares in our near future.

thank you, Westpacwill. And I agree with your assessment.

As for those joined murderous jihadist schemes of Hamas and and Hezbollah in an evil effort to have overwhelming jihad attacks on the State of Israel on every side.is not only fated to fail but those jihadists will not get away with their evil plain against Isreal with impunity.
For the Bible informs its reader “Though they join forces, the wicked will not go unpunished”
Proverbs 11:21, [N.K.J.V.]

Whatever Hezbollah and Hamas scheme to do or actually do against the State of Israel to destroy her ,they the not be able to do so . This is because God loves and favors Israel and will not let her be destroyed.
As the Bible reads ” For the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself, Israel for His special treasure.”
Psalm 135:4. [N.K.J.V.]
