Qatar presents itself as a friend of the West, and especially of the United States, which has planes stationed at Al Udeid Airbase, and as a fully trustworthy, because studiously neutral, mediator between Israel and the terror group Hamas. The Bidenites are clearly convinced that the kleptocratic Al-Thani family, that rules Qatar with an iron fist, is an honest broker, the Little Emirate That Could, that has done a great deal of good, and very little bad, in its short life. Many in Washington are putting their faith in Qatar particularly now, as it strives — patient as Griselda — to bring about a hostages-for-prisoners exchange between Israel and Hamas. Not everyone is quite so convinced that Qatar deserves our praise. David Weinberg has quite a different view from that of the trusting pollyannas in Washington, which he lays out here: “Whitewashing Qatar: The reporting from Doha is disappointing – opinion,” by David M. Weinberg, Jerusalem Post, April 13, 2024:
According to unassailable and well-reported Israeli and American intelligence estimates, the monarchy of Qatar has provided at least $2 billion to its Muslim Brotherhood affiliate Hamas in recent years.
The vast majority of this funding has been invested in building terror attack tunnels and manufacturing rockets and missiles for war against Israel.
But you would not know this from reading The Jerusalem Post last Friday. Instead, 7,000 words of reporting from the capital of Qatar by this newspaper’s editor-in-chief would have you believe that “the humanitarian aid” and financial support Qatar has provided to the Gazans is “commonly misinterpreted.”
Qatar’s billions for Gaza, according to the Post, “often labeled as aid to Hamas,” has in fact “been actions taken at the request of the Israeli and US governments, targeted specifically at the poorest families in Gaza” and “meticulously coordinated” with the IDF Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories to reach them.
All this is designed, so Qatar says, to “foster dialogue rather than support Hamas ideologies and actions.”…
Qatar actively backs terrorist groups across the Middle East and around the world including the Taliban, Hezbollah, Al-Nusra (al-Qaeda) in Syria, the Houthi in Yemen, Al-Shabab in Somalia, ISIS, Iran’s main Shi’ite proxies in Iraq, terrorist groups in Libya, and Algeria. It also funds radical Muslim Brotherhood groups in Europe and America….
Instead, the Post offers up an unnamed senior American diplomatic source to tell us that Qatar “is one of the good guys,” that Qatar is “crucial,” no less, for Israel’s security and existence, and that Israel “won’t be able to survive” without cooperating with Qatar.
Wow. Good that the Post reports this because I did not know that Israel’s very existence depends on the good graces of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani….
Apparently, Israel should be grateful that Qatar gives Hamas only a few billion dollars every year, when it could give ten times as much, and that it allows fewer than a hundred Hamas leaders to live in luxury in Doha, when it might have accommodated thousands. Is that what is meant by those who claim Israel “wouldn’t be able to survive” without Qatar? That the Emirate is holding back on its terror-group largesse when it could do so much more harm?
Infuriated by Qatar’s Janus-faced duplicity, and the gullibility of the Jerusalem Post’s Editor-in-chief, David Weinberg decided to remind us what this close friend and ally of Iran and of Hamas is really all about. In ripping off the mask, he’s performed a yeoman’s service. The waddling emirs of Qatar won’t be pleased, but you and I should be, and perhaps there are even those in Washington who’ve been taken in by Qatar, but will take the time to read this piece by Weinberg, and reconsider.

The Muslim Brotherhood is reminiscent of The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants in the X-Men superhero comic book and movie series.
The difference, however, is that Magneto and his “homo superior” cohorts at least had a certain amount of honor and even humility at times.

Only those living in a bubble would believe that Qatar is a “decent and friendly” country. It is Islamic, and its leaders subscribe to the anti-Semitic and anti-Christian words of Mohammed and the Hadiths. It puts on this false face because it knows Islam is not strong enough. Once enough feckless politicians like Biden succumb to the sirens’ calls then they’ll drop all pretenses. The only reason some Islamic countries are siding with Israel is because they are against Iran, and Iran is a bigger threat that Israel (which isn’t a threat and only wishes to be left alone).
Westman says
True, DavidW.
“The only reason some Islamic countries are siding with Israel is because they are against Iran, and Iran is a bigger threat that Israel”.
The Sunnis would desire to have Iran’s leadership and Shia religion erased before it has nuclear weapons but the US is beginning to look to them as unable to protect them from Iran’s long-range ambitions to be the Caliphate and guardian of Mecca.

Qatar supporting that Muslim terrorist organizations and it doesn’t stop with that insidious evil .Qatar has, the stealth jihad , has infiltrated and influenced many universities and colleges in the United Kingdom and across the United States.
The Islamic kingdom of Saudi Arabia also has m, no doubt, its insidious part in the influence for Islam in the UK and the US.
So now those “institutions of higher education” have indoctrinated many young impressionable students to be very anti-Jewish , ant-Israel and even pro- Hamas.

(The wording and punctuation of the above note would have been better if only its writer had read it before posting it. Ideally, the proofreading should be done by someone else, because when you proofread your own work, you are reminded of what you meant to write, rather than reading, with fresh eyes, what you actually typed.)

It is also regarded as bad manners to criticise another poster’s spelling, punctuation, style of writing etc. If you can’t add something relevant to the TOPIC in discussion, best to keep quiet.

To Tony Rice., thank you for what you keyboarded, Actually , my critic ,Mark Spahn. gave men an unintentional compliment , because he was comparing me to the late newspaper commenter ,Andy Rooney , For in spite of him being intelligent he had his own critics who he nicknamed the “grammar police “. they read through his articles and then sent him letters about the punctuation errors he made as well as other grammar mistakes he wrote in his articles

And now President Joe Biden, and of course the state department Specialy Blinken has advised Hamas dreadful leaders to leave Qatar and go to Turkey
Where this fanatic president Erdogan was delightful, hosting them in turkey
Everyone knows that, but the Biden administration really think that the American people are stupid enough to believe everything they say
Walter Sieruk says
Many universities and colleges across the United States and in the United Kingdom have been thoroughly infiltrated and influenced by the insidious stealth jihadists.
There may be little doubt that those stealth jihadists are backed and funded by Qatar as well as oil rich Saudi Arabia are doing much harm.

I think is all very simple and straightforward. The hatred for all of us non-Muslims expressed in the Koran says it all about islam’s nature. Sure Afghanistan under the taliban is far worse than, say, Malaysia, but all Muslims are full of the hatred they are indoctrinated with towards non-Muslims, it is basic islam, the essence of islam as far as I can see, and they all are out to impose islam on everybody, so they are, from a non-Muslims point of view, as a hated infidel, no good. Them or us. Never trust them and keep them locked away in their Muslim countries. Nothing else can ever work in the long run. Muslims from Qatar or muslims from Afghanistan, they are all enemies of all our civilised western values and way of life. Now if only enough people would wake up and see this basic truth, it would soon be problem solved.

‘Kleptocratic’ — what a good word! But doesn’t it sum up every islamic society, not just Qatar, following the example of the ‘Prophet’ and his thieving cronies, the biggest ‘kleptocrats’ of all time!

Qatar also support Islamist politicians, eg ex Pres Faramaajo of Somalia,.

“embers” maybe a Freudian typo.

Time to stop helping these anti christian sand spiders. They take, but never give, without the west they would be broke and living in tents. Without indians and lesser moslems they would be living in squalor.
